Story
Hi Everyone, my name is Maverick! I came to the shelter as a stray. It's easy to see that I am an absolute heart-breaker, and I know it! My beautiful blue eyes are irresistible. I am a lovable goofball and love to play outside in the yard with my toys. I will need to go to a home without any small children.Maverick is currently looking for a home with a very special person. Someone who is well educated with large breeds and very familiar with the needs and personality of a husky/collie. He requires a home with someone willing to put time in to training as he is very intelligent and looks for direction constantly to be rewarded for positive reinforcement. He is in need of someone who is able to be calm when working with him to manage his behavior. Maverick suffers from overstimulation, which means he does not react positively to over handling, sometimes redirection techniques and extra enrichment are needed to help him adjust to new situations. Maverick is in need of a low stress environment to live in, with plenty of exercise throughout the day. He love to run outside, play fetch and play in the water. If you are interested in Maverick please call the Orillia Centre today and speak to a staff member today about Maverick and his particular needs. 705-325-1304. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 30.9 Age: 1yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
Hi, I'm Charah! I'm 10 years old, but don't let that fool you, I still have plenty of energy for fun and adventures! I love going on hikes, exploring the great outdoors but I've never been on a leash, so I'd need some help getting used to that. I'm super smart, sweet, and I always try my best to follow the rules. Oh, and did I mention I'm house trained? You won't have to worry about any messes with me around. I would like a quiet household as I can be quite shy of new people, I will need some assistance with learning how to greet new people properly. With some training I am sure I will overcome my fear.I also have a soft spot for treats, so if you have snacks, we'll be best friends forever! If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who's full of heart, I could be your perfect match. I can't wait to meet you! Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 20.9 Age: 10yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Hi, I'm Kiera! I arrived at the Ontario SPCA with a belly full of puppies and a bit unsure of new people. My puppies are now off on their own adventure and I have been making leaps and bounds with my relationships with humans.I'm looking for an individual/family without small children, no other animals, and who are willing to guide me as I continue to work on my confidence.I am a real snuggle bug with my chosen people. I'm new to the idea of fetch, toys, and playing, but I am really looking forward to sharpening those skills! If you would like to have a more in depth discussion on what an introduction with me would look like, please give my caregivers a call. I've been dreaming of a home of my own! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 31.005 Age: 3yrs 4mths 2wks

Story
Meet Oswald, a dog with a heart as big as his personality. Oswald has had quite the journey before landing softly at Ontario SPCA Midland & District Animal Centre.Oswald was found about 2.5 hours away hiding in a shed. He had old medical bandages on one of his front legs, was malnourished, and in desperate need of medical intervention (as he was almost completely hairless with sores and scabs all over his body). Oswald was found to be suffering from mange. Thanks to the caring individual who found him, the municipal officer who advocated for him, and the vet clinic who treated him, Oswald's mange was treated! You would think that would be enough of an ordeal for any dog, right? Think again. The lovely municipal officer who was overseeing Oswald's case reached out to dozens upon dozens of animal organizations in search of somewhere who had space for Oswald to no avail! Oswald was becoming stressed within his environment, and needed to be seen by a greater audience in order to find his forever home. Then, a call for help for Oswald came into our email inbox, and we knew we had to help this guy out! And so, here he is! The sweetest little bald boy. We have done additional testing to ensure his treatment worked (they did) and are giving him a wonderful diet and routine baths to help his hair grow back. He's a sweet soul who is known for his friendly demeanor and affectionate nature. Oswald loves to give and receive cuddles, making him the perfect companion for anyone seeking a loyal friend. He's not just a pet; he's a confidante, a playmate, and a source of unconditional love. Oswald's joy is infectious, his loyalty unwavering. His ability to bring happiness into any room is unparalleled. Despite his current circumstances, Oswald remains upbeat, exuding positivity that is truly inspiring. Adopting Oswald isn't just about giving a dog a home. It's about welcoming a bundle of love into your life, a companion who will be there for you through thick and thin. So why wait? Make Oswald a part of your family today, and experience the unadulterated joy of having a loyal friend by your side. Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 30 Age: 6yrs 0mths 3wks
