Meet Draco: A Strong-Willed, Loyal Dog Seeking an Experienced, Loving HomeIntroducing Draco, a 3-year-old dog with a big personality and a heart full of loyalty! Draco is a proud, independent dog who thrives when he’s the center of attention. He’s looking for a home with an experienced owner who can provide the structure, boundaries, and care he needs to thrive. Draco is strong-willed and has some unique traits that require a special kind of family—a home where he can feel safe, loved, and well-guided. Draco needs a canine and feline free homeThough Draco has a high prey drive, loves his toys, and enjoys car rides, he does have some behavioral needs and quirks that must be managed. With the right training and environment, Draco will reward his new family with unwavering loyalty and affection.Training & Behavior Needs:High Prey Drive: Draco has a very high prey drive, which means he needs a home without other animals, including cats and small animals. He’s not a good fit for a home with kids or other pets, as he can be reactive, especially in high-energy environments.Resource Guarding: Draco is known to resource guard, so managing food, toys, and space will be important in his new home. An experienced owner familiar with this behavior can work with Draco to teach him boundaries and respect for personal space.Flight Risk: Draco has a tendency to bolt, so it’s crucial that he is kept on a leash when outside and in a secure area at all times. A secure, enclosed yard or a well-fenced area will be essential for his safety.Food Stealer & Allergies: Draco has a bit of a sneaky side—he likes to steal food, so his new family should be prepared to manage his food temptations. He also has a food allergy and is on a grain-free diet to manage his health. Occasionally, he will get rashes, so attention to his diet and any changes in his condition will be important for his well-being.Leash Training & Boundaries: Draco is still working on basic training and does tend to pull on the leash, but he’s highly treat-motivated, making him a prime candidate for continued leash training with the right owner. He’s still learning boundaries and will need a family who can be firm, consistent, and patient as he grows. Draco is leash reactive. ( Leash reactivity in dogs refers to when a dog becomes overly excited, anxious, or aggressive when on a leash, often in response to other dogs, people, or distractions. This behavior

Introducing Malik: A Social, Spirited Husky with a Whole Lot to Say!Meet Malik, a stunning two-year-old male Husky who is full of personality, charm, and that classic Husky flair! With his expressive eyes and chatty nature, Malik is looking for a home that understands what makes Huskies tick—and one that’s ready to welcome a loving, energetic companion who thrives on adventure and connection.Whether he’s “talking” to you about his day or pulling you along on a brisk walk, Malik is a dog who brings joy and excitement wherever he goes.A Few of Malik’s Favorite Things:People! Malik absolutely loves people and is quick to greet new friends with enthusiasm. He thrives on human companionship and would do well with someone who can spend time bonding with him daily.Other Dogs: Malik has shown positive interactions with other dogs during his time with us. Like with all potential placements, a meet and greet is required to ensure a good match—but we’re optimistic he could enjoy a dog sibling with the right personality fit.Walks & Exploration: Malik is a strong, athletic dog who gets excited for walks and tends to pull on leash when first heading out. Once he settles into the rhythm, he’s a joy to walk. With consistent leash training, he’ll only get better!“Talking” Like a True Husky: Malik is a vocal guy! He doesn’t bark aimlessly, but he’ll “talk” to you with classic Husky woo-woos, howls, and expressive grumbles. It’s his way of sharing excitement, asking for attention, or just joining in on the conversation. It’s charming—and very Husky!Needs & Ideal Home:Cat Status: Malik has not yet been tested with cats.Husky-Savvy Home Preferred: Like many Huskies, Malik is intelligent, independent, and full of energy. He’ll benefit from a home that’s familiar with the breed’s needs and quirks—including their tendency to vocalize, their desire for mental stimulation, and their occasional mischievous streak!Enrichment Matters:Malik is a bright, active dog who needs more than just walks to thrive. He would benefit greatly from a regular enrichment schedule—a structured routine that includes mental and physical activities designed to keep his mind sharp and his body exercised. Think puzzle feeders, scent games, frozen Kongs, flirt pole sessions, and off-leash romps in a secure area. Keeping Malik busy and engaged will help prevent boredom-related behaviors and make him an even happier hou

Story
Introducing Tulip: A Shy but Sweet Bulldog Cross Looking for a Loving HomeMeet Tulip, a 1-year-old Bulldog mix who may be a bit shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she becomes an affectionate and loving companion. Tulip is looking for a calm and patient home where she can slowly build confidence and feel safe. While she may be reserved around new people, once she`s comfortable, she`ll happily shower you with love and affection.Tulip has a playful side and enjoys interacting with other dogs, but she will need a proper introduction to ensure compatibility. She does have a high prey drive and tends to chase anything smaller than her, so she`ll do best in a home without small animals or young children. She is a strong girl on the leash, so continued training will help her become a well-mannered walking partner.Tulip also has one little quirk: she’s not a fan of having the back of her neck touched. It’s nothing personal; she simply prefers to keep that area to herself. For this reason, Tulip is looking for an adult-only home where her boundaries are respected and she can fully trust her family.Training & Behavior Needs:Shy at First: Tulip can be a little shy and reserved when meeting new people, but with time and patience, she will warm up and become very affectionate. She`s looking for a family that can respect her pace and allow her to adjust gradually.High Prey Drive: Tulip has a strong prey drive and may chase anything smaller than her. She is not suitable for homes with small animals or cats. Her instinct to chase could also apply to smaller dogs, so supervision is important until she`s fully settled.Leash Manners: Tulip tends to pull on the leash, so she will benefit from continued leash training. With positive reinforcement and patience, she can learn to walk more politely and calmly on a leash.Dog Socialization: Tulip enjoys interacting with other dogs, but she is selective. A meet-and-greet is required to ensure compatibility, and a proper introduction is essential.Handling: Tulip is not a fan of being manhandled. She will let you know when she`s uncomfortable, so it’s important that her new family respects her space and boundaries. She`s not aggressive but prefers gentle, calm interactions. Why Tulip?Tulip is a sweet and loving dog who will thrive in a patient and understanding home. She bonds deeply with those she trusts, and once she feels safe, she will reward y

Story
Meet Dodge – A One-Year-Old Labrador Mix Ready to Steal Your Heart! If you`re looking for a loyal and loving companion, look no further than Dodge! This sweet, one-year-old Labrador mix is a bit shy at first, but with patience and the right environment, he quickly opens up and becomes the affectionate friend you`ve been waiting for. His heart is full of love, and he is ready to share it with a family that will appreciate his gentle nature.Dodge is a friendly, people-oriented dog, but he’s particularly fond of female canine companions. Whether it’s playing or simply hanging out together, he enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with a well-matched canine friend. He`s also extremely gentle with his toys – no destructive chewing here! Dodge cherishes his belongings and enjoys playing in a calm, respectful way.Training Needs & Requirements:Dodge is still a young dog, and while he’s made great strides in his socialization, he will need some continued training to help him become the best version of himself. Here are a few key things to keep in mind:Shyness & Socialization: Dodge may take a little time to warm up to new people, especially in unfamiliar environments. Consistent exposure to positive experiences will help him gain confidence, and treats are an excellent motivator to make new interactions feel rewarding. He`ll do best with patient, experienced adopters who understand that trust takes time.Training & Obedience: As a one-year-old, Dodge is at a perfect age for continued basic obedience training. He responds well to positive reinforcement techniques (especially when treats are involved!). Basic commands like sit, stay, and come will help him feel more secure and allow you to form a stronger bond. Consistency will be key to setting him up for success.Exercise Needs: Dodge is an active and playful dog, so regular exercise is essential to keep him healthy and happy. Daily walks, play sessions, and perhaps some light agility work would help him burn off his energy and stimulate his mind.Adult-Only Home: Dodge is best suited for an adult-only home where he can receive the calm, structured environment he needs. While he’s a sweet boy, he might be overwhelmed by the noise and unpredictability of young children, so an adult-only household or one with older, respectful children would be ideal. Why Dodge?Dodge is not just a pet – he`s a friend waiting to fill your

Story
Introducing Harry: A Sensitive Soul Searching for Safety and StabilityMeet Harry, a 1-year-old Cane Corso x Golden Retriever mix who’s still learning that the world can be a safe place. With his striking looks and large, sturdy frame, Harry may appear confident from afar—but underneath that exterior is a deeply sensitive dog who’s currently feeling overwhelmed and shut down in his new environment.Harry is what we call a “shut-down dog”—a dog who is emotionally withdrawn and not engaging fully with the world around him. This behavior is often a response to fear, stress, or past trauma. Instead of barking, lunging, or showing overt fear, Harry shuts down by retreating inward: he avoids eye contact, stays motionless, and doesn’t respond much to stimuli. It’s his way of coping with a world that feels unpredictable and, at times, scary.Where Harry Is NowHarry has not yet shown us much of his personality, and we’re taking things at his pace. He currently has no leash manners, and walks are more about helping him adjust to the world than structured training. While he has allowed gentle pets from trusted individuals, he remains cautious and reserved overall. At this time, we do not have any information about Harry’s compatibility with cats. He’s still too shut down for us to safely or fairly assess his comfort around other animals or in new social situations. As he begins to trust and feel secure, we hope to learn more about what kind of home would be the best fit for him. What Harry NeedsHarry needs a calm, patient, and experienced adopter—someone who understands the needs of fearful dogs and is willing to go slow, give space, and let trust develop naturally. He is not ready for a busy household or lots of stimulation. He’ll need:A quiet, adult-only homeA secure, fenced yard (as leash walks are difficult right now)A low-pressure environment with no expectations while he decompressesA trauma-informed approach to care and training, using only positive reinforcementWhy Take a Chance on Harry?Harry may not be ready to shower you with affection, play fetch, or go on long walks—but beneath that guarded exterior is a dog who wants to feel safe. With time, structure, and a compassionate heart, he has the potential to grow into a trusting and loyal companion. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping the most vulnerable—who believes in patience, healing, and the qu
