Story
Meet Bolt, A Loyal and Energetic Husky Mix Looking for a Loving Home! Bolt is a 2 year old husky mix, and we believe he may have some German shepherd in him due to his intelligence and strong personality. He is a free spirited, outspoken, and highly energetic dog who loves to run and be outdoors. Bolt’s journey started when his mother and littermates ended up in our yard after being displaced by the Calf Canyon and Peek fires. We cared for them until we could get them safely to an animal shelter, but the day before, Bolt and his mother disappeared. Sadly, Bolt returned alone, and his mother was never found. Since then, he has been part of our family, but our older dog just can’t keep up with his playful and energetic nature. Bolt is incredibly smart, has great survival instincts, and thrives both indoors and outdoors. He also has a soft side. He loves a good belly rub and quality time with his humans. We’re looking for a loving home where Bolt can get the attention and activity he needs

Story
Toots is now on the prowl for her next adventure. She came to us with a completely rotten mouth. It was so bad you could smell her before you saw her. On her intake visit the vet did an emergency dental because the infection was so bad, and Toots lost all her teeth. It took almost 3 weeks for the infection to go away. She also had a large lipoma on her chest that we had to wait to remove because of the bacteria in her mouth. She has recovered from her emergency dental and having the lipoma removed. She has gained some weight and looks wonderful. Now that she's feeling better this girl is so happy. She loves to lay in the sun or up on the couch watching TV. She will do her best to snuggle right behind you, between you and the couch cushion. She does get excited when her people come home but she does settle easily. This girl LOVES to eat. She will need a sign that says- "The dog has been fed. Don't fall for her lies." She knows exactly how to use those puppy dog eyes to get an extra treat or a smidge more kibble. Although she did have all of her teeth removed because of the horrible infection she had, she does eat kibble but small bites. If you are looking to add happy snuggler to the family, check this girl out! Learn more about me and fill out an online adoption application on the From the Heart Rescue website at: www.fthar.org. My requested adoption donation includes my spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and medical care to date, microchip implantation and registration, collar, leash, and ID tag. Story
Look at this cutie! His name is Marley, and he is looking for a place to spend his golden years. Marley was found wandering the streets all alone without a way to get back home. (Please microchip your pets). We figure Marley is around 13 years old, but he still has plenty of love left to share. Marley loves a comfy bed and to go on walks. Mostly, he's looking for that perfect lap to get snuggles. He does have some vision problems with a cataract in one eye but is visual in the other eye. And a touch of arthritis. Marley uses eye drops and takes medicine for the arthritis to help keep him comfortable. If you think you would be able to provide Marley with a good snuggle spot for his golden years, visit our website and fill out an adoption application. Story
Say hello to Snoopy! Snoopy was picked up as a stray in the middle of a medical emergency. He was having cluster seizures. We quickly got him to the vet, and they were able to stabilize him. We have Snoopy on anti-seizure medication, and we have not seen him have another. Snoopy is a young pup, around 18 months old. He has worked very hard on potty and crate training. Being young, he is very mouthy but learning. He is also obsessed with your feet. He wants to lick them, bite them, wrestle on them. Obsessed!! Snoopy will need a home with another dog to play with. Wrestling is his favorite thing. Anyone thinking of adding Snoopy to their family, please keep in mind that he will need to be on seizure medication for life and may require more vet visits than a "healthy" pup. Story
Pamela is ready to begin the search for her forever home! Pamela was surrendered to us when her owner became worried she was too old to be on the ranch anymore. We would love to tell you how old she is, but we are unsure. The person who surrendered her said she was 14. The vet records that came with her say 17. And our vet who examined her says somewhere around 10-12. After getting to know her, we agree with the vet. This girl has life to live and love to give. During her intake exam we discovered that Pamela was heartworm positive. (Please make sure your pets are on preventives. Mosquitos do get inside.) She has received treatment and has tested negative! Pamela requests that her next home have outdoor space where she can lounge all day. We do not know if it's from the ranch life, but this girl LOVES to be outside. For the first 2 months in her foster home, her mom had to pick her up and bring her inside at the end of day. While she now knows that inside is comfortable, most days she hangs out in the yard in her chair. Pamela loves to snuggle and will sometimes surprise you by jumping right up in your lap without warning. We think she would do fine as an only pup or with one or 2 pups for company. If she does go to a home with other pups, they will need to be confident and not startled by Pamela sitting and watching them eat. For some reason she will often just sit very close to one of the other dogs and just watch them eat (picture included). She has never tried to take the food and she's not overbearing about it, but we could see where a pup might not be comfortable being watched? If you are interested in adding Pamela to your family and you have ample outdoor space for lounging?, please fill out an application on our website.
