Story
Welcome Sarah back to Peaceable Kingdom! This girl was adopted early in 2024 but was returned due to a change in work schedules. You see, Sarah’s bladder isn’t the strongest and she can’t hold it a full workday. She’ll need a family who is home often to provide her access to the bathroom when she needs it or has a fenced yard and doggy door. She is purportedly pee-pad trained, too. Sarah is a friendly Beagle mix, around 7 years of age. She currently weighs 26 lbs., but is a little underweight, so she will likely be 30–35 lbs. once a healthy weight. Sarah is well-behaved and can be trusted to have free roam of the house when alone (i.e., no destructive behaviors). Sarah has spent time around cats and is open to meeting other dogs. She would be fine in a home with kids. Overall, Sarah is an outgoing, happy gal with a great smile who loves to go on walks. Do you have the right home for Sarah? Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Story
Hear ye, hear ye! All hail the King of Peaceable Kingdom! We joke, because there’s nothing very regal about this boy. King is a big, silly, lummox of a dog and we love him for it! King is 1 ½ years old, weighs 73 lbs., and is half Boxer, half German Shepherd/Husky mix. King has a big bark when you meet him, but he’s 100% soft inside. He has the best wiggle-butt when he’s excited to see you! King was surrendered because his prior owners were unable to care for him. He was crated a lot in the past and didn’t get proper training as a puppy, so he’s still learning good-boy manners, like potty-training and walking on a leash. King is very talkative at the shelter, so he may benefit from a home without shared walls. King grew up around other dogs and supposedly cats, too, but we can cat test him if you have a kitty at home. King would do fine around older children, but he’s probably too big for the little ones. Apply for this big, loveable goofball at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
Adoptable Ami is ready to give you lots of hugs! This affectionate girl is around 1 ½ and weighs 53 lbs. Ami is purportedly a mix of Boxer, German Shepherd, and Husky, though we’d swear she’s got some hound in her! Ami was surrendered because her prior owners were unable to care for her. She didn’t get proper training as a puppy so she’s still learning where to go potty and how to walk well on a leash. Ami is chatty, so she might do best in a home without shared walls. She grew up around other dogs and supposedly cats, too, but we can kitty test her if you have any feline friends at home. We think Ami would be okay with older kids, too. Ami is nervous around strangers and will need a confident, assertive owner who will establish rules and create an environment where Ami feels safe and secure. Apply for Ami at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
This is Zito! Zito is a 10-year-old, male, Rat Terrier mix who weighs 15 lbs. This little man came to us after being picked up as a stray. Zito is a friendly, outgoing fellow who enjoys walks. He’s got a ton of pep in his step! He also enjoys sitting on volunteers’ laps and receiving gentle pets. Zito has exhibited some signs of resource guarding, especially when he gets overly excited around toys. He is also sometimes sensitive to being touched on his hind quarters. We did give him a bath and he did fine, though, so he is generally okay with being touched and even carried. Because of the resource guarding, Zito would do best in a home with adults and older, responsible children (12+) who understand dog body language. Zito lived with another dog, so he’d be open to meeting other canine friends if you have them in your home. He can also be cat tested. Apply for Zito at lvpeaceablekingdom.info! Story
Say hello to Maverick! PK welcomed this sweet Norwegian Elkhound mix from another local rescue, after he was originally picked up as a stray. Maverick is around 2 years old and weighs 36 lbs. While we are still learning more about Maverick, we know he is a very friendly and outgoing boy. He likes to give people kisses! Maverick is energetic and enjoys burning energy on walks with his volunteer friends. He has quite a thick coat, so he will need a family who is willing to provide for his grooming needs. Maverick is open to meeting other dogs if you have them in the household; however, he cannot live with cats. We believe he would do fine in a home with children. Submit an application for Maverick at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052
