Story
Meet Namaste! This handsome 6-year-old boy has spent the last several years here at Animal Friends and is counting down the minutes until he finds his forever home. He loves being outside on walks and enjoys enrichment like sniffle mats and ripping up egg cartons full of treats. Our behavior team has done a lot of positive reinforcement training in with him here in the shelter and he will benefit from continued training in his new home. Namaste can go to an adult only home and wants to be the king of his castle and your only pet to soak up all your attention for himself! This 45lb boy is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 4 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and Namaste on his behavior and positive reinforcement training to facilitate a gentle transition into his new home. He is the perfect example of our mission: to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals. Fill out an application -> thinkingoutsidethecage.org All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption. Story
Meet Yogi! He is a happy, loved boy here at Animal Friends, but unfortunately his life before coming here was difficult. This cute boy came to the shelter through our Humane Investigation department as just a small puppy. Due to Yogi's court case, he had no choice but to grow up in the shelter. Yogi has made so many friends, learned wonderful doggy manners, and has made great strides during his time here with us. Now it is finally time for this boy to get to know a true home! This 50lb boy is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 4 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and Yogi on his behavior and training within his new home. Yogi is a high energy boy who loves to play, and do enrichment, but Yogi does need to live in a home that is adults-only. He also could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet and greet. Yogi is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all of our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds that require them to need a little extra. Extra care. Extra attention. Extra patience. They've certainly been extra loved here! If you have room in your heart and your home to give one of our special animals, check with our Adoption team to learn about our Extra Loved program and if there is any additional support we may be able to offer alongside your adoption! Fill out an application -> ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped! Animal Friends 562 Camp Horne Road Kennel License #: 1042

Story
This handsome guy is RJ! He came to Animal Friends as part of a transfer from another organization. Throughout the months RJ has been with us, he has shown us how intelligent and playful he is. While interacting with staff and volunteers, RJ has learned obedience commands, and would love to expand upon training in his new home. He loves having his daily enrichment time, and adopters should continue providing opportunities for him to sniff, solve puzzles, and more! RJ takes some time to warm up to new people, and may prefer to meet a few times before finally going home! RJ can go home to a family with children 13 years or older and can not live with any smaller mammals like cats or rabbits. RJ can be dog selective, and would prefer to go as a single dog; he might enjoy some canine friends, but not a roommate! RJ is one of our Extra Loved residents. RJ is also one of Animal Friend's VIPs! Our VIP Adoption Special was recently created as a means to spotlight some of our residents that have spent longer than average times in the shelter due to their more unique needs. With the VIP Adoption Special we hope to provide as much communication and education about each individual VIP resident and their unique needs as possible, as well as additional resources where needed upon their eventual adoption. Thanks to Charlotte, Dave, and rescue dog Cooper Stephenson, the adoption donation has also been fully underwritten for these VIP residents. Interested in learning more? Ask our Adoption team about eh VIP Adoption Special and learn more about these wonderful residents! Story
Meet Voter! Voter came to us in the fall of 2022 as a stray, but she isn't looking to live that lifestyle anymore. Voter loves walks along our trails and rolling around in the grass. Voter's love language is respecting her boundaries and taking your time when getting to know her; she needs some time and patience (and lots of treats!) but trust us when we say it will pay off. She loves ear scratches and belly rubs from people she trusts and has an established bond with. Voter is incredibly smart and ready to continue her positive reinforcement training in her new home. She would prefer that all her family members are at least 13 years old and though she doesn't get along with cats, she could potentially go to a home with other dogs pending a successful meet and greet. Fill out an application -> thinkingoutsidethecage.org All of our animals are altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines before being made available for adoption. Story
Meet Theo! This sweet, but still very shy guy came to the shelter through a Humane Investigations case for having too many dogs within the home. Theo is still learning on how to be comfortable around humans so he would benefit from a loving and patient home, who will allow him plenty of time to adjust. He would prefer a home with children 13 years or older. Theo has previously lived with a cat in his foster home, and could possibly live with other dogs pending a successful meet and greet. Since Theo can be nervous around people he does not know - he is unable to live in any type of communal living environments. Theo is one of Aurora's "Special Canines, meaning that his requested adoption donation has been underwritten and his new family will receive a starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs. This special package is made possible by Aurora's "Special Canines Fund established in honor of a spunky little dog named Aurora to ensure that dogs in our care who are struggling to find a suitable home due to their age, or unique medical or behavior needs are given that extra support. Fill out an application -> ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped! Story
Adam made his way to Animal Friends by our Humane Investigations Team after being found abandoned and shivering in a dilapidated house. Adam is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to be pet and receive back scratches. He loves exercise--going on walks and sniffing everything outside are two of his favorite things. Our behavior team has been working with Adam on positive reinforcement training. He would greatly benefit from a home that will continue this training with him so that he can be his best self. Adam can potentially live with another dog but cannot live with cats. Adam is also looking for a home with adults only. Look at that sweet, goofy face! Come ask our adoption counselors about Adam. Adam is one of Aurora's "Special Canines, meaning that his requested adoption donation has been underwritten and his new family will receive a starter kit of supplies and other support based on his unique needs.
