Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.    Our sweet 'Luna-bug' has been waiting patiently since last February with zero interest  She’s watched the seasons change, from winter to spring to summer,  fall, now winter again and yet, she’s still here. It's breaking our hearts. Luna loves giving kisses and is as sweet as they come—but imagine not having a single person ask about you. These animals know the routine. They watch others come and go, receive attention, and get their happily-ever-afters. But Luna and our long-stay residents are still waiting for their chance. They just need someone to see how special they are. Luna is 2 years old and 40 lbs—just the perfect size for a loyal adventure buddy! She’s looking for an active home with a fenced yard and would thrive in a cat-free environment. Sh eis Dog selective.   Looking for a highly dog savvy owner with dominant breed experience.   Training classes and Fenced yard required.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.February 9, 2025, 9:51 am

We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  Update 8/8/24 We are deeply saddened that Seven, now called Sofia has been returned.  She was here initially for 8 long months before she found a home, mostly because she was a timid pup.  She was adopted out in October but her owner had a fall, and with broken bones is unbale to care for Sofia.  Her world has been turned upside down and we hope her stay with us in a short one.  She, now 2 yrs old, is looking for a quieter home. not a fan of a lot of traffic an noise.  She is energetic and once she gets to know you she will be your best friend.  She is used to long daily walks.  She is dog friendly.  Loves toys!  She has been exposed to older kids as well.     She has had a couple of seizures in the past, nothing that warrants medication at this point.  Potential adopters just need to be aware and make sure consistent vet care is provided.   Sofia cannot wait to be out of the kennel and in a new home again where she will feel safe and loved.     8 months old.  25lbs.    Meet Seven! Seven is a high-energy dog with above average exercise needs, so she is looking for a family who is ready to keep up with her active lifestyle.  Seven is a playful and affectionate dog who loves to run, play, and go on long walks. She gets along well with other dogs, so she would make a great addition to a household with plenty of room to play and explore. Fenced yard, pre-registered obedience class required.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.February 13, 2025, 2:58 pm

Story
Nothing breaks our hearts more than seeing one of our beloved shelter pets returned. Sweet Sally (formerly Cali) has been brought back to us after being in a home for over a year. The reasons? Difficulty getting along with the resident female dog and her family’s move. It’s hard not to feel a whirlwind of emotions—anger, guilt, and most of all, sadness that we’ve let her down. But we’re putting our feelings aside because the one who’s hurting most right now is Sally.  At just 2 1/2 years old and about 40 lbs, Sally is an incredibly sweet girl who adores people. She’s a little selective with other dogs, but we believe she may OK thrive in a home with a calm, male canine companion—or as the only dog, soaking up all the love herself.  Looking for active homes, she is high energy.   We’re determined to turn this tough situation into a fresh start for Sally. She deserves a family who will love her unconditionally and give her the forever home she thought she already had.  Can you be the one to give Sally her happily-ever-after? Apply online today.   **Fenced yard, obedience class required.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.January 30, 2025, 12:28 pm

We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  4 months old, 33lbs.   Meet Reba, Rookie, and Rayna—the cutest hound/lab/mystery mix puppies around! These 4-5-month-old cuties are growing fast, and with the possibility of a larger breed (maybe Mastiff?) in their DNA, they’ll be big, lovable companions when fully grown. Expect the girls to reach 60-70 lbs and Rookie to be 80+ lbs! These pups are looking for active homes with the time, patience, and commitment to properly train and raise a puppy. They need fenced yards to safely play in and pre-registered training classes to help them grow into well-mannered dogs. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, playful energy, and a lifetime of love, come meet Reba, Rookie, and Rayna! One of their siblings has already found a home—now it’s their turn! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Apply today and give one of these sweethearts a forever home! *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.February 10, 2025, 3:52 pm

Kerri is a 10-month-old, 33 lb mystery mix (maybe some shepherd?) who is looking for a special home to help her build confidence and truly flourish! She’s a little scared here at the shelter, but we know she’ll thrive in the right home.
