Story
Roman's last chance Roman wandered into my back yard a few weeks ago. After initially barking he quickly came to trust me with the help of a few treats. I did some searching and found that Roman had arrived in the area a few days before he appeared in my yard. The person had picked him up to adopt him and when they got to his home Roman slipped his collar and bolted. The guy came to my house to retrieve Roman but ended up leaving him here bacuse he was afraid to handle him. I tracked down an original owner of Roman and found that she had him from a puppy to early October but had to give him up due to a change in living conditions. He was born 12/22/22. He is very friendly with us ( two adults ), our Labrodoodles and our cat. He has been good with our grandson. He loves truck rides and snuggling at home. Roman barks at other adults and it takes time for him to warm up to them. He seems nervous or protective initially. We cant keep Roman and he needs a home ASAP.

Story
Hello! Oliver is a 3-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who came to us at 7 months old. He is a wonderful, loving dog with lots of energy. Unfortunately, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome him due to guarding behavior. He has had minimal bites (Level 2) involving our children. Oliver has undergone training and worked with two behaviorists. He would do best in an adult-only home as the only pet. Oliver thrives on running, herding, and adventuring. He is very energetic but also crate-trained and fully house/potty-trained. He truly is an amazing dog, and this decision comes with a very heavy heart. Neutered & UTD on all vaccinations

Story
Rico is a 3.5 year old Micro Bully (Pocket Bully) This big baby is loving and an extremely loyal companion. He loves to cuddle, sleep in plush beds and one on one play time with his companion. Rico thrives in an environment where his owner is often around, a remote worker or someone whom is retired would work best. Although he does well with other animals and children, Rico prefers his owner (single or a couple) to himself. We have grown a family over the last couple of years and Rico has not adjusted well. This fur baby was the first addition to our family, it is important to us to find the perfect owner who can shower Rico with the attention, patience, love & nourishment he requires to thrive once again.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     hi, my name is Walter.  3yrs old 39lbs from Thailand. I think I am the best behaved dog here, seriously.  I never bark or cry.I’m so affectionate towards people both big and small. I would say I’m a REAL happy doggie even though I have some medical issues.I even got a wheel chair because of many kind people donated towards it so I can finally run and go for walks which I really now enjoy! I’ve met some of the rescue doggies here and we get really well along. I enjoy to play with them, and them with me. What Makes Me Special I am not sure if I will ever walk again.  But I am to mastering my wheelchair so I can go out on long walks in the future.  I am always happy and really enjoy all the love, kindness and treats I get from everyone here who comes to see me every day.   I don’t need much to make me happy. I can see a lovely forever in the future that wouldn’t mind taking me out in my wheelchair or have a garden with grass that I can play in.I would also enjoy a nice doggie friend if that’s possible. Who won’t freak out because of my wheels.I’m doing a lot of social walks a.t.m. with different rescue doggies here and all is going very well. I was found at a local temple on the mainland.   Many stray dogs in Thailand end up at temples because people dump us there. Lanta Animal Welfare visited the temple and found me.  They decided to bring me back and check me over to see if they could find why I can’t  walk.  Seems I may have some spinal damage.   I hope I can one day stand on all my four paws. Time will tell…  Are you ready for love!Meet Walter, a three-year old power-pup that’s ready to roll into your heart! Walter might get around on a set of wheels, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He’s a calm, gentle soul who loves people and dogs alike—and he’s always ready to make new friends! Walter was found at a nearby temple and brought back to Lanta Animal Welfare. After running some tests it was determined that Walter had suffered an injury to his spine, and it is unlikely that he will regain the use of his hind legs. While he’s always smiling and incredibly friendly, Walter does need an experienced family who understands his special needs and can provide him with the support he deserves. If you have experience with special needs dogs and are ready to give a deserving dog the love-filled life he dreams of, please reach out! Watch Walter using his new wheels.https://www.facebook.com/share/r/mePeHKZydMFA7Utz/ Zanisfurryfriends.org &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events.
