Story
Lottie came to us malnourished and unkempt. The sweet girl has been getting the care, food and attention that she so badly needed. Lottie is around 3 years old and will be a healthy 40-45 lbs soon…. Good nutrition will bring in a beautiful coat in no time too. She is chipped, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and parasite control. She has a focused, energetic, but adoring temperament, doesn’t know much obedience yet, but aims to please. She loves treats and chews, but isn’t very interested in toys so far. Her trusting attitude is all about work ethic and deep down all she really wants is a job. Agility perhaps? She is just learning about house training and leash walking. She is just beginning to know about basic obedience, but has a good recall. Lottie would do best in an active home that had some training expectations. She is dog social but high in the pecking order and can be confrontational with other high intensity dogs. She has also done great with older kids. Her foster home has all kinds of farm animals and she is vigilant watching over their movements from across the fence. Lottie was extremely interested in the house cat but tolerant of his pestering. She would need careful introductions to other animals to insure she understands what appropriate behavior is. Her foster family has a pack of Labradors that she feels obligated to herd in the field. She is not mouthy but very deliberate and quick with her body movements. Lottie is doing well with crating indoors at night. She has not offered to climb over the short 3ft fencing, but will quickly show her contortionist prowess thru any 4 in gap under or around fencing. The most exciting thing she has seen so far is a drone… Lottie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She is being fostered in La Grande, OR and her adoption fee is $400. Story
Moxie also came to us malnourished and unkempt. These poor girls (Lottie and Moxie) are finally getting the food, care and attention that they deserve. Moxie is a special Heinz57 (guessing BC x German Wirehair) with a heart of gold. She is around 7 months old and still finishing growing. She is currently around 30 pounds and will likely end up around a healthy 40 pounds as an adult. Moxie has done fantastic at quietly crating all night but will be vocal if she really needs a bathroom break (she is just learning house training and doing great). She does have some interest in digging that will need managed. Moxie has been good with older kids. She is very dog-social and passive/polite with other animals. She loves playing with like minded dogs but is not very high energy by nature. Moxie is still learning to trust people but seems to be friendly with cats and livestock. She is beginning to work on basic obedience and leash manners. Her sneaky skill at fitting thru any 4 inch gap under or around fencing is amazing but she hasn’t tried to go over any of the 3 foot fences at her foster home. Moxie sports a unique style with a wire coat, long tail with a cute little white flag on the very end and back dewclaws that she has been great about letting us trim. She has sporadic white hairs throughout her coat. Moxie is spayed, chipped, up to date on vaccinations, and parasite control. She prefers high value treats and loves attention once she warms up to you. She has a fun attitude and her favorite things are wrestling with other dogs and using tug toys. Moxie is familiar with baby gates & xpens at her current foster home. She did great for a minor face trim to keep her eyes clear and mustache/beard cleaned up. Moxie’s perfect family will be moderately active and put consistent time into socializing her with new people and places. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. She is being fostered in La Grande, Or and her adoption fee is $400. To meet this sweet girl, apply at http://herduneededahome.com/adoption-process/. If you have questions email hunahapps@gmail.com.
