Story
Meet beautiful, Kendall. Kendall was found as a stray yet is a wonderful, friendly and sociable girl. She is sweet and well-behaved as well as house trained. Kendall would do well with someone who is home most of the time or who can bring her along on adventures, since she becomes very attached. She wants to be beside her foster mom all of the time! She gets along well with the other dogs in the home and would do just fine with a dog savvy cat. She and her cat foster brother even cuddle on the couch together. She has not been tested with kids but it is likely she would do well with them as well. Kendall likes to chill with her person but also has a silly side and still likes to play. She is also very food motivated which is great for training. She is not too sure what to do with toys but has shown some interest. She is good on leash but can pull when she sees a squirrel. She is also not a vocal girl. Kendall is basically the perfect girl looking for a family who will shower her with all of the love she so deserves. Kendall is currently being fostered in the Niagara region. If interested in Kendall, please submit an application at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1p-khckl3dapTHj1be7ymZRGybUXtPnI9lw-QUB6cwm8/edit?pli=1

Story
Name: Gunner Breed: Mixed DOB/Sex: 1/19/18. MN. Known health issues: None at this time. Good with: Most dogs. Can be pushy if he can get away with it. Resource guards from other dogs. NO DOG PARKS. NO CATS. NO BIRDS. NO POCKET PETS. Adult only home. Bite history: Yes Needs: An active sporting/hiking home, or working home. Gunner is 100% AMAZING. This guy has drive, heart, and the work ethic that makes him everything I would want in a sport dog. He's fast, athletic, and never quits. His abilities are only limited by my own. Gunner participates in Dock Diving and LIVES for it. He now sports a PB of 22" in distance, and 7.00sec in speed. And I know he has more in him! He may be getting older, but each year, he improves! Gunner has had a few opportunities to try out lure coursing, and also greatly enjoys it. He recently started toss & fetch disc league and is also addicted. With one on one dedication, the sky is the limit! We've attended a bikejoring seminar, a carting seminar and a shed hunt seminar. Anything you can throw at this guy - he is down for! Gunner is not for the novice handler, and needs someone experienced with high-drive dogs. He's flashy, loud, and sure to grab attention. He settles reasonably well in the home, as long as his daily needs are met, and is generally an easy keeper. He will let himself out of his crate, if bored and looking for something to do. He's good for grooming and the vet, though muzzled as a precaution. He is neutral out and about in the world, and easy to take everywhere. If you are his person, he's down for snuggles, and is very physical with his affection. He's super clean, and even on the muddiest days, somehow comes in relatively clean, even after going hard. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him, and for the right person, there is no better partner. Gunner is happy as an only dog, or can live with the right matched companions. He is neutral with most, as long as they respect his space. He will resource guard food/toys that he values from other dogs. No cats, birds, or small prey animals for this guy. Gunner will only be placed in a home, that will allow him to reach his full potential. A sport home is a MUST for this guy. If you are looking for a competitive partner, Gunner is your guy! ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Chipotle D.O.B./Sex: ~Oct 2018, MN Breed: Unknown Mix Known health issues: Slightly sensitive trachea. Does not cause any issues at this time. Good with: Select dogs. Does not share high value items. NO CATS. NO DOG PARKS. Adult only home. Chipotle is a pint sized (~55lb) Energizer Bunny and fabulous little sport prospect for the dedicated enthusiast. He excels at anything he tries, and has a 'never quit' type personality. Anything you're up for, he's your man! Chipotle currently enjoys, and competes in the local House League at K9 Fun Zone. He now boasts at personal best of 20' 5" in distance, and 6.94 sec in speed retrieve!! He has been improving consistently, and I hope to expose him to the vertical jump soon. He is only limited by my lack of individual time to spend training his form. https://youtube.com/shorts/0RmX-C_wm3U I had the opportunity to take him Lure Coursing at Laliberte Farm. He did great! A new sport for him, and I hope to bring him back again soon. Here's a video of one of his run attempts on his first ever day! https://youtu.be/nKYog9lwOe0 550y course. I have confidence his visual tracking of the lure will only increase, as well as his speed. Chipotle bonds super well to his person, and is more of a one person type dog. He is not a fan of strangers handling him, and needs time spent building mutual respect. He is very affectionate with his person. He is a resource guarder, and needs a home that will appropriately manage these tendencies. He is not a soft dog, and will push back, and take whenever given the opportunity. If you channel this into his work, he gives back 100%. Chipotle is a pleasure to walk, and can go just about anywhere. He is used to, and works well on the prong. He keeps to himself, and generally ignores the world around him. We took a video on a walk, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-IA-7NpXso Chipotle is now in his fourth year in rescue, and has only ever received a single application 💔 He doesn't deserve to be continuously overlooked. He has heart, he has drive, and needs only that one special person to fall in love with him. Let's make 2024 his year! ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Griffin Breed: GSD Age/Sex: 10/7/2017/MN Known health issues: Seasonal Allergies, Addisons Disease Good with: Most dogs NO CATS. NO KIDS. NO DOG PARKS. Adult only home. Bite history: Yes Griffin is one of the biggest goofballs to come through Inugoya. He is definitely the class clown, and enjoys making you laugh! He is confident, sassy, and opinionated, but also incredibly sweet, endearing, and affectionate. Griffin is not an easy dog; he has behavioural management needs, anxiety issues, and has been recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease (Feb 2024). But none of this stops his zest for life! Even with his challenges, he is one of my absolute favourites, and a dog that I can always rely on. He is very environmentally confident, and easy to take everywhere. Once you have his trust and bond, his eyes are solely for you. Griffin is a very active boy, and loves to go on adventures. Hiking, swimming, running; he's your guy! He's dabbled in agility and lure coursing, and enjoys a game of fetch. He does get easily bored, and likes to keep things changed up and interesting. Griffin is a very vocal guy, and will tell you stories for days. He has excellent manners, lots of basic obedience skills under his belt, and is good for the vet and groomer. He is muzzle trained for times when needed. He is not oversized, and a perfect travel buddy. He can be picky with some dogs, but gets along with most of the foster crew here, both male and female. He however isn't looking for a doggie social circle, he wants to be with his person, and would be absolutely fine solo. Griffin is one of our longest rescue residents. He arrived Feb 2020, and has been waiting for his forever family to find him, ever since. He is a boy with extra challenges, but he is the most amazing, devoted soul. If you are Shepherd experienced, and are looking for a truly special guy, please consider Griffin ❤️ ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Pépé Breed: Mixed DOB/Sex: May 16th, 2022/MN Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: All people, including (dog savvy) kids! NO DOGS. NO CATS. NO DOG PARKS Pépé is an absolutely fantastic, fun loving boy. He is lean, long legged, and very athletic! Though you wouldn't necessarily expect it from his mixed breed appearance, and livestock guardian grandparentage, he definitely has strong sport potential. He absolutely loves to play with toys, retrieve, swim, and has been started chasing disc rollers! While his engagement focus and drive to work with you is not as strong as say a German Shepherd, his independent thought just adds a little extra fun to your training challenges. He is still however very engaged, and has strong potential to go in a lot of directions. He's not a boy to sit on the sidelines, and is not going to be happy in a home that doesn't give him a focus and outlet for his high energy and drive. Pépé has matured into an individual that gets very jealous and possessive of his handler around other dogs. He has some reactivity, but I have zero problem taking him out on controlled pack group hikes, or other such structured environments. But he is absolutely not a dog to have canine socials, and is looking for a home as an only dog. He absolutely can, and will start a fight. No cats for the same reason, and I do not wish to see any cats harmed. His prey drive is also quite strong. I would also not trust him arouns livestock, or small pocket pets/birds in the home. He MUST be the only pet. Pépé absolutely LOVES people! He has become a bit more reserved in his teenage months, but is generally still quite social with proper introductions. He is happy to live in a home with all ages, with proper boundaries and structure. He would not be tolerant of rambunctious kids, grabby kids, being stepped on/tripped over etc. He's not a pushover dog, and if you're the type of person that likes to use force, or coercion to try and get your way, it's not going to be a successful relationship. He definitely is a dog that needs to see the benefit from his side as well, but is truly a joy to work with. For the active family who loves to adventure, explore the wilderness, and dabble in some sports whether backyard, or beginner entry level, he will make an amazing companion! Pépé is good for the vet, tolerant of grooming, excellent in his crate, and has decent general manners. He will very much benefit from training with his new family, to be the best canine companion he can be. He's fairly quiet, and generally no trouble, as long as his exercise, and mental needs have been met for the day. He does still get car sick, although he's getting a lot better with it, and I'm hopeful he will eventually completely grow out of it. Pépé is a dog with many, many wonderful qualities. Yes he's a mixed breed, but that doesn't mean he's any less awesome than the German Shepherds or Rottweilers here at the rescue. To meet him is to fall in love with him, so all it takes is that one application, for him to find forever happiness. If this people loving, adventure boy sounds like your perfect match, please message for an application to start the process. He looks forward to meeting you soon! He is not for a first time dog owner, or apartment/condo type living. Pépé is very emotionally connected, and incredibly intelligent. He is independent, but balanced with a nice drive to work. Toy drive is stronger than food drive. Settles wonderfully in the home, and always wants to be near me. He has clear boundaries, and works best with cooperative care, and clear direction. Good for the vet, and groomer. ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Atlas Breed: German Shepherd Dog Sex/DOB: MN 2/22/22 Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Confident, calm dogs. Patient Teenagers, that can actively participate in his training, may be okay. Dog savvy cats and 110% commitment to training if he is to live with cats. He is very determined/grabby in his play. NO DOG PARKS. Atlas is fun loving, goofy, very affectionate and handsome! BUT he is not the dog for everybody. If you LOVE training and enjoy working with more challenging dogs, read on! Atlas is a dog that bonds intensely to one person. If you want a dog that only has eyes for you, Atlas is your guy! He has come a very long way since arriving in my care, and is now quite confident out and about as long as everyone is neutral. But he is not a dog to let strangers approach or try and interact with. He has boundaries, and needs them respected. Atlas is it go anywhere, do anything type of dog. He absolutely loves to be with his person! Typical to many High Drive type shepherds, he can be a little vocal, and having patience is his biggest challenge. But he truly wants to work with you and cooperate. He does still have a little bit of handler conflict, and while he's very mouthy and oral, struggles with games of tug and similar because he does not want to create conflict with his handler. But he absolutely loves to bite and grab onto things. It's a work in progress, and with consistency and one-on-one I know this is a barrier he will overcome. Atlas is very athletic, and absolutely loves the water! He would do well in a wide variety of sports, and I would encourage his involvement due to his working brain needs, as well as confidence building. He's not likely a dog that's going to take you to multiple ribbons, but he's going to have an absolute blast with you, and you will achieve many personal goals together. He is absolutely not a dog for somebody that just wants a casual companion, and needs that daily engagement, to keep him happy and balanced. Due to his discomfort with new people, his successful adopters must be willing to meet him several times, before he will be potentially ready to leave. Patience, and time are key. He has made great strides, but change will be hard for him if that bond isn't there. I do not want to see him regress. His successful home must be committed to continuing his confidence building, and expanding his world and activities so that he can be his absolute best! Atlas is absolutely FULL of potential, and I can see him doing well in a wide variety of sport activities as he continues to gain confidence. If you're up for the challenge, and Atlas has caught your eye, please apply here: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/36354114-niagara-falls-ontario-german-shepherd-dog ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
