Story
Meet Bella – A Special Little Lady Looking for Her Forever Home! Bella is settling into her foster home. At six years old and just under 10 lbs, this Maltese/Poodle mix is a pint-sized sweetheart with minimal shedding. Though she’s still a bit nervous and protective of her foster mom, she’s making progress every day. We think Bella has had a rough start in her early life. She was rescued from a home where she wasn’t getting the care she needed, then later surrendered by a busy family to Just Paws who realized she needed more attention than they could provide. Because of her past, Bella can be fearful and reactive if approached too quickly or from behind. She did well at the vet and groomer but was sensitive to handling on her rear end, so patience and understanding will be key to helping her feel safe. The foster is working with a trainer to help with Bella’s sudden reactivity causing her to growl and sometimes lung/attempt to bite. Bella’s Personality & Needs: 🐾 Sweet and Cuddly: Loves snuggling up beside her foster mom for pets 🐾 Cautious but Friendly: Eventually warms up to new people but needs time to accept them on her terms. 🐾 House Trained: Lets you know when she needs to go out. 🐾 Loves Walks: Does great on a leash and enjoys being outdoors (but isn’t a fan of coats or boots!). 🐾 Good in Her Crate: Sleeps well through the night. 🐾 Toy Lover: Has two favorite toys she carries everywhere. She can be protection of them as she likes to have them near for security. 🐾 Picky Eater: Enjoys the odd treat plus can be selective with meals. Bella’s Ideal Home: 🏡 A quiet home with one or two adults — no kids due to her nervousness and potential for reactivity. 👩‍🦰 Would thrive with a single lady looking for a loving companion and walking buddy. 🚫 No condos—Bella would love a house with a yard (a fenced yard would be a bonus!) Bella is looking for someone who will be patient and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build trust, plus continue her training and socialization. If you think Bella is the perfect match for you, apply to adopt her today! Are you the one to give her a chance!? 📍 Bella is being fostered in East Oshawa, ON. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet July – A Sweetheart Ready for Her Forever Home! July has traveled a long way from the streets of Mexico to find a new beginning in Canada, and she’s now ready to meet her forever family! This 3-year-old Wheaton terrier mix (about 32 lbs) is a stunning girl with a soft course and cuddly coat – and she so enjoys being brushed. While she is low-shedding, she is not hypoallergenic, so she may not be suitable for allergy sufferers. July is a gentle soul—shy at first but incredibly affectionate once she feels comfortable. Her foster mom describes her as "the perfect dog" because of her sweet nature and loving personality. She adores kisses, will happily jump up for a hug, and enjoys snuggling up at night, sleeping peacefully through the night with her foster mom. July already knows commands like "sit" and "come," understands "no," and has good car manners. She doesn’t need a crate and is well-behaved when left alone with her foster dog sibling—patiently waiting for her foster mom’s return. She thrives in the company of other dogs and would do best in a home with a canine companion. July is still discovering the joy of toys but is already enjoying her meals and some treats. She walks well on a leash and enjoys multiple daily strolls. However, she would not be a candidate for off-leash adventures and will need a secure, fenced yard where she can run and play safely. Her energy level is low to medium, making her a great match for a relaxed but active household. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion, July might be the perfect fit for you! July is truly a gem of a dog, and if you’re looking for endless love, and kisses she might just be your perfect match! Apply today to have this beautiful girl join your family —you won’t be disappointed! July is being fostered in Cobourg. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
Meet Denver – The Ultimate Cuddle Bug! Denver is the kind of dog who makes you fall in love instantly—just ask his foster mom in Mexico, who knew right away that he was a total sweetheart. Now in Canada, he’s proving to be just as lovable! This little guy is all about the snuggles and will gladly accept all the pats, belly rubs, and cozy naps you have to offer. He’s a champ on the leash, walking calmly like a seasoned pro (as long as there are no puddles—those are clearly suspicious). Snow, on the other hand? No problem! Denver gets along just fine with other dogs socially but would prefer to be the only pet in the house. He also has strong opinions about squirrels, though we suspect the squirrels started it. Cats are also a little too much like squirrels so woios not be good in his home. While he’s mostly a laid-back kind of guy, Denver does have occasional bursts of excitement—think joyful zoomies and some enthusiastic pant-leg nibbling. He’s still figuring out this whole "toys" thing, but he’s discovered the joy of chewing on a small bone, so we’re making progress. As for house training, well… let’s just say Denver needs a bit of a schedule. He knows outside is an option, but sometimes those small rugs just look so inviting. With consistency, he’ll get the hang of it. At bedtime, Denver is all about the cuddles and prefers to be very close to his person. He might even insist on spooning. Personal space? Never heard of it. Denver would do well in a home with or without other pets, as he’s easygoing and doesn’t cause any drama. His foster family will keep an eye on him for any new quirks, but so far, he’s proving to be an absolute gem. Denver is currently accepting applications, that his foster family will review. If you’re looking for a snuggly, slightly quirky, and totally lovable companion, he just might be your guy! Denver is being fostered in Richmond Hill. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
Meet Wanda – A Loving, Affectionate Companion! Wanda is a delightful, chubby girl with a heart full of love! She thrives on affection and is always ready to shower her favorite humans with kisses and cuddles. She is about 4-5 years old and 74lbs. This sweet lady walks well on a leash and enjoys strolls or group hikes—just grab the leash, and she’s ready to go! She would benefit from a healthy diet and more exercise to help her feel her best. Wanda is looking for someone to support her weight-loss journey… who knows, maybe even train for a marathon together one day! Wanda is fully house-trained and doesn’t require a crate, making her an easy, low-maintenance companion. She’s also a low-shedding girl, so you can enjoy her cuddles without worrying about too much fur on the couch. She’s very social and enjoys the company of other dogs but is especially drawn to people. Wanda would do best in a home with older children—she’s gentle and patient but also values her quiet time, whether napping on her bed or at your feet. While she’s generally calm, she may let out an occasional alert bark. This lovely lady would thrive in a house with a fenced yard rather than a condo, as she loves exploring and peacefully observing the world outside. She would do best with a mature, calm dog or as the only pet, soaking up all the love from her person. If you're looking for a loving, affectionate, and easy-going companion with some health goals, Wanda might be the perfect addition to your home! Currently being fostered in Mount Albert (north of Newmarket). ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
Meet Mona! Mona is a gentle, loving, and curious girl who has settled beautifully into her foster home. Around a year old and weighing 45 lbs, she has a heart full of warmth and a personality that shines. She’s eager to please, quick to learn, and already house-trained—no crate needed for this well-mannered girl! Mona is the perfect blend of affectionate and independent. She adores snuggling up for cuddles and will happily soak up all the love you have to give. But she also enjoys her quiet moments, resting peacefully on her bed when she’s ready to relax. Outdoors, she’s a natural explorer, whether it’s sniffing around the backyard, joining in on group hikes, or enjoying her daily walks. She thrives on activity and would love an active family to keep her engaged. Despite her sweet and easygoing nature, Mona has a bit of a mischievous side—she can’t resist chewing on paper if she gets the chance! But with the right chew toys and a little guidance, she’s quick to learn what’s allowed. Mona is fantastic with other dogs, making her a great addition to a multi-dog household, but she’s also perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as the only pup. She has a natural respect for people and greets new friends politely—no jumping, just wagging tails and happy energy. Mona is sensitive and thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can continue building confidence. Stairs are still a bit of a challenge, but she’s working on it and will master them in time. Her beautiful coat doesn’t seem to shed, but she will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. With her loving personality and gentle nature, it’s hard to imagine Mona not adoring kids. She’s ready to find her forever home—one where she can continue exploring, learning, and sharing her endless affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, respectful, and loyal companion, Mona just might be your perfect match! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Meet Tito – Your Future Best Friend! Tito is a four-year-old, 25-pound Schnauzer-Terrier mystery mix (emphasis on "mystery," but who cares? He’s adorable). This sweet and gentle boy has mastered the fine art of companionship, whether it’s accompanying you on leisurely strolls—where he walks like an absolute gentleman—or curling up beside you like a tiny, fluffy squirrel for a cozy nap. Tito has medium to low energy, making him an ideal buddy for relaxed hangouts. He’s great with kids, doesn’t go into a barking frenzy when the mailman arrives (a rare talent for a terrier!), and has no interest in a crate—because why would he when your bed is so much comfier? He is a bit of a picky eater, but if you have chicken, congratulations! You now have Tito’s undying love and devotion. His fosters have kept an eye on him when left alone using a camera, and he’s been doing great by himself. Each day, he settles more and more, proving he’s well on his way to being a confident, independent pup. He’s currently being fostered in Ajax and is accepting applications for his forever home. Could Tito be your perfect match? Apply today—this little cutie won’t disappoint! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly.
