Story
DAISY MAE came to us after she bit her owner in the face. It was a one-time incident however the family was afraid of her after the incident. We were her last hope as an alternative to euthanasia. In our care, Daisy has befriended a couple of our volunteers and is sweet as pie. However, we don’t trust her completely, even with people she knows because she can’t control herself when she gets overstimulated. The original incident happened when they had moved into a new home and Daisy was over excited/stressed and a delivery man came to the door. Her mom attempted to put her into a crate and she resisted and jumped up alligator-style. We are committed to help Daisy even though we understand she may never find a forever home. For the present time being, we are her family and are continuing to try to help her make progress. We will accept applications from exceptional families who have dealt with similar dogs in the past successfully. Daisy needs to be an only pet and although she was fine with the children in her home, because of the bite she needs to be in an adult only home! If you would like to love Daisy from afar, please visit out website and use the PayPal link to support us in her care. www.CompAnimals.org. Thank you!November 3, 2024, 10:40 am

Story
COCO came to us after she had a cluster of seizures in her newly adoptive home. She was adopted only a month before from a rescue in Tennessee which did not respond to our inquiries regarding her previous history. Coco is a SWEET girl! She is currently in a foster home with a Chihuahua and several cats and does well with all! She enjoys her walks as much as she enjoys her couch time! Coco is a beautiful red brindle! she is 110% housebroken. Great with meeting new people! Coco is in Keppra and phenobarbital to control her seizures. She has had a couple of clusters since arriving in her foster home and we are working In fine tuning her meds. Coco will need more frequent vet visits than the average dog her age. With excellent care, we feel she can live a relatively normal life and will make an excellent companion for some lucky family. Coco has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Adoption $200. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in adding Coco to your family! November 3, 2024, 10:40 am

Story
SKYLAR Is a 7 year old husky who was found as a stray in Baltimore. Being bred to run across the frozen tundra, he does like to test his boundaries so a secure fence and lots of exercise is a must for this guy! Skylar loves his walks and loves to be petted. Rides well in the car! He does have some issues with handling his neck/collar area - he may have had a bad experience with rough handling at some point. He does easily let us hook a leash to his collar but was a little mouthy with the volunteers at the shelter where we got him from when they were putting on and off a slip lead over his head. He was very polite about it and didn’t bite down but because of this we prefer him to have a home without small children. We would love Skylar to go to a family with husky experience! He ha shown some resource guarding with toys so we are recommending he be he only pup where he can soak up all the love and attention. Skylar is neutered and has been vaccinated, 4DX tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. Story
IRELAND is a four-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier who, likes so many others, was a victim of the pandemic. Found tied to a fence in Philadelphia. When she was six months old, she was deprived of early socialization and, as a result, is unsure in public settings and meeting new people. She is reactive with other dogs, but she did have a Pomeranian friend when she was a puppy so possibly she could be acclimated to a calm male dog in the future but currently we are recommending her as the only pet in an adult-only household.  Ireland is an athlete! She can run and run and run for miles. Every car ride leads to adventure and she will readily jump in and ride shotgun. Once you’re in her circle, you are golden. Ireland has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for Heartworms and has been microchipped. We hope to keep her within comfortable driving range, so that there can be several meetings and a home visit leading up to the Adoption. Adoption $200. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are the active family that Ireland is looking for. November 3, 2024, 10:40 am
