Story
I was abandoned at a local lake and found by my dad’s caregiver. She brought me to mom and dad so they could make sure I’m healthy and get a good start in life. My parents can’t keep me because of medical reasons but want to make sure I go to a loving home! I love to cuddle, play, go for walks, and am just an all around happy guy.

Story
Looking for a canine partner that is already professionally trained? Look no further than Vinny! Vinny came to Sanctuary One from a high kill shelter back in June. The shelter staff sent numerous videos of him interacting with dogs, children etc. and he did great! Once he arrived he was fine with our other shelter dogs and staff. Vinny was adopted but returned because he started resource guarding food, toys etc. This was not a behavior we had seen from him prior to being adopted. Our volunteer dog trainers from Companion Canine took Vinny home for a 2 week crash course where he learned to have manners and we found out that he is really smart and loves his training sessions! Here is the video the trainers made of him: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-FxCGpywk_f13IbfggqC2cMwZiCIAl-_/view Vinny is an amazing little guy but will need an adopter that is willing to keep up on his training. He is super smart and would excel in scent work or advanced obedience training. He has retained all of his training since he has been back with us. Vinny is very sweet, he loves to give hugs! If Vinny sounds like a match for you, please put in your Adoption Application today: https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/

Story
Meet Merlin, the powerful wizard! This young boy will surely bring lots of wonder and magic into anyone's life. He loves his doggy pals as well as his two-legged human friends! We don't know much about Merlin's start in life other than he was abandoned with the rest of his litter not far from Rescue Ranch in Yreka CA. While he was reasonably timid at first he quickly learned that we weren't so bad and showed off his goofy and playful personality. He has been amazing in playgroups and loves making new canine friends wherever he goes. Put in an Adoption Application for this awesome boy today: https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/

Story
Olive is a 7-year-old McNab Shepherd/Lab mix. Her previous owners relocated to the city and couldn't take her because she didn’t get along with their other dog. I have a dog that I adopted from a shelter, and like Olive, my dog also doesn't get along well with other dogs. Because of her past experiences, Olive would do best in a home where she is the only dog. A dog trainer described her as more fearful than aggressive. When other dogs barked at her, she would tremble and tuck her tail, even though she might end up fighting back. She may be fine with friendly dogs with careful introduction. Other than that, she is easygoing, happy to be with you, and content to stay in her place. She enjoy chasing a ball and walks well on leash. She is very athletic and cheerful :) According to her previous owners, Olive gets along well with other animals like cats and livestock. She is a sweet girl and eager to please you. Thank you for considering giving Olive a new home.
