Story
Meet Audra. Audra found herself at the shelter with her brother Sol. These two found themselves at the shelter, picked up as strays. At the shelter, which is very loud and scary place, they were very timid and fearful. The shelter reached out to see if a rescue could give them a better place to come out of their shells. At the shelter being fearful and timid can end in euthanasia. We were able to partner with one of our rescue friends to get them out of the shelter. We hoped that going into boarding where they could interact with several people a day would help them realize humans can be good. Well, the joke was on us. These two are wonderful, curious puppies. When our director went to meet them, they ran right to her to say hello. They crawled up in her lap and have been having a fantastic time at daycare saying hello to everyone they can. We are guessing they are about a year old. This is only a guess; they may be younger. We just can't convince these pups to carry their birth certificates these days. So, this may be as big as they get, or they could grow a bit. Our best guess is that they are terrier/pug mixes. They will be adopted out separately. These are great, funny dogs that love to play. And they are young, so they have energy. If you are looking for a couch potato to hang out and sit with you to binge watch your newest tv obsession all day, these are not the pups for you. These 2 are going to need walks and toys and training. If you are ready to commit to one of these pups joining your family, please visit our website and fill out an adoption application Learn more about me and fill out an online adoption application on the From the Heart Rescue website at: www.fthar.org. Story
Sweet Coco found herself at the shelter as a stray. This wasn't her first time there. She was picked up as a puppy and adopted out. But this time no one came looking for her. The microchip information was no longer current. During her intake exam the vet noted that she had a severe luxating patella, where the kneecap can move out of the groove and slip side to side, and the vet felt it was severe enough to require surgery. Coco was put up for adoption and received a lot of interest, but everyone backed out when realizing that she would require surgery to live her best life. The shelter asked if we could take her and get her surgery so she could have a chance at a loving home. One of our amazing fosters said they had room, and we got her right into our vet. It turns out that instead of a luxating patella, Coco has a torn CCL. Basically, a person's ACL. Our vet no longer handles these types of surgery, so we have an appointment with another vet to see what he says. If everyone could keep a good thought for Coco that would be great. So far, we have learned that she loves to play and is loving and snuggly. Keep an eye for updates about Coco.   Learn more about me and fill out an online adoption application on the From the Heart Rescue website at: www.fthar.org. Story
Meet Fred, a sweet 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a sleek black coat, a small white patch on his chest, and a hint of blue in his left eye. Fred is a playful and affectionate pup who loves to run around, snuggle in laps, and have fun with his sister (see the second picture). Fred is not much of a barker, but he will let out a cheeky "awoo" if you're late with dinner. He has grown up alongside other dogs, and while he would certainly enjoy the attention of being an only dog, he would also thrive in a home with other dogs. Having grown up as an outside dog, Fred is also house-trained and well-behaved indoors. He knows commands like "sit," "down," and "wait," although his "stay" could use a bit more practice. Fred is eager to please and quick to learn, making him a joy to train. Fred loves going for walks and is accustomed to being on a leash and harness. If you're looking for an energetic and loving friend, Fred is the perfect choice.

Story
Meet Magenta, an adorable 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a sable coat and warm brown eyes. Magenta is a sweet and independent pup who doesn't always need company, but she's also good with more dogs around. Magenta loves getting scratches on the back of her neck and under her ears, and every now and then, she'll roll over for a good belly rub. While she's not always the most generous with kisses, when she does decide to give them, it's with enthusiasm. She also enjoys going for walks and is well-behaved on a leash and harness. She loves to chew on shoes or rope toys, so investing in durable chew toys is a great idea! She knows commands like "sit" and "wait," and she finds treats to be a great motivator. As a loyal guardian, Magenta is vigilant when outside and always ready to protect her home and family. She’s also house-trained and loves to nap indoors or follow you around for cuddles. With her gentle spirit and loving nature, she'll make a great addition to any family.

Story
Peony&#44 the flower&#44 symbolizes bashfulness&#44 love&#44 beauty and happiness. This girl lives up to her name. Peony&#44 is a beautiful&#44 shy&#44 loving girl. She entered the shelter as a puppy and spent nearly a year waiting for someone to see her. She has been in foster care for the past 2 months and I am excited to say that she is finally ready for her opportunity to find a forever home where she can truly blossom.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;The transition from shelter life has not been easy for this beautiful flower. She forgot many of the things that she reportedly knew&#44 such as her potty training and basic commands. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;She was hesitant and nervous for the first few days outside of the shelter&#44 but when introduced to another foster dog&#44 she began to bloom. Peony has been doing great with potty training&#44 as long as the routine remains consistent. She is still learning to trust humans&#44 so she would do best in a home with another playful&#44 social&#44 patient dog who will kindly let her follow their lead. Small children are still a bit terrifying to her&#44 but with slow introductions&#44 she has done well with older children.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt; This girl LOVES her treats and toys! She is highly motivated by both and will kindly share with her furry friends&#44 but donandamp;#39;t be mad when she loves her toys to shreds. It was all the entertainment she had for almost a year of her life and thatandamp;#39;s a hard habit to break. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Peony is believed to be a Lab&#44 Shar Pei mix&#44 around 1.5 years old&#44 about 40 lbs&#44 and previously lived with cats.
