Story
Caucasian ovcharka, Very large breed, needs an experienced handler. Very loving once she gets to know you, wants nothing more than to be pet, loved and have a person spend time with her. She has had a very rough life and survived being hit by two cars, and being abandoned without food or water for months forcing her to fend for herself. Gerdy wants nothing more than a permanent home where she can be the only animal in the house and have the love and care she deserves.

Story
This was my sisters husbands dog which he solely took care of, my sisters health is not very good and she is afraid of the dog because he has knocked her down. She is very frail and just can’t handle the bigger dogs. Her husband passed away and she can’t walk her or play with her and the dog deserves to have a more fulfilling life than she is able to give. Thanks in advance Due tocircumstances out of the families control, this beautiful Girl is looking for her forever home. Family is just looking for a loving forever home. Any adoption fee is waved for this beautiful love. Please let us introduce Miss Nova. Nova is full pit bull. She is 4 years old and still has some "puppy" energy. She needs some guidance with some training, but is very smart. She does get along with other dogs, but needs slow introductions. Unsure how she is around cats. Her family has been sick and unable to provide the care and guidance she needs. Please help this family find her a loving forever home.

Story
We are very sad to be trying to find another home for Jenny, but we don’t have the time to get her the proper exercise that she needs to be happy— due to our growing young family. She loves to go on walks & long runs. Will rabbit hunt, if that is something you enjoy. She loves people, playing in the yard, and being indoors spending time with family members. She is very much a people dog. Someone who has a yard, spends a lot of time outdoors walking/hiking/hunting, is ideally who we would like to her be with.

Story
I Am One of the Max Collection!Tabitha was born about April 1, 2013 and weighs a bit too much at about 90 lbs.  This girl is very proud of her curves and when her favorite human has been gone for a few hours she does the most delightful, bouncy, dance that we've ever seen!   She is absolutely adorable and has been very good with all of us, but terribly shy at first.  She is good with other dogs, fine in the car and on leash.  This gorgeous girl has been tossed away and will be so thankful for a new home where she will be cherished!  She was left at a shelter when her babies were two days old, guess she became an inconvenience.  She was terrified for herself and her infants when we loaded them up to come here just a couple of days later.  She was a very good Mom, surmounted the stress and kept taking care of her babies who grew to be strong and healthy and now she is looking for a new home that will love her unconditionally!  It is obvious that Tabitha has not always been treated well by humans and she is terrified of being touched by new humans and she is terrified of new places.  She will take much time and effort to adjust to a new life, but she is a really wonderful, loving, girl once comfortable.  Due to her fears she truly must have a fenced in yard. Tabitha is too interested in cats to live with any. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Story
In Memory of Papa Ouderkirk   'I have always had a huge heart for all animals, but especially cats. We even adopted two cats from Joyful Rescues: Leia and Lucy. Lucy is actually one of the cats that came from a transport, and when I saw how small and weak, she was, as well how she always scarfed down every meal as if it would be her last, I felt terrible for her.  I would like to name this transport “The Papa Ouderkirk Memorial Transport” in memory of my grandfather, who passed away in 2019 due to lung cancer he was a lover of cats as well'. - Christianna Reynolds  Freebie was born around August 04, 2019 and weighs about 20 pounds.  It seems Freebie came from a puppy mill or backyard breeding situation.  She ADORES other dogs and is happy and playful with them.   Freebie wants to love us humans and will walk up to us but runs in fear when we try to touch her.   Freebie has never been aggressive to human touch just extremely fearful.  Freebie must have a secure fenced in yard and another playful well socialized dog in her next home.  It is going to take some work and patience to show Freebie that humans are wonderful but the outcome will be well worth it for you and for Freebie .  Please do some reading on working with mill dogs before applying to adopt Freebie.  Update:  Still no human has touched this girl, but she will come within a few feet of the human she sees the most.  When she gets near I smile, wave, and say her name and she wags her tail, but will run immediately if I move toward her.  I'll keep working on it.  She does use the dog door freely and does come into the TV room with the other dogs and two humans in the evening, but she looks around, plays with another dog and then she is off doing more dog things.  Freebie does shed. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Story
Thank You Barker Family!Pepper was born about May 15, 2015 and weighs about 50 lbs.  She is a Joyful Rescues sanctuary pet because she arrived from the southern high kill shelter extremely fearful of humans, but she is wonderful with all the other dogs here.  Pepper never found a home because she has a very fast bite response to any human that moves too fast around her or in any situation where she feels uncertain what the human may do - even to reach out and pet her.  Every one here understands this and new humans in the house are told ahead of entering not to reach out to Pepper.  With this understanding of her behavior she has been living here and will continue to live here happily.  She enjoys the activity and the acreage playing with the other dogs and is welcome to stay as long as she lives.   Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
