Story
Terrific Tucker is looking for love and adventure! Due to a change of housing situation this sweet boy is looking for a new home. Tucker is a 7 year old Potcake who was rescued as a puppy from Turks and Caicos. Whether it be playing fetch, running, hiking or spending time by his favorite person’s side Tucker is up for anything as long he’s the one getting all the attention! He is super affectionate and loyal to the ones he knows. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines. He’s grown up in a home with 3 small children but because he sometimes gets a little anxious about the unknown, a home with grown or no children would be best. He would also prefer to be in a one-dog home as new dog friends can sometimes overwhelm him (and so he can be the only one spoiled with all the love!) This gentle yet excitable young dog can’t wait to start his new life with you. Please reach out if you or someone you know can help… I can get you in contact with his owners.

Story
I am helping my sister find a home for her pitbull. They have 2 since they were puppies but the female is so high energy and strong that my sister is having a difficult time controlling her. They have 2 daughters and are busy with work and sports and the female pit is a handful getting out of their fenced yard and scaring neighbors. Her husband wants to put the dog down but that breaks our hearts because she is so loving.

Story
Crosby is a gentle giant. He is a very kind, loving, and experessive dog. He is best known for two things, his extra extra large size, and his extra large smile. He is 155LBs, and very tall as well. He is a Great Pyrenese at heart, and true to his breed, he is a protector and will bark to let you know of people walking outside of his fence, dogs, walking, the mail man, etc. He is certainly a barker in that way, however not in general when hes inside (unless he'd really like that treat you're holding). Crosby will do best in a home with one person or a couple with teenage children or older. Crosby is extremely kind to kids of all ages, but is very large and can be a challenge to understand how to play with for little ones. He loves walks, and does great on the leash! He loves to play in the yard, and have a good bone once in a while. He does not get the time and attention that he needs and deserves and finding the right home for him is with his best interest at heart.

Story
Linus is a 10 mo old special needs puppy.  He is blind and has hydrocephalus treated by surgical intervention to place a permanent shunt.  Due to his conditions, he may require additional medical intervention in the future by his neurologist who is practices out of VRC in Malvern, PA therefore we are looking for a home within a reasonable driving distance to this vet hospital.  We were asked to take Linus by a breeder because he had special needs and could not be sold.  Linus was in very bad shape when we picked him up and required immediate emergency medical care to save his life.  Through his medical work up by a neurologist, including MRI, spinal tap, and bloodwork, we learned he has severe hydrocephalus (excess fluid on the brain) that was causing him to have seizures and other neurological symptoms and that he is blind.  We were told our only options were euthanasia or surgery to place a shunt to drain the excess fluid from his brain into his abdomen (VP shunt).  Of course we chose to save him.    Linus did well with his surgery and has been able to be neutered and receive all vaccines, and is now ready to find his forever home.  Aside from being blind, Linus is a typical playful puppy.  He does not require any medications currently.  Having a shunt does not interfere with his daily activity but does make him a bit more fragile overall.   Linus will do best in a quiet home environment with adults or a family with older children.  He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but may be ok with 1 other small dog.  A home with prior experience caring for a special needs pet is preferred, but we will consider a family willing to take on the challenges associated with having a blind dog.   ##2091332##

Story
Meet the adorable Marco! He is a 1 y.o., 23 lb. boy who may be a Feist/Shiba Inu mix possibly? He was an owner surrender at a WV shelter. He is very skittish, takes time to even warm up for petting and will take a very patient adopter to go super slow with him. He is goofy, loves other dogs and needs that in his new home to help him feel more comfortable. He is a flight risk, so a fenced yard is an absolute must! No exceptions! He escaped from original adopter and it took 6 weeks with the help of a search team to catch him. Also, for that reason no small children that can easily open a door where he might escape. He will be a great fit for a quiet, adult home. Please email katymk@ptd.net for an application to adopt. His adoption fee is $350 and he is neutered & current on vaccines. Must be within 1 hr. of Pottstown, PA in order to adopt.  Apply for Marco here- https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/Dog   June 14, 2024, 10:19 am
