Story
Meet June Bug, a face-kissing fanatic! This super sweet 39-pound pup originally came to us as a transfer from a local shelter and was adopted, but came back to us when sharing space and toys with a toddler wasn`t something she was ready for. She`d do best in a home with older children who understand her excitable play style. Juney B is eager to please and knows `sit`, `down`, `paw` and even `sit pretty` (although, we aren`t super sure what her cue is for that last one, as she offers it up independently). She also loves to play with the agility equipment we have and is very good at the tunnel! Historically, June has had trouble living full time in a home with another dog. She may be ok for playdates, but she tends to become possessive over time, making it hard to share the love with her canine roomies. If you have a dog(s) already in your home, our adoptions team would set up a meet-and-greet with your resident pup in a controlled environment to see how they get along and offer advice for the future. June Bug spent a couple of weeks in a foster home with cats and she did pretty well! Want to meet June Bug and see if they’re a match for your family? Come play with me! I`m Dolphin, and maybe I got that name because of bouncy enthusiasm and perpetual smile. I`m a playful pup who loves treats, squeaky toys, and snuggles. Story
JuJu is a mixed breed (possibly shepherd/lab?) who was surrendered when her owner passed away. She is generally a low-key kind of gal who is happy to take leash walks or just laze around the house with you. Playing fetch or tug with toys is the time you are most likely to see her enthusiastic side! Sometimes she loves her toys a bit too much and is not a fan of sharing them, so she would be better as your only canine family member. She was recently fostered by one of our volunteers who reported she was an excellent house guest and car-riding sidekick. If you are looking for an easy-going dog, she might just be the perfect fit for you. Call the Adoptions Desk at (607) 257-1822 x221 for more info and to make an appointment to meet this sweet pup. Story
Introducing, Margo (66 pounds and holding)! With an adorable underbite and playful personality, Margo is the full package! Even though the shelter is a spooky place for a lot of animals, Margo has settled in well. Margo is a staff and volunteer favourite, as she is goofy and full of love! She does best when she meets new people outside her home. She was adopted about a year ago and came back to us when they realized their home was a bit too busy for her. Margo may need to be your only dog and can be picky about strangers entering the home. No worries though, the adoption staff can counsel you on the best way to manage Margo when she is meeting new people! Once Margo knows you, she can`t get enough of snuggling, belly rubs, hugs and kisses! If you`ve been looking for a companion in the 60 pound range, Margo could be your girl! If you`d like to meet her, call, email or stop by the shelter during open hours to find out more!
