Meet Odyssey! This good boy is 6 years old and came to us as a transfer from a partner organization and is full of energy and joy. Odyssey is a big, happy dog who doesn't always realize his size and can get a little mouthy when excited, but he's also very sweet, soft, and eager to please. He's food-motivated, loves treats, and is already working on basic manners. He would do best with an experienced family who can give him plenty of exercise and positive reinforcement. He could potentially live with younger kids as long as they're comfortable with a strong, energetic dog. He could live with anotehr dog pending a meet and greet, and would prefer a home with no cats. Do you want to be his new best friend? Odyssey is a part of our SCI Fayette Training Program, which means he is currently residing off campus at the Fayette State Correctional Institution where he lives with an inmate. While there, Odyssey enjoys enrichment activities, positive reinforcement and fear-free training. Gypsy loves her walks, is getting better and better on leash, and would make a fantastic hiking buddy. When she’s not scouting for squirrels (her favorite hobby), she’s happily following her person around the yard, supervising all outdoor projects like the best little forewoman on four paws. She’s playful (sometimes with toys, sometimes with your shoelaces), great with people, and does well with other dogs. Meet MooMoo! This sweet 2 year old boy came to us as an owner surrender when he was not a good fit for the home. He is a high energy boy who has tons of energy that he is still trying to learn to balance out -- being that he is so young, he still has tons of that puppy energy in him! MooMoo's name was inspired by... you guessed it... a cow based off of his fur colorings. MooMoo does have separation anxiety, so he would be a 3-week foster-to-adopt to help with this and will need some management in the home. He could do well in a home with children ages 6 and up and could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet & greet. MooMoo used to be a part of our PAWS program at SCI Fayette Correctional Institute where he was being trained by selective inmates and guards and lived with his best friends! MooMoo is also a part of our Foster-To-Adopt program, which means for 3 weeks our trainers here at Animal Friends will work with you and MooMoo on his behavior and positive reinforcement training to facilitate a gentle transition into their new home. He is the perfect example of our mission: to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals. MooMoo is one of our extra loved residents. Meet Gigi! This gorgeous gal came to Animal Friends through our Humane Investigations Team and was rescued from some unfortunate circumstances. When Gigi first got here she was very nervous which lead her being uncertain about trusting humans and going outside on walks. Gigi has since made wonderful progress and has become a staff and volunteer favorite! She can often be found going on long walks with her handlers, or cage breaks to the park to play ball, or out on a car ride around town to get some time out of her kennel and have herself a pup-cup! Gigi is a high energy, playful, bouncy girl who could live in a home with children 13 years and older. This sweet girl will require multiple meet and greets to get to know her, as she can take some time to warm up to new people and learn how to trust. We know she came from an unfortunate home life previously, so we don't blame this sweet girl for wanting to make sure that she's safe before she warms up to someone! Gigi would prefer to be the only pet in the home, as she is not a fan of canine or feline friends. Gigi is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds where they may need a little extra care, extra attention, and extra patience. He's a very sweet boy who is more of a slow paced type of pup and needs someone who is okay with that! He loves to be with people, and resides in a foster home where he is more comfortable and with his friends while he waits for his home.
