Story
Hello! My name is Patches and I`m currently staying at BMHS in Walla Walla! I`m a 57lb pup full of kindess and love! I enjoy running around, eating treats, playing ball, and learning new things! I prefer to live in a home with no cats and where I have a tall fenced yard I can run around in! I walk well on a leash! I am used to walking at least a mile every day! I`ve even had home potty training! I promise to try my best at home! I love car rides! I`m also super friendly! Loud noises, especially train whistles, can scare me, but I know that I am safe with my person. I would also love to meet your doggy friends! Schedule a time with staff for that to happen! I have been known to do well! I`m the best car rider and dog walker you have ever met! I am the joy you`ve been missing in life! Fill out an adoption application online and come meet me! I can`t wait!

Story
Hello, I`m Phoebus! I`m an excitable and playful 77lb pup here at the Blue Mountain Humane Society! I graduated from training at the Washington State Penitentiary! Additional training will be a blast! I`m still looking for a place to call home. I have lived at the shelter for almost half of my life! I`m incredibly sweet and love to be close to my people. I love playing with other dogs! Sometimes I bark at them when I`m on a leash, but enjoy the supervised playgroups they have here! I just yearn for a family full of love and patience! I will thrive in an environment where I have plenty of space to run and chase tennis balls! I can fit two in my mouth at once! I prefer a tall fence around my yard, so I can`t practice my jumping or climbing skills. I`d also be a wonderful dog to take on long walks and hikes! If you`re interested in giving me a chance, fill out an application on the Blue Mountain Humane Society website and come say hi! If you have other dogs at home, set a time with the front desk to bring them in to meet me!Because, I`m a long stay dog at BMHS, a trainer in the community has offered to do FREE dog training upon my adoption. Please contact the BMHS office for more information.

Story
Hello, my name is Slater. I am currently at BMHS awaiting to find my furever home. I am a good choice for families or anybody looking for a sweet and loving dog. I have been at the shelter since May 24, 2024, but was in a foster home for many of those months. I am a 2 year and 9 months old, and I weighs 62 pounds. That 62 pounds is more horizontal than it is vertical; I am not a very tall dog, but I also am not extremely long, as Dachshunds and Basset Hounds are. I am known to be house-trained, I walk nicely on a leash, and I know sit, stay, and shake. I can be a little bit shy at first, but I love people, and is very loving and cuddly with people he knows. Slater likes other dogs, although he does occasionally bark at them while walking on the leash. He likes car rides, and likes to cuddle with the person in the backseat with him. He does not like cats, and he should either go to a household without cats or be introduced to cats very gradually. BMHS can provide guidance as to how to do a slow introduction of a dog to cats. Slater is very trainable because he loves treats; as a long-stay dog, he comes with free training from a local dog trainer. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an adoption application online, and come down the sheltet to meet me. I am so excited to me you! Woof!
