Story
Ko Koi AVAILABLE for ADOPTION! Located in Quebec  Koi is a stunning red rough coat neutered 5 year young male.  He is a typical chow! Quiet unless there’s a reason to alert you, not fond of strangers but dedicated to his trusted person, lazy but still enjoys a good walk.   Koi walks pretty well on leash except when he sees a squirrel!  He’s NOT reactive to other dogs…he actually kind of likes them… just not to live with.  Kio doesn’t want to share the attention of his person with any other animals.  He knows his basic commands, give paw, down and will still pretty for a yummy frozen treat.  He’s actually got a little sweet tooth so watch you goodies!   Again, Koi is looking for a home with no other animals and an experienced handler who understands this misunderstood breed. He will do his job protecting you and your house… and hopefully be your only love-bug! He’s best with young adults 14 or older who understand he’s not a giant Teddy bear even though he looks like one.   If you think you’re home would be a safe place and are interested in a calm gentle companion, please apply for this boy who needs a loving forever home. https://www.sasdv.ca/animal/kio/    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We only respond to serious inquiries. Story
Seth is an 11 month old pup, looking for a forever home. He is a gorgeous black rough coat neutered boy that’s up to date on vaccinations. Unfortunately his previous owner’s schedule changed leaving this young guy home alone for far too long.   Seth is a typical chow who meets people cautiously, but once he trust you, he’s all love.   Located in Mississauga Ontario  Please apply online at merlinshope.com            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We only respond to serious inquiries. Story
Lovely  Lovely is exactly that…a pretty little 3 year old,  spayed,  rough coat female. She was saved from a puppy mill so hasn’t been well socialized…But like most chows, once she knows and trusts you (and her family or circle of familiar people) she turns into a happy goofy loving girl. She’s easily won over by treats, probably because food wasn’t readily available throughout her life.  She was very thin upon arrival, however proper diet and care has made a difference in her coat and body weight.   What lovely really loves, is CATS! She is most playful and comfortable around her feline friends.  She hopes her new family will include a dog friendly kitty sibling…or even better, adopt her buddy…a playful kitten at the shelter.   This quiet calm girl is looking for a chow experienced home or patient people who will give her a bit of time to settle in. In return, she will do her best to keep you and your home safe, and be a great loving companion.  Please consider Lovely to make your family complete.   Located in Quebec… Apply to merlinshope.com    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We only respond to serious inquiries. Story
7 year old female - birth date: December 30/2016 In foster care since: March 24, 2024 Fostered in Dorval, Quebec Good with: large male dogs, older children Adoption fee: $300 Meet Rosette! Sister to Toxon (fostered in Southern Ontario) and the ultimate love bug who is ready to find her forever family. Rosette is a 7 year old Alaskan mix who was finally able to retire from the dog sledding industry in March. She is hoping to find her family before the year ends, so that she can celebrate her 8th birthday AND the new year with her new people! Have you ever heard the phrase “from sled dog to bed hog?” Well, Rosette, lovingly known by her foster family as “Rosie”, is the epitome of just that, as you can see from her photos! Whether it’s the couch, her dog bed, or YOUR bed, Rosie will settle in and make herself comfy. Rosie is looking for a family that will provide her with a calm, supportive, and patient environment while she continues to gain her confidence in her new found life. As her foster mom says “Rosie has been serving others her whole life, and now it’s time for us to serve her.” Rosie still has some challenges to overcome, although each day she is becoming more and more the confident dog that she always should have been. She does have some reservations with men, as many of the sleddies rescued in March do, and may take a little while to warm up to them, but with love and patience, she has been able to overcome this fear. A home without cats or small dogs would be ideal for Rosie, though she is great with kids and large dogs. Rosie is the sweetest girl who adores curling up on the couch for a cuddle and a good nap. She’s a simple girl who is loving her retired life and all of the new things she is discovering every day. She has learned the joy of playing with toys, and she loves to run around the yard with her ball. This sweet girl is beyond ready for her forever people! She is fully potty trained, and her leash training continues to improve every day, especially with the right harness and a positive attitude from her people. If you are looking for a dog who you can build a deep connection with, get all the cuddles with, and who will bring you an insane amount of joy, then Rosie is waiting for you! Rosette is spayed, up to date on relevant vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. While she is fostered in Quebec, we do accept adoptive homes throughout Ontario.
