Story
Are you a fan of squishy faces and long, droopy ears? If you are, then Lulu may be the girl for you! Lulu is an incredibly sweet and incredibly squishy 2 year old English Coonhound that came to Shadow and Sky from a high volume animal shelter in Kentucky. One of the shelter workers there rescued her during their Thanksgiving holiday from very poor and neglectful conditions, and drove her 3 hours back to the shelter to give Lulu a chance at a better life. While in the shelter, Lulu made friends with the staff there, and they found out that she was housebroken, crate trained, knew some commands, and LOVED the car. And if that isn’t enough to sell you, Lulu is pretty quiet for a hound! She howls when she’s playing, but other than that she is quiet and demure. Lulu settles so well in her crate at night that you wouldn’t even know she was there. Lulu is currently living in a foster home with 3 other large dogs and a 7 pound puppy. She loves all of them fiercely, and is particularly fond of her Doberman foster sister. Lulu would love to have another playful canine in her adoptive home with her, as she is EXTREMELY attached to her dog friends. Lulu will play for hours and really seeks out affection and playtime from the other dogs 24/7. Unfortunately, Lulu has a slight prey drive so would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals, but she is so loving, playful and affectionate that she could do well with sturdy children over 5! A fenced in yard is on Lulu’s Christmas list since she loves to run around and play, and since she is a hound dog, listening the first time is not one of her talents. Girlfriend just wants to follow her nose! Because she’s a hound, you can probably guess that one of her favorite things is…..FOOD! Lulu will do anything for treats and knows several tricks including sit and paw. She will smell food from a mile away and come running for it (that’s the key to getting her to listen). And surprisingly, even though she is so food motivated, Lulu is not a huge counter surfer. She has been pretty respectful of the counters in her foster home. Overall, Lulu is just a country girl looking for a Hallmark movie ending for Christmas this year. If you are thinking you could give this silly hound a home for the howlidays, please feel free to apply at shadowandskyrescue.org!

Story
Coral, our longest DBU tenure, has been patiently for years for her forever family to come along. Despite her long wait, she knows the perfect forever home will come along! Don’t let those wheels fool you, she’s  just like every other dog, only faster! She doesn't use her cart inside the house and gets around just fine. Coral had an injury when she was just a baby, and it caused permanent nerve damage. She will have to wear some fashionable diapers and use her cart outside, but that is the only thing “different” about her. She loves kids, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and rabbits - everyone! The dogtor says she’s very healthy and ready to go to my furever home now - so whatcha waitin’ for?? Coral comes with her cart, supplies, 1 year of diapers, dozens of fashionable diapers & support from her fabulous foster mom. She is 3 years old and fully grown. Coral’s adoption fee is SPONSORED! Coral is an amazing dog and would make a great therapy dog to visit schools, hospitals and nursing homes. She is a star at our events and loves to meet new people. Please share this post for Coral. Story
Obi was a good old fashioned Philly stray who was on the ACCT euthanasia list-the normal story. Now, Obi loves playing with his foster doggy sister and is very happy to meet new people. He has playful energy and is fully crate trained.  Obi loves to play, run and jump. He wants a family who would love to teach him ALL the tricks because he is smart and ready to learn. Car ride? He's in. In fact, Obi is up for whatever you want to do. He likes kids over 10 so they have the energy to keep up with him (they can crash together at the end of the day).So let’s get to the stats - he's a handsome boy, about 2-1/2 years young and medium sized. He can’t wait to meet you! **One of his biggest fans is sponsoring his adoption feeHe will come home with a new bed, giant bag of food, toys and chews, and connected with our trainer to help acclimate if needed Apply at https://www.dontbullyus.com/forms/adoption-application/Please allow 5-7 days for us to process your application. Story
Shawny is an amazing girl who loves to play, chase balls, and be interactive. She enjoys her kiddie pool and adores her tennis balls! Despite the pics that might make her look petite, she's actually around 50 pounds. She sleeps soundly in her crate at night. She's really a perfect girl. Shawny is about 7 years young and looking for a furever place to call her own. She would do well with a doggy friend with a slow introduction but would be happy to be the star of the show. She would much prefer being part of a girls' club because boys drool! She's a funny girl-she makes people chuckle by rolling around, snorting and being goofy. Despite constantly being overlooked, Shawny just keeps smiling and hoping. Her bright personality and fun-loving spirit will light up the home of whoever is fortunate enough to adopt her.
