Story
Lilly is a 9 month old female German Shepherd. She has lived with my family since she was 6 weeks old. We also have a Golden Doodle that we are rehoming. They don't get along all the time and together is just too much for our family. Lilly hasn't had any professional training, but she is super smart and loving and loves to learn. She loves playing fetch and has a lot of good energy. She is very protective of her family-she does need a family that has the ability to train her. She will be very loyal.

Story
STRYKER - Young, Fun, and Energetic Yes, you will be thunderstruck with this amazingly athletic and fun dog. He is going to keep you entertained for hours and then just chill out at night, you will fall in love with Stryker. This handsome, playful and friendly Dutch Shepherd dog can’t wait to meet you and become best buddies. He loves to play and run around outside, getting a full head of steam playing fetch and stretching his legs. When inside, Stryker can play or learn to chill by your side while you do some work from home. Like any shepherd, this guy is smart and active. Get those tennis balls and tug toys out because he loves playing fetch or goofing off with just about any toy. Stryker is incredibly agile and fast. He enjoys brisk walks and being with people. If properly introduced Stryker can make friends with dogs his size. Stryker can sometimes be a little possessive of his ball when playing with other dogs. He can also be over excited when seeing new dogs or small animals on walks or hikes and not a fan of small animals. He was gentle and easy going when walking with our special girl Phoenix. Stryker is about 3 years old and close to 70 pounds. He is healthy with no underlying medical issues. As you can see from his pictures he is quite photogenic, but even pictures don’t do him full justice. You have to meet him to truly experience his joyous nature. Stryker has all the physical, intelligence, and active characteristics of a full Dutch Shepherd. Stryker will be best served in a home with a fenced in yard. Any adopter will also need to be ready and able to keep up with Stryker’s energy level. If you are interested in finding out more about Stryker, please email us at contact@sedonashepherd.com. Stryker is also a candidate for our foster to adopt program, which allows a potential adopter the opportunity to foster Stryker for 3 weeks prior to committing to an adoption. We are requiring any potential adopter sign up for obedience training with Stryker. If you live in northern, central or western New Jersey, Canine Dimensions has graciously offered to provide up to 3 in home sessions at no cost. Preference will be given to owners with a fenced in yard. Based on his activity level, we are also looking for a home with older children. If you are interested, please fill out an adoption application. Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary's mission is to rescue adult and senior German Shepherd and Shepherd mixes and find them loving homes.  All of our dogs are fully vetted and up to date on all their shots Our adoption area includes New Jersey, Delaware Valley, Manhattan, Southern New York and Eastern Pennsylvania.  We may adopt to Connecticut depending on circumstances.  Please visit our website at www.sedonashepherd.com. Story
MELO - Just Looking For A Nice Home Age: 11 Years Sex: Male Size: Large Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Unknown Good With Children: Yes Melo lived his whole life in a home with a family and friends. Sadly, his owner was unable to provide a home for Melo when they moved. Melo is a friendly dog that still has a lot of life and pep in his step. Melo loves to go on walks and or just hanging out with his friends and foster mom. He is a pretty easy going guy who is just looking for love and a nice comfy dog bed. Melo would be comfortable in most home settings. He has been around other dogs and cries when he isn’t allowed to go up and meet another dog. Once the introduction has been made, then he can go about his business. Melo is eligible for our forever foster friends program. You provide the home and Sedona takes care of his medical needs for the rest of his life. Originally surrendered to Perth Amboy Animal Shelter, who took good care of this boy, Melo is now with Sedona Shepherd. Please consider bringing Melo into your hearts and home. Story
JOKER AND HARLEY BEST FRIENDS Age: 5 and 5 Years Sex: Male and Female Size: Large Good With Dogs: Non-reactive, but best on their own Good With Cats: No Good With Children: Yes Joker and Harley are best of friends. Although not from the same litter, both dogs share the same birthday. Joker and Harley have spent most of their 5 years together, enjoying the world and meeting new people. They are pure bred German Shepherds. Joker has the unique liver/tan color coat and Harley has a more classic black and tan coat. These two pals love to meet new people. They have been socialized with people and children all their lives. Joker and Harley also lived with an older Siberian Husky. However, these days Joker prefers to hang with Harley without any other dogs around. When Joker and Harley come out and meet new people, they are super-excited. They start off with a burst of energy and then eventually just hang out. Joker and Harley would do great in a family setting and preferably, but not required, a fenced in yard or at least an area where they can run around. These two besties are located in Morris County. The are currently part of our owner referral program, and are eligible for our foster to adopt program. Once you meet them, you will fall in love and enjoy their enthusiasm and playfulness. Interested in fostering or fostering to adopt these BFFs? Shoot us a request for more information at contact@sedonashepherd.com or fill out an online adoption application. Story
SHADOW Age: 2 Years Sex: Male Size: Medium Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Yes Good With Children: Teenagers and Up You won’t find a happier and friendlier dog than Shadow. This lovable and goofy boy is a young black lab / shepherd mix about 2 years old. Shadow just wants to make friends with everyone he meets. Shadow is athletic and enjoys playing and just goofing off. In addition to enjoying people, Shadow is friendly with all dogs and at one point lived with a cat. Shadow is healthy, up to date on all his shots, and neutered. His prior owner couldn’t say enough good things about Shadow. Sadly, his owner had very serious health issues and could not physically handle and keep Shadow in her new home. Shadow’s owner turned to Sedona Shepherd, knowing that we would find him a perfect home. She did not want to return him over to Animal Control or put him in a shelter. Shadow is now ready to meet new people, make new friends and find his forever home.
