Story
Temperament - Rusty is an athletic and intelligent boy. - He enjoys opportunities to hang out with his people, go for long leashed walks. - Rusty came to us straight from 16 months tied outside, because of this, he is still learning manners. He needs reinforcement of his good behaviours. - Due to his limited time indoors, he could be curious initially in his new home. - He loves to snuggle on the couch and have your attention. - Bonds strongly with his people and rewards their efforts with love, loyalty and trust. - Rusty walks nicely on leash, takes good verbal cues, and greets people politely, but can get over excited. But in time and with consistency, this will be easy to manage. - Rusty may exhibit some reactivity to other dogs while behind a fence, but rarely reacts on leash, especially if he’s content, and busy. - Rusty has trouble socializing with other dogs, so interacting with other dogs is difficult, partially because of his herding instincts and his lack of socialization at a young age. Owner Suitability - Rusty’s energy level is moderate to high and would benefit from a family that can consistently commit to an exercise and ongoing training regiment. Rusty needs boundaries set immediately in his new home, and ample outlets for his energy and smarts. He would benefit greatly from classes in any canine sport which will also strengthen the bond with his person. - Rusty does exhibit prey drive; squirrels and birds and smaller animals would likely attract his attention. He needs to live in a home without cats, other small animals or young children. - He would be a good fit for a home with one or more adults. He could possibly do well in a home with dog-savvy kids around 12 years or older. - Rusty’s new family would need to recognize the things that stimulate him, resulting in his drive escalating, and understand when it’s time to remove him from the situation. Consistent reinforcement of his good behaviour will be important. - Rusty spent more than 1 yr of his life tied up. This CANNOT happen in his new home, as he could regress and become unmanageable in the house. - A fenced yard is a must. Given his natural curiosity and drive, he’ll need a secure space to be off-leash at home to continue to thrive. - Rusty is not a dog-park dog and is not well-suited to large social gatherings off leash. He is a very sweet and bright boy that would excel in a quiet, routine environment where he can be leash walked daily, with an opportunity to run without other dogs, and to explore, learn and play interactive games.

Story
Harley is a 5 year old black female half Mastiff and half American Staffordshire Terrier born in October 2018. She’ll jump on you and kiss you to death. Most affectionate dog ever. She’s fixed. And very happy. Very good with kids as well. She’s very playful and energetic. Needs a place with land and a family with an active lifestyle. Unsure about her being reactive to other dogs as she has lived with her pack for awhile. In the past, she got along with the house cat, but haven’t been around a cat for awhile. This is a courtesy listing. If you are interested in providing a forever home for one, or both of the dogs, please contact Andrew directly at bugnetandrew@gmail.com

Story
Female, Yellow lab , approximately 1 yr available to the right home. “Dixie” is spayed and fully vaccinated. She loves the outdoors. A home where she could be the only dog and have a yard would be best. Dixie is working on her manners, has lots of energy and is crate trained. She is not good with cats and untested with small children. Dixie was adopted from a municipal shelter at the end of April. Unfortunately she does not get along with one of the other dogs in the house. This is a courtesy listing. If you are interested in giving Dixie her forever home, please contact Virginia at vgregoire73@gmail.com.

She may be a bit reserved when first meeting new people but warms up quickly. - Can exhibit some reactivity to other dogs when on-leash or behind a fence, but less as she’s gets older. - With proper introductions and supervised visits, she has enjoyed playtime with other dogs. She does best with calmer dogs that tolerate her rambunctious style of play - Very happy to relax and cuddle once she’s had her required amount of exercise. - Moderate-high prey drive. Likes to chase squirrels and birds. - Can be slightly destructive when bored. - Not much of a swimmer, but she enjoys playing in water. - Responds well to verbal cues and attempts to redirect her attention. - Her leash skills and basic obedience are good. She seems to enjoy one-on-one training sessions. Owner Suitability -Enjoys being a part of day-to-day activities and would benefit from a home in which people are around most of the day. -Would benefit from daily walks and opportunities to play throughout the day. - Loves to be off leash with people. - She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard as she is a curious girl and enjoys opportunities to explore. - Best suited to a home with no other dogs. - Can happily live in a home with cats. She does show occasional interest in playing, but is very respectful of the cat not wanting to engage.

Story
Age: 3 Birthday: December 8, 2021 Weight: 83.5 lbs Up to date vaccinations If you have structure in your life Sadie will fit in seamlessly. She is very sweet and loves to participate in predictable day to day family interactions. Health Issues: Beginning signs of hip dysplasia – no official diagnosis (no medication necessary) but the Vet had flagged it. Managed with a healthy diet, regular walks/exercise and treats for joint mobility. Temperament: - Playful and kind spirited girl. - She guards her food and will become reactive if she thinks another animal will come near her food – we currently feed her in the crate. - She is intelligent and responds very well to training. (As long as the environment is predictable) - Friendly with people when not on a leash. She may be a bit reserved when first meeting new people but warms up quickly. Good with kids but needs to be off-leash when interacting with people. - Can exhibit some reactivity to other dogs and people when on-leash or behind a fence, but responds very well to training. However, when Sadie is in the training mindset she requires space from other animals. - With proper introductions and supervised visits, she has enjoyed playtime with other dogs. She does best with dogs that can tolerate or even enjoy her desire to play rough. - Very happy to relax and cuddle. - Likes to chase squirrels and birds. - Will counter surf when bored or if food is left out. - Not much of a swimmer, but LOVES when you play with the hose. - Responds very well to verbal cues and attempts to redirect her attention. - Her leash skills and basic obedience are good. She seems to enjoy both one on one time and time with the whole family. - She has had daily, structured walks and really loves them. - Loves to play tug of war but does not quite understand the idea of fetch without having treats on hand. Owner Suitability - Sadie needs boundaries set immediately in her new home, and ample outlets for her energy and smarts. She would benefit greatly from enrichment activities and training sessions on a regular basis. - She does not seem to have separation anxiety because she was crate trained her entire life, but she really likes to be around her people. So she would benefit from having some sort of balanced crate schedule (currently she eats and sleeps in her crate and will choose to lay in there when she is tired but otherwise has free roam of the house) - Outdoors Sadie loves to be off leash with training but can be a bit of a wanderer so would benefit greatly from a fence (although she can manage without one when watched closely or leashed). - Best suited for a home with no other pets (or dogs that can tolerate her curiosity). She is gentle most of the time but she is in your face. - She must live in a home with no cats. Cats can be very unpredictable and it spooks her into reactivity. This is a courtesy listing. If you are interested in giving Sadie her forever home, please contact Eric at ewmclean89@gmail.com

Story
Jet is a 3 yr old Red Labrador. She loves people, once she gets to know and trusts them. Great in the home, can be left up to 3 hours. (No Crate). She’s very athletic, loves to swim, soccer, dock diving. She is very bright, shows much initiative and learns quickly. She responds well to positive, holistic handling, vocal praise, touch and treat rewards. She has excellent recall and obedience. Dog reactive, dependant on the other dog’s body language. (white dogs especially). No Small animals. No children. High drive, from a working line. Jet will thrive in a rural environment as the only dog, no other pets. An active lifestyle from walking around the property to swimming, dock diving, water sports, soccer, and Frisbee. Jet is a lovely genuine girl with lots of character. She loves cuddles on the couch and bedtime cuddles. She loves to travel in the car and be your sidekick. Jet needs to do things during the day, from sitting in the sunshine, helping in the garden or doing things with you. Jet is obedient and knows her commands. She comes from a working line so has high drive. She will need consistency, patience and reassurance to help her adapt to changes and for her to have a thriving life. This is a courtesy listing.
