Story
Zelda is a beautiful purebred Greyhound with a sleek black coat who is looking for a new loving home. She was born in 2017 in Texas and has never raced. This sweet girl has a lot of soul and loves long walks, playing tug of war, and enjoying a good piece of chicken. I adopted her from a friend about a year ago, but due to changes in my schedule and life circumstances, I am unable to give her the attention she deserves. She is a gentle and affectionate companion who will bring joy to any home. If you are interested in providing a loving home for her, please reach out. She will be a loyal and loving addition to your family.

Story
Brooke is 8 years old and about 40 pounds. Her DNA shows Lab, coonhound and chow. She’s spayed, vaccinated and healthy. She’s housebroken, leash trained and has had formal training. She goes to doggy day care and does well. She can live with other dogs but she gets nervous around them, so she’d likely prefer being an only dog. She loves kids and has always been gentle, though she can be a little unsure with adults at first. If she sneaks food she doesn’t like people taking it from her and will give a small growl, but she has never bitten. Brooke is a steady dog who just wants a calm place to land. Even though she’s good with kids we think an all adult home may help her adjust best. She’ll be a solid companion for someone who wants a friendly dog who already knows the basics. Story
Layla is a lively, affectionate 10 year old girl who adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s happiest in an active home where someone is around much of the time, since she loves being right in the middle of family life. Layla has a big personality and expresses herself with plenty of barking, often just for fun, so she’ll do best with people who appreciate a chatty companion. Layla also has allergies that require ongoing care. When she first arrived, her skin was in rough shape, but with treatment and a special diet, she’s made great progress! She may need continued management to keep her comfortable. With her playful spirit and loving nature, Layla will be a wonderful addition to a family that understands her needs and is ready to make her part of their everyday life. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Story
7/21/24 Exciting UPDATE!! Benji has come out of his shell...Yay!!! He has become little Mr. Affectionate.... He kind of LOVES people now! He sits on his foster mom's lap and even cuddles up to sleep next to her. When people come over he jumps in their lap too! He loves belly rubs and gives kisses too.....it's a miracle! We're about to start leash training him so wish us luck! In the meantime, we do feel he can be adopted....there would be an adjustment period in a new home of course but we know he would really love to find his actual FOREVER home. As we are dedicated to ALL of our foster dogs, we would continue to be a part of his life in his new home when needed... we are happy to help whoever decides to love and adopt him. We have wonderful trainers plus his foster mom is available and ready to help him adjust into a new home. Please consider this little guy.... he's come such a long way and we all want the best for him! Be the last part of Benji's story and give him a happy and loving home! 2022 - Look at this little shaggy boy! Benji is a wire haired terrier mix and weighs about 10 pounds. He's about a year old. Benji is what we call one of our "harder to adopt" cases. He needs someone with patience and understanding who can devote some time to bringing him out of his shell. Benji came in from a hoarding case back in April of this year with 14 other dogs all similar to him. They were all petrified when they came in and all took time to begin to come out of their shells. Most have since been adopted but we still have a few left- Benji being one of them. He has never let his foster mom actually pet him. He will come up and take food and treats and will follow her around right at her feet but when you try to touch him he runs. We have held off on posting him up for adoption as he would be hard to show to people when we cant even get a leash or collar on him. However, his foster mom saw a little miracle happen so we decided to start letting people know he is up for adoption. Benji has suddenly decided to let the foster mom's husband pet him! He goes directly to him and sits by him like he's known him for years! So it just may be that Benji is more comfortable with a man than a woman. He will still need a lot of work, time and patience but we now see that he has made a big step and just might be ready to make even more progress!! If you think you might be up for the challenge and you have the time to put into this little dude please reach out to us at clawsadopt@yahoo.com. A quieter household and no children may be best for him. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications! 2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. Story
This little guy is looking for his forever home! Charlie Brown is a 6-year-old Yorkie/Chihuahua mix, weighing in at about 11 pounds. His previous owner had to move and, unfortunately, couldn’t take him along, but we know there’s a perfect family out there ready to give him all the love he deserves. Charlie Brown is a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly—he was giving his foster mom kisses and even showing off his furry little belly within an hour! He’s housebroken, does well with smaller dogs, and even brought his favorite toy from his previous home. He’s not neutered yet, but don’t worry- we’ll take care of all his vetting and neutering before he heads off to his new home. As we get to know him better, we’ll share more about his personality, but we already know he’s a sweet, affectionate little guy who’s ready to be someone’s best friend. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. Story
Patty is a 2-year-old Havanese mix with a playful spirit and a growing sense of confidence. She came to us with a very matted coat, so she’s sporting a short haircut for now—but once her soft curls grow back, she’ll be looking like a little superstar! Patty is settling into her foster home and learning new things every day. Her previous home loved her, but didn’t have much time for training, so she’s still working on some basics. She’s leash trained, nearly housebroken, and absolutely loves toys—especially stealing socks, so guard your laundry! She’d do best in a home with no kids, and we’re still getting to know how she feels about other dogs. We’ll continue to update as we learn more. Patty is current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be spayed soon. With a little time and patience, she’s going to make a wonderful companion. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments.
