Story
Meet Bluey! This young adult is a high energy mix who always is looking for something to do! He can be a little mouthy in his play style, so we recommend he go to a home without young children. He loves his time outside the kennel and comes out like a little fireball, ready to go, go, go! He needs an active lifestyle, some training, and probably needs a job to do! If you like your dogs with spunk and spark, come out and meet Bluey! Bluey has been DNA tested, and 12 different breeds were detected! He is a great mix of smart and fun breeds! Bluey does well with other dogs of his energy level, however does get jealous of his humans, so may do best as your one and only. Come check out Bluey and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment. An adoption application will be required from those interested in providing a fab furever home to Bluey. Please call us at (707) 464-7235 for additional information. Story
Meet Annie! She's a beautiful and fun young adult. Picked up as a stray, she weighs in at 52lbs. She's playful, friendly, and has done well with some of our other dogs. Annie does love her games of fetch and her humans need to be mindful that she is so focused on the ball, she doesn't always notice the hand that is holding it, or the body part that might be in the way when she's coming in hot to capture that ball! She'd do best with older kids who understand her focus. ANNIE was a candidate for acceptance to the National Disaster Search Foundation. Although she ultimately wasn't selected, we'd like to thank their team for considering and evaluating her! She's super smart and very toy driven, check out her video on the Dogs of Del Norte County FB page! Story
Meet Channing! This gorgeous girl is Channing. We are still getting to know her & she is still getting settled in. We think she is probably under a year old and is currently a little underweight at 42 lbs. Her markings are even more dramatic in person. She is always on the hunt for rabbits on our walking trails so has a pretty strong prey drive and probably needs a home with no cats. Channing has done well running alongside other dogs in our dog runs. Her DNA test revealed she is German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, Swiss Shepherd, Chow, and Malamute! Come check out Channing and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment. Story
Meet Catari! This little lady is under a year old and weighs 47 lbs. She is starting to get over some of her initial shyness, and as you can see, she is gorgeous. She enjoys her time snuggling with humans…big humans…little humans. She passed her cat test and is dog friendly. She liked spending girl time with another young female dog and will be introduced into a play yard soon. Catari is still full of puppy shenanigans, and has a puppy-like play style, so her family needs to be prepared to do some training. She is eager-to-please and ready to train into the dog of your dreams! Come check out Catari our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Story
Meet Charli! She's an adult Pittie mix who loves to play ball! This girl was brought in by law enforcement after being abandoned & left tied to a tree. She has put that hard, homeless life behind her and is looking to the future. She is between 2-3 years old & weighs 60 lbs. Charli has leash manners and likes to keep her kennel clean. She is not a Tinder kinda gal…she likes slow introductions that include dinner & drinks. She has made friends with another female dog, and they enjoy their walks together and eating grass. Watch the video in the comments on her profile on four Dogs of Del Norte County FB page! Just a word of caution…when she gets the zoomies you will laugh so hard you might pee a little! She gets SO focused on the toy, she doesn't always notice there is a human hand holding it. She needs a home without young children who won't understand her excitement with toys. After a play session, she is content to relax and chill out in her kennel. Come check out Charli and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment. An adoption application will be required from those interested in providing a fab furever home to Charli. Story
Meet Othos! He's a big, goofy guy that likes to have fun. Othos has liked all the people & dogs that he has met here. He also likes to play fetch and go for long walks. Othos weighs about 86 lbs, and is approximately 2 years old. He knows a few basic commands and passed his cat test, but proved to be a little too cat curious in a home environment. Othos also loved meeting kids, but will need to be supervised around smaller children because he IS big and likes to be as close as possible! Update on Othos! He was able to go into a home for several days so we could find out more about him. He is housebroken and enjoys riding in a vehicle. He can be protective of the car if someone gets too close. He is very strong and will also need a secure yard with nothing near the fence to be able to jump and get over to play with the neighbors dog uninvited. Othos is very strong and needs some additional work on leash manners. He loves to be loved and to chill with his people. He has been DNA tested, his results are on our Dogs of Del Norte County FB page. Othos also got a field trip to the beach. This was the report back…”he can easily load into the bed of a truck and travels well, was extremely happy to have the wind in his face. He enjoys human attention and allows you to pet and rub him throughout his body. Othos has zero problem with walking into the water and actually looked like he wanted to play in the surf. He likes to mark territory and wants to travel with his nose to the ground, control of the head will be key to good walks. Othos is strong and took quite a bit of redirecting to get him to walk along my side and after a while he started to settle in on his walk. He is laser focused on other dogs in public and will need a capable handler to redirect his attention to the task at hand. Only praise and petting were used for training purposes.” Come check out Othos and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment. An adoption application will be required from those interested in providing a fab furever home to Othos.
