Story
Hi, I'm Penelope. I'm still here. I'm pretty shy when you first meet me. Sometimes I get afraid, and growl because I don't know you. But don't worry, once I do get to know you, I'll love you more than you'll ever know. The humans say that I'm very loyal once we've met a few times. I've grown up here, so I don't know any other life, other than when I was begging on the street when I was a just a kid. I love playing with other boy dogs!! I really would love a home with another boy dog. Girl dogs don't like me. And that's okay. I don't like them either. The humans here say that I'm really smart, and could learn lots from my new parents if they taught me. I know that I act scared and growl when I meet new people, but I really do want someone of my own to love. Will you be that person??

Story
Hey, I'm Rusty. I'm one of the OG's of this place. I've been here 425 days. That's 425 days of not chasing squirrels, of not running freely, 425 days of no cuddles with my own humans. 425 days of waiting. In that time, not one person has asked to see me. Not one. Why? I've seen others here start to act funny. It has me worried. I don't wanna catch what the humans call "kennel stress" That sounds pretty bad. I think I'm a good boy. I'm tall and the humans say I'm regal. I'm also really smart!! I figured out how to lift of the handle on my kennel outside! I was pretty proud of myself. The humans didn't think it was something to be proud of. So they put some kind of clip on it. Give me time. I'll figure it out! I love to play! My big JollyBall is my favorite toy in the world! I chew on it because it gives me comfort. I was made for the outdoors! I think that's because I get so bored when I'm in the house, that I can't help but be naughty. But that's not my fault. I need a job. And I think I would be good at just about any job. You don't even have to pay me!! Just throw ball and I'll be a happy boy! Please someone pick me!! It's my turn!

Story
Hey! I'm Lilo, nice to meet you! I've been here for almost a year. These humans saved me. My story wasn't a very good one. But you know what? It's not what defines us. I've come a long way in my healing journey. These humans have been like my therapists, lol! I've calmed down a lot. I love watching all the people come through the office. Most other dogs don't bother me. It might take me a minute to warm up to them, but they don't bother me. They only things that still gets on my nerves are.....cats. Those little furballs can stay far, far away from me!! I get scared of thunderstorms. But really, who doesn't?! I get special treats on those nights to help me stay calm. They play special music. It's really nice. I sing the song of my people to calm my nerves. So far, I have survived each storm. My biggest wish is to have a home of my own. With lots of toys! I love to play fetch! If you want to be my mom or dad, please come and get me. I want to go home!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I'm back once again. My luck has been terrible. I was returned, then I had to take some tests, and come to find out, I tested positive for heartworms. My caretakers here are trying to keep me calm and not let me run, now that I'm on medication. I really need a family or a foster so I can recover without all this hubbub at the shelter. Can I please come stay with you?? Let these guys know. They'll get me the message.

Story
Hey, Pippy here again. It's day 187 and the humans asked me to do another interview. They must think I'm famous or something, lol. Anywho, life isn't to bad here. I really love the humans that take care of me. So much so, that any new people freak me out!! Especially very small humans. They are so confusing, and fast, and LOUD! I met one once, and I was so scared, I started shaking. So I really hope that my future family doesn't have small humans. It takes me time to trust new people. So, please don't be offended if we're not friends right away. We will be, eventually, lol. One of my favorite things to do is play with my buddy Rusty. We play until it gets to hot outside. I don't like any of the girls here. They're snotty. At least I think they are, lol. But enough about them. My second favorite thing to do, is play in the water! I'm pretty sure I was made to be a lake baby!! The humans here gave me a pool. The first thing I would do is take a dip. Oh, what a wonderful feeling. When I can't swim, I like to dip my whole head into my water bucket outside. Feels so nice! But that's all for now. I sure do hope that someone has the patience to get to know me!

Story
Hello, I'm Bentley. I'm number 3 in the line-up for my interview. By now, you guys all know the story of what happened. Someone didn't want us. They made the wrong choice. And that lead to us being put into harm's way. Now we're here. I'm just now learning to be a dog. I don't know where we were before, but I didn't know what being a dog meant. The humans are trying to teach me to play, and go potty outside, and all about treats. It's scary learning new things, I tell ya! I have big feet and at first I thought it was okay to use them to get what I want by pushing the humans, but the humans don't seem to like that. It's hard to try to keep them on the ground. I'll keep practicing though. I like making the humans happy. I would really like some humans of my own to make happy. Will that be you? Please?
