Story
Bene is theoretically 9 years old. When he was adopted his age was uncertain but a vet estimated he was about 4 years old at the time. Ive had Bene for 5 years and he has never attacked another dog, bit a child, or even retaliated against a cat that was being unfriendly towards him. That being said: Bene is very energetic, happy to meet new people, and the typical amount of anxious that is normal in his breed. The only unusual/bad habit Bene has is that he likes to rummage through trash. I got a tall bin too large for him to topple and a locked lid that he could not open. That was about a year ago, he has not done it since then. Recently, Ive had to move back in with family, and the only people that could take me in have a zero tolerance no-pet lease and my younger members are seemingly allergic. Im currently harboring Bene with me, but I dont know anyone who will take him and Im certain I have less than a week before the situation turns sour. He needs a good home please.

Story
Hi, my name is Ginny! I am a 6 y/o Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie), weighing in at 11 pounds. I was surrendered to Zoe’s House by a breeder who didn't need me anymore. I’ve been hanging out with my awesome foster family for a while so they could get to know me and help me find my forever family. My foster Mom said I was a little standoffish at first, but it didn’t take me long to warm up once I knew I was safe and no one would hurt me. Since then, I’ve been loving all the attention I get from my foster family. My ideal family would be one that gives me a LOT of attention. I thrive on cuddling, hugs and being as close to my humans as possible. I really hope my forever family will allow me to sleep in bed with them and allow me on their couch to cuddle. I love my people so much that a home where people are home more often than not would be great. I get along well with the other pups in my foster home but I would be perfectly fine being your one and only. My foster home has older kids and I think they are great. Younger kids (under 13) make me nervous. I’m housebroken and will stand by the door when I need to go out. Please remember that regression is normal in new environments. I do not need a home with a fence since I’m fine being taken out to the yard on a leash. I do need more practice going for walks around the neighborhood so I hope my forever family will work on that with me. Zoe’s House has made sure I got spayed and I had some mammary tumors removed. Thankfully the tumors were benign. I’ve also had my teeth professionally cleaned and I had about half of them pulled out. I’m up to date on vaccines and preventatives. I have a clear bill of health and am ready to move on to my forever! I’m being fostered in Blandon, PA so any approved applicant may need to travel here with their dogs before an adoption is approved. If you think you can be my forever family, please apply on zoeshouserescue.com . Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Meet Ginger 🧡 This 3-year-old, 75-lb Norwegian Elkhound is the total package: handsome, gentle, and just the right amount of goofy. Ginger is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He did test positive for Lyme disease and will need to finish his treatment in his forever home—but don’t let that scare you off. He’s feeling good and ready to find his people. When Ginger first arrived, he was a little shy… but give him a minute and that whimsical, playful spirit comes shining through. He has a warm, affectionate nature and truly longs to be loved. He’s the kind of dog who will happily trot off to enjoy a peaceful moment on his own, then circle back to lean into you for some quiet affection. The balance? Chef’s kiss. He’s great with kids, wonderful with other dogs, and carries himself with that classic Elkhound confidence mixed with endearing goofiness. Well-behaved, photogenic (seriously, he knows his angles), and full of heart—Ginger is ready to be someone’s loyal companion for life. If you’re looking for a dog who can be both your adventure buddy and your cozy couch companion, Ginger might just be your guy. Apply for him at zoeshouserescue.com Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA 🐾

Story
Meet Prince Hans, a 9-year-old, 9-pound Maltese with a big personality packed into a tiny body! Don’t let his age fool you—Hans is full of energy and always ready for fun and a little mischief. With his big brown eyes and charming personality, this handsome little prince knows exactly how to win people over. He’s also quite the athlete and can jump surprisingly high for such a small dog! True to his breed, Hans is the ultimate lapdog. One of his favorite places to be is curled up in a cozy ball on his foster mom’s lap. He loves gentle affection, especially kisses on the top of his head, and he quickly forms strong bonds with the people who care for him. Hans doesn’t let his past define him. When he first arrived at his foster home, he was understandably timid and anxious after spending much of his life as a breeding dog. Even so, he showed a remarkable willingness to trust. From the moment he arrived, he wanted to stay close to his foster mom and has continued to grow more confident each day. Hans walks beautifully on a leash and absolutely loves spending time outside. In fact, he’s become a bit of a neighborhood celebrity and happily greets neighbors who stop to say hello. He is curious about everything around him and enjoys exploring all the sights, sounds, and smells of the neighborhood. Because of his small size and mischievous nature, however, time outside in a fenced yard should be supervised. Hans thrives on routine. Thanks to his consistent daily schedule, he has done very well with house training in his foster home. Like many dogs, he may experience some temporary regression when adjusting to a new environment, but patience and routine will help him succeed. He does well in his crate and sleeps peacefully in it at night, though he may bark briefly when first crated during the day—he simply prefers being close to his people. Hans also gets along well with other dogs. Hans is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, microchipped, and recently had a dental procedure. He currently has no teeth but doesn’t let that slow him down one bit! His favorite toys are Nylabones, and he loves a good game of tug-of-war—just be sure to let him win. He eats kibble that is softened with a mix of low-sodium chicken broth and water. Hans has been diagnosed with myxomatous mitral valve disease (a preclinical form of heart disease) and takes Pimobendan twice daily. Aside from his heart murmur, he shows no symptoms and still has plenty of energy and zest for life. As a Maltese, Hans will also need regular grooming and brushing to keep his soft coat healthy. The most important requirement for adopting Hans is being ready to welcome plenty of fun, laughter, cuddles, and a little bit of mischief into your life. If you’re looking for a charming, affectionate companion with lots of personality, Prince Hans may be the perfect addition to your family. Hans is currently being fostered in Mechanicsburg. www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel license: 9117 PO box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Gem is a four-year-old German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) with a zest for life and a loving nature. Like most GSPs, she’s full of energy and thrives in a home that can keep up with her active lifestyle. Whether it’s hiking, running, or exploring the great outdoors, Gem is ready to be your adventure buddy. After a day of activity, she loves nothing more than to settle down for some quality snuggle time with her favorite people. Her favorite thing, beyond anything else, is to be right by her person's side. Gem is well-mannered and has a solid foundation of basic training. She’s potty trained, walks well on a leash, and has reliable recall skills, making her a joy to take on outings. However, her hunting breed instincts are strong, and she has a high prey drive, so she requires a secure, tall, physically fenced yard (no electric fences or tie outs) to safely burn off her energy. Gem’s ideal home is a single-family home with plenty of space and a secure yard, as she needs room to run and play. She is not a good fit for renters or homes with restrictions on outdoor space. Due to her desire to chase, Gem is also not suitable for a home with cats or small animals. She lives in a foster home with six other dogs and gets along well with them, so she would love another canine companion, but would also do well as an only dog! While Gem is friendly and affectionate, she can get nervous in certain situations. For this reason, she would do best in a home with children aged 15 or older who can understand and respect her boundaries. She’s crate-trained and is most comfortable and will need to be crated when her family isn’t home, which helps her feel safe and secure. Gem is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, so she’s ready to transition smoothly into her new home. Her ideal family will not only appreciate her energetic and playful nature but also provide the structure and understanding she needs. If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion and are willing to travel to Reading, PA, to meet her, Gem could be the perfect fit!
