She’s about 7 to 9 months old and weighs around 17 pounds now, likely to reach 25 to 30 pounds when fully grown. With her playful, silly personality and love for both people and dog friends, she’s the kind of pup who makes you understand why people talk about visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. She’s doing great with her training and learning all the good stuff in her foster home. Originally from Texas, Sugar Plum is now fully vetted, spayed, and ready to bring sweetness and fun to the lucky home that chooses her. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Brooke is 8 years old and about 40 pounds. Her DNA shows Lab, coonhound and chow. She’s spayed, vaccinated and healthy. She’s housebroken, leash trained and has had formal training. She goes to doggy day care and does well. She can live with other dogs but she gets nervous around them, so she’d likely prefer being an only dog. She loves kids and has always been gentle, though she can be a little unsure with adults at first. If she sneaks food she doesn’t like people taking it from her and will give a small growl, but she has never bitten. Brooke is a steady dog who just wants a calm place to land. Even though she’s good with kids we think an all adult home may help her adjust best. She’ll be a solid companion for someone who wants a friendly dog who already knows the basics. Frank is a 3 year old Yorkie with a bright little spark in him. He loves to zip around the yard and he’s great with other dogs and cats. He can be a bit barky, so a quiet apartment may not be the best match for him, but a home with some space and patience will let him shine. He’s still settling into his foster home and taking everything in, yet he’s already come so far. In just a week he’s gone from unsure to playful and silly, and he now follows his foster mom everywhere. He’s about 10 pounds and almost fully vetted, and he’ll be neutered while in our care. Frank is working on his leash skills and will do well with gentle structure. Since we’re still getting to know him, we’re leaning toward a home with older kids or no kids for now. Amelia is a small 3 year old Yorkie mix at about 13 pounds with a soft black and brindle coat. She came in with Frank and we think they may be related. She arrived in rough shape, matted and never vetted, but she’s been fully checked, vaccinated and groomed, and she’s already starting to bloom. She needed time to trust, and after about a week she let her foster mom handle her. Now she melts into your lap and would stay there as long as you’ll have her. She’s still taking in this new life and grows a little more confident every day. Amelia had puppies in her previous home and she’ll be spayed while in our care. Because she can be timid with new people, she may do best in an adult home where things stay calm and predictable. If you’re looking for a gentle girl who just wants to feel safe and loved, Amelia will steal your heart. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.
