Story
Nala is a 6 year old border collie mix. She is around 80 pounds. She is high energy and loving once she gets to know someone. She does suffer with anxiety and fear around strangers, so it may require a couple meetings before she is fully comfortable. She has had an injury to her CCL in her knee which has a since healed, but she has been a little slowed down by this. My best hope for her is she finds a loving and understanding home where she can live out the rest of her days peacefully. I am looking to transition her to a new home in late May 2025. We can arrange a couple meetings prior to then to get her acclimated and happy.

Story
Ghetti is a 2-3 year old American Bully. She was found running stray with another dog in WV. Spaghetti AKA Ghetti is as cute as they come! She's about 35-40lbs of beautiful bully. She does have some quirks(mainly her fearfulness of men and general shyness). BUT, she has made great strides since being in foster and we have every ounce of confidence that she will continue to flourish in the right home. An added bonus is that she comes with FREE ongoing support from the rescue's certified behavior consultant. In foster, she has become extremely close with the male in the home after her intial fearful behavior of him. The key with her is time, patience, space and understanding. She's really just learning about humans and it's important to continue to make her feel safe. Once she feels safe and trusts you, WATCH OUT! She will crawl into your lap and cuddle like you've never seen. She may even show you her goofy side which is so fun to see! Ghetti may need several meet and greets if you are male or have a male in your home, so if you're impatient or pushy DON'T APPLY. She would do best in a home with a calm male dog or as the only dog, no cats or small animals, respectful kids aged 10 and up. Her ideal home would be on the calm/quiet side. She really loves walks, so if you like walking or hiking in areas with low traffic and noise...she would love to be your hiking partner! She will need someone that isn't scared to advocate for her...meaning that you will need to be able to tell people, "Hey, please give her some space, she's shy." ...or put her in a crate with something yummy if you're having people over and you feel she might not be comfortable. Someone that is willing to always put Ghetti's feelings and best interest first, so that she can continue to learn to trust the world would be amazing! She is not a dog park dog nor would she enjoy outings with people everywhere. Some of her favorite things include: walks in the woods, food, SNUGGLES, treat puzzles and confidence building games, couch potato-ing and car rides. She does well in her crate and hasn't had any potty training issues. If you think you can be an advocate to protect her and her feelings and love her little hippo self, SHE WILL GIVE YOU THAT LOVE BACK TENFOLD! She is special and deserves someone special...reach out if you think that someone special is you!  ##1541407##

Story
Are you looking for an only dog who will devote all their love and trust into you?  A dog who wants nothing more than a warm bed and safe place to live out their golden years?  Molly is a 13yr old, 17lb Lhaso Apso who came into care when her owner could not longer care for her.  Molly had some difficult years prior to coming into foster but those are behind her now and she is looking for her final resting spot! Molly is hearing and visually impaired which makes her frightened easily so Molly needs to be an only pet at this time.  But these challenges do not stop Molly from enjoying life in her foster home!  Molly just needs a patient and understanding adopter who will show her nothing but love and kindness for the rest of her years. Molly does do well sleeping in her crate overnight but would prefer exploring the world with her owner(s) during the day.  Molly is potty trained as long as she is kept on a consistent schedule.  Even though Molly is a senior gal, she still gets around well and likes to take walks.   If you think you'd be the right person to give Molly the perfect retirement home, please apply today! If interested in applying for Molly, she is available for adoption on or after, 12/22/24 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA 15144 - KL# 16182 ##2248389##

Story
BRRRR IT'S COLD OUT!  Are you looking for a playful BFF to warm you up this winter?  Say hi to Scooter! Hi everyone, my name is Scooter. I am looking for my furrever home. Would we be a good fit together?I am about 8 months old and weigh 24lb. I'm some type of shephard mix, but emphasis on the mix as I'm not going to be a bigger boy. I'll probably be a medium sized dog when I'm done growing up - maybe 30-40lb? I am a very playful guy and, like most pups, have a lot to learn. Let me share a bit more about where I am pawsitively crushing it and where I could use some pawsitive trainings and reinforcement. I am really good at:-being cute (duh, you saw this from my photos)-being in my crate (I sleep there, spend time there when my foster mom needs to work, eat my meals in there, etc)-eating (I'm not a picky eater like some doggos)-entertaining myself with toys or bones-keeping my crate clean and going potty outside My adopter should:-give me enough stimulation (physical and mental) so I don't go stir crazy (a fenced in yard is strongly preferred for Scooter so he can zoom around and expend his energy)-enroll me in training (look... I'm a certified GOOD BOY, but apparently there are other things to work on like dog intros, leash skills, and impulse skills, etc)-not have young kids in the home or those who may not be secure on their feet (I'm not a mean boy, but I'm young and learning to not jump and jostle others when moving about!)-not have cats or small dogs (I am not good at respecting personal space, and I annoy little ones a lot) Overall, my ideal home will know that dogs, especially young dogs, require more than just love, food, and cuddles. I need a home that's willing to put in time to help me be the best boy I can be! In exchange for this, I will give you endless love and laughter! Apply for me today at Paws Across Pittsburgh! Story
Taffy is a 12-year-old, 13-pound Dachshund with a heart full of love and a personality that will steal your heart. Don’t let her age fool you—this spunky senior still has plenty of charm and energy to share! She’s incredibly friendly and loves spending time with her favorite humans. While is doing very on potty training, (she goes outside as long as her people take her out on schedule), a family where somone is home home most of the day would be best.   This little diva prefers to be the center of attention and while she tolerates other dogs to some extent, she prefers to be the only dog in the home. For her comfort, a home without young children would be ideal. If you’re looking for a sweet senior with a big personality and lots of love to give, Taffy could be the perfect addition to your family. Apply today and give this charming girl the loving home she deserves! Taffy is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and available for adoption now through Paws Across Pittsburgh in Springdale, PA (KL# 16182). ##2241122##

Story
Hi I am Shadow, formerly known as Fizz........... and I am sad and confused currently, but am sure it will pass, right?  You see I was adopted by my best friend about a year ago.  This guy, he really "got me", he was patient while I settled in, it takes me a few days to get comfy.  Don't get me wrong I will love you right off the bat, as I love all people and other doggos so much, but in a I will pace around a bit and try to find the perfect rest spot in the house for me kinda way.  New digs are a bit scary and I want to make sure I fully check the place out.  He understood that I love toys, I won't destroy them (or anything else) I will just play and play with my toys.  I am crate trained and house broken, however I will tinkle a little if you grab at me too fast (I don't have a mean bone in my body so when I am scared I just leak a bit)..... someone must not have been too nice to me along the way...............once I new my best friend wasn't going to hurt me that stopped.  Man, I sure do miss that dude.   A little more about me, the call me a lab mix, I am super smart like I hear that labs are.  I am proud to show you all of my tricks, sit lay down, spin in circles (that makes me dizzy, but I don't mind), I come when I am called and I walk decently on the leash.  I will get better if I went for more walkies, but right now I am just excited to go.  I am about three (or maybe four) years old, not sure since I was originally a stray.  I am definately a mix though because you see I am a small guy, only 25lbs.  So I have the best of both worlds big old brain, small little body!  What else can I tell you--- oh, you are probably wondering what happened to the BFF, well I am not exactly sure.  He returned me back to the rescue and said he was too busy for little ol' me.  The rescue people made room and even reunited me with my original foster, as they didn't want me to be any more sad or confused.  I recognized my old foster pup brothers and sisters right away and we got to get all caught up and they help me get over missing my friend.  I would do absolutely fine in a house with or without other pups, but would like humans who want to hang out and are around more than not-- as you can guess I don't like that "busy" word.  I am not sure, if I ever met a cat, but if you have one and want to adopt me, my foster would get me cat tested.   I am available for adoption today at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt.  Paws Across Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh- PA 15144 KL#16182.  ##1982188##
