Story
Missy is a a 2-year old cattle dog mix. She is a sweet, timid girl looking for a patient foster or adopter. While she is comfortable with other dogs, she's still coming out of her shell when it comes to the human world and all the activity and noise that goes along with it. We are looking for a foster or adopter who is savvy with dog body language and willing to be patient with Missy's anxiety. Missy came to us from Fresno in the end of January. She was shy and fearful when she first arrived off of transport. At her first vet exam we discovered a heart murmur. A cardiac consult and echocardiogram in March found pulmonic stenosis. (https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952783) Missy's is a moderate case which causes extra pressure on the heart muscles, but is not causing any other symptoms, abnormalities or quality of life issues. At this time she's not recommended for corrective surgery (balloon valvuloplasty). A follow up echocardiogram later in the year is recommended. Missy has come out of her shell in the past few months, but is still anxious about loud noises, fast movements, vehicles and generally being out in the world. She will take treats from new people after a few minutes, but is still apprehensive of new folks. She does well with other dogs. No reactivity, aggression or resource guarding with dogs or humans. The other heelers in her foster home have helped her come out of her shell. She's started playing with toys and chewing on nylon chews recently. We've been going on decompression walks on the property where there aren't a lot of loud noises or car traffic to frighten her. She will reluctantly get in a vehicle and does better when she is crated then if she is loose or tethered. If you're interested in fostering Missy, please fill out a foster app on our website: pnwcdr.org/foster Missy is spayed, microchipped and has received age-appropriate core vaccines. Missy is being fostered in Astoria and her adoption fee is $390. If you're interested in adopting Missy, please fill out an adoption application on our website: pnwcdr.org/adopt Please note: We do not do DNA testing on all our foster dogs. The breed description may be our best guess based on the dog’s appearance, mother’s appearance, paperwork, etc. Our Adoption Process: - Adoption Application - Phone Convo - Meet & Greet - Home Visit - Application Approval - Adoption Fee & Contract Our adoption application is at pnwcdr.org/adopt Curious about fostering? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! Meet Tuxie! She's a truly incredible dog. Before we dive into her best qualities, though, lets address what makes it difficult for her to find a long-term foster or adopter. Tuxie is a gal who needs a slow and polite introduction to pup pals. She needs to be an old dog home as she likes to be queen of her castle. After that, she lets her silly friendly side shine. Also, she doesn't love that hard to interpret, sometimes chaotic energy that toddlers often bring and would be best suited with a family with older or no kids. Lastly, she has been diagnosed with EPI, but wait, don't go, before you decide you don't want a medical dog, listen up! EPI means her pancreas doesn't produce enough digestive enzymes, so she needs a little help with a powered supplement. Its actually very easy to give her and affordable to boot. 1.5 teaspoons are mixed in her food. This also means she can't have treats unless its within 20 mins of eating her meals. Ok, now into what makes her shine: She loves cuddles with her people She is the biggest couch potato She is such a polite walker on leash She is a great watch dog and doesn't bark unless she hears concerning sounds  She is equally content watching a movie with you on the couchey as she is gearing up for a multi mile hike  She's very intelligent and picks up on new skills an commands quickly and easily  She will be the most loyal girl once she is given a chance to be your shadow She can adapt to house or apartment living Please considering giving this girl the best life she deserves. If you are interested, fill out an application today- CLICK HERE! Her adoption fee is $450 and  covers vaccinations, Rabies, spay/neuter, and microchip.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 1, 2025, 10:37 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! ****COURTESY POST**** ACE is a male Boxer Mix, rescued, trained and ready for adoption or foster today!&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Ace is a 2-year-old dog who originally came from Next Door. His previous family decided to give him up because he is absolutely obsessed with his ball and tends to guard his toys. While this might sound a bit quirky, it’s just part of who he is! Ace has completed 4 weeks of training, which has helped him develop better manners, but due to his strong attachment to his ball, he would be best suited as the only dog in the home. When he gets his ball, he really gets “kookoo for cocoa puffs!” Despite his intense love for his toys, Ace is friendly with other dogs and enjoys being around people, especially kids who are respectful of his space. He still has a lot of puppy energy, so he loves to play, go on walks, and stay active. Ace was initially posted on Next Door before being surrendered to a shelter. Luckily, he was rescued just in time, saved from being euthanized on his scheduled date. Ace is an affectionate, happy little guy with a lot of love to give. He just needs someone who understands his quirks and is ready to give him the attention and care he deserves. If you’re looking for a fun, energetic, and loving companion, Ace could be the perfect fit! Around 1-2years old Ace is a medium energy level dog. He Will lay down and relax and chew on a bone or sleep peacefully in his crate. He loves walks, he’s toy and food motivated. He knows the following commands: sit, down, wait, stay and look pawetty. He is potty and crate trained. Ace can walk well on a leash. He can heel and halt! Trained by @valkyriesofvalor_k9s Ace is ready for adoption!!! If interested in Ace, contact: Wendy Simon (619) 775-8892 https://www.findmydogahome.org &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Find My Dog A Home Foundation is a Non Profit 501(c)3 rescues dogs from high kill shelters, rehabilitates, trains & finds forever homes for dogs in need.&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2025, 1:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! Meet Sweet Pea! She is a happy homebody that would love her own nice quiet home! She is good with other dogs, puppies and cats. She is a shy, sweet girl that needs some extra time to adjust to her new home. Sweet Pea has learned to love her walks prancing along. She would probably do best in a "foster to adopt" situation because meeting new people can be a little scary for her. Sweet Pea loves her crate and finds comfort in there during the day and sleeping at night. Once you gain her trust, she is a loyal companion. Sweet Pea is around 5.5 yrs old and was DNA tested by her foster. She shows a total of 10 different breeds, with her top 2 breeds are American Staffordshire terrier (39%) and Chihuahua (25%). She even has a little smidge of Dachshund and Poodle too! If you are interested in meeting Sweet Pea, Please fill out an adoption application by clicking HERE. Her adoption fee is $450 and includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, microchip and flea medication.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2025, 11:59 am
