Story
Konjo is a 1-year-old Husky who is waiting for his new home. He is an active boy who loves to play and has that typical Husky personality. Konjo is learning to walk on leash and would do well with an Easy Walk no pull harness. He loves other dogs and would do great with a companion to burn some energy with. Konjo does need a bit more training on his manners and sometimes jumps up over excited, so he is best suited in a home with no small children. A fenced in yard is best for any high energy dog, so he is hopeful his new family has one. Konjo loves people and dogs he is a really friendly boy who is waiting here at the Haven for his new family. Siberian huskies are classic northern dogs. They are intelligent but somewhat independent and stubborn. They thrive on human company, but need firm, positive training. They are bred to run and their love of running may overcome their love for their guardians at times, so a fully fenced yard is a must! Konjo is vaccinated, microchipped and is neutered. Story
Milo is so much fun to spend time with! This handsome fella is about 1.5 years old and very intelligent. He knows his basic commands, is crate and muzzle trained, and he keeps a clean kennel. He loves car rides and is an excellent passenger, enjoys walks and a good game of tug; he is a master at fetch so he`ll need a fully fenced yard where he can safely play. Milo also needs to have his mind put to good use, so if you like teaching obedience and tricks, Milo is your guy! He does have an `off switch`, so as eager as he is to get out and play, he is good about returning to his kennel and waiting for his next turn. Milo is very enthusiastic and has a zest for life, but once he`s burned off some energy (fetch always does the trick) he is happy to hang out in the yard with you or go off on his own and sniff out the daily news. He`s also never said no to a back rub or a tasty treat.Milo was surrendered to UCHS in November of 2023 at just 10 months old. It was evident he was not provided with the structure and training that a puppy requires, resulting in a young dog who had no self-confidence or manners. The staff and volunteers saw Milo’s potential and a plan was developed. We implemented a `nothing in life is free` strategy, and incorporated obedience training with interactive games to help him replace unwanted behaviours with socially acceptable ones. It was now up to Milo to hold up his end of the bargain and he did not disappoint! We are all so proud of what he`s accomplished so far and are confident that he can continue to grow with the right support.Milo`s new family must be committed to continuing his education and confidence building, including slow/controlled introductions to new experiences, and creating trust with consistent & clear instructions. Milo has made such great strides at the shelter, which can be a stressful environment, so we are confident that he can thrive in a home of his own! ** Milo will do best in a home without cats, dogs, or children. Milo is insecure of other dogs, and while he may be able to make dog friends in the future, he just isn`t ready at this time.If you are interested in learning more about Milo, please contact us and we can set up a time for you to meet him and answer your questions.  Milo can be reached at 519.833.2287 or by email at info@uppercredit.com

Story
Lots of FUN, has an active spirit, Intelligent, companion dog, jack of all trades! Will try anything once to see if he likes it, Animated Project dog, needs training- LOVES working with you! King is a marvelous, spirited boy looking for a loving forever home! He was surrendered to the shelter in April 2024 by PAWS after being abandoned in his home, left on his own. King came in under weight and but has been improving so much at the shelter. In his spare time here at the shelter he has been gaining weight and was working with the staff and volunteers on training! Once he knows what is expected of him, he will work with you and make it his routine. He loves wandering around outside with you outside- so having a fenced in area would benefit him. He gets along beautifully with other dogs; he loves playing with other shelter dogs that are well socialized! Staff would not recommend cats as he has never been around them and is busy. He would do best in a mature home and with no small children. He is not aggressive; he will just need some boundaries when adjusting to his new home. In his down time, he will chew and play with his kong, he can keep himself entertained, he enjoys slow feeders, dog puzzles, and cuddles with you. He is a lot of fun and has so much potential when given the chance! If you would like to come meet King, please contact the shelter at info@uppercredit.com to book an appointment! or call 519.833.2287 if you have any questions!

Story
Blue is a very dapper, 5-yr old Doberman with a beautiful personality who is eager to shine. Prior to his arrival at the shelter, he led a fairly isolated existence with few new experiences so he`ll need a minute to get to know you. Once he`s comfortable, Blue becomes the playful dog he was always meant to be! He is a comical boy who loves to show off his toy, play hard to get, and ultimately invite you to clown around with him. Blue can be very affectionate, and when he looks up at you with his cheerful grin and wiggle-bum, you can’t help but feel joyful.Other pets? No thank youYoung children? Sorry, I’m still working on my manners.Men? I am more comfortable around women, some men scare me but if they go slow we can be friends!Blue was confused when he arrived at the shelter but he is smart, Doberman smart, and it didn’t take long for him to learn the new routine and that he could trust us. He is a wonderful companion, and we ask that his new family be willing to continue to work on his confidence through play, reward based training, and consistent enforcement of rules. Blue deserves a home that can provide him with structure and security. If you would like to learn more about Blue, please call the shelter at 519.833.2287 or email us at info@uppercredit.com for a questionnaire.
