Story
Brownie is a 4 or 5-year-old dog with a loving, affectionate nature. She was originally found chained behind a convenience store, abandoned and alone. For the past three years, she lived with my father and brother, but our situation has drastically changed, my dad is now in hospice care, and my brother cannot care for her. Brownie just wants to be close to people. She is deeply emotional and struggles with separation anxiety; even if I step outside briefly, she starts whining, likely fearing abandonment again. Right now, I can keep her temporarily thanks to my landlord's understanding, but this is not a permanent solution. I've explored options to buy a home where we could stay together, but even with a full-time and part-time job, I can't afford housing in New Jersey. This heartbreaking situation has left me desperate for help. If anyone can offer support or a solution, it would mean everything to us.

Poor, sweet, handsome, Freddie was returned to Rescue Ridge through no fault of his own.  His owner is ill and cannot care for him. We need your help in finding Freddie a new, loving, forever home.   Will you help us to help him?  Freddie is a loving, affectionate, playful, now almost  6 yr. old, Staffordshire Terrier or Hound/ Boxer mix guy who was saved by Rescue Ridge from a local, New Jersey, overcrowded shelter last year (2/16). His family could not keep him and Rescue Ridge stepped up to save him. . Freddie is adult friendly, housebroken, too! He was then adopted through Rescue Ridge last year and was living the good life. Now, he needs our help again.  He loves to run, snuggle, play ball, and go for walks. He knows "Sit" and takes toys, treats and food gently.  Freddie is fabulous in the car and promises to be your best co- pilot ever! Please apply to foster or adopt Freddie in central N. Story
Sebastian is one of those special saves at Rescue Ridge. He was left locked inside an abandoned Northern New Jersey apartment and nearly starved to death. Rescue Ridge stepped up to save him and nursed him back to health. As if that was not enough, Rescue Ridge again stepped in to help Sebastian to be the best dog that he can be by having him professionally trained on all basic on-leash commands. He is ready for a loving, forever home and would love an adult home with an experienced dog owner. Is that YOU? He is housebroken, good on a leash, and takes treats/toys gently. Sebastian would be best in an active home, someone who likes to walk or run or do a nice weekend hike. He wants to be the only pet in your home and will be a most loyal and loving boy. Here is Sebastian doing what he loves to do...play fetch! https://youtu.be/mGpDO-4KqWI At almost 4 yrs. old, Sebastian is the perfect age (and the perfect size 40 lbs.) for many homes. Please apply to adopt Sebastian at rescueridge.com and if your application is a possible match a volunteer will get back to you shortly. No inquiries, please, without an application.   Sebastian's adoption fee is $400.00.   Sebastian comes with food, a collar, a leash, and some training lessons for the new parents.,           Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
Some dogs just pull at your heartstrings. Some dogs teach us what inner strength and courage are all about. Some dogs just want to play and stay in the moment, one sniff of fresh air, one listening to the sounds of people laughing, birds chirping, wind blowing. Martin just wants to enjoy his life. Saved by Rescue Ridge from a local, overcrowded, inner city shelter, Martin awaits your love and his forever home in a foster home. He loves people! Martin is very smart and alert. He enjoys company . He is dog-friendly with dogs who understand that, because he is visually impaired, he doesn't always understand social cues and is a bit clumsy. Martin is best in a home with older children because he probably can only see shadows. This impairment doesn't stop him from enjoying running around the play yard at his foster home or snuggling on the couch by your side. He is affectionate and very sweet. If you put a treat in front of his face, he will try his best to take it gently but does not always succeed. He can't help it. He tries. Martin is housebroken. He needs a fenced in yard and needs supervision in the yard because he will follow a scent and can escape. He is a wonderful boy, around 5 yrs. old. Will you take him home and show him that his life matters? Please apply to adopt Martin in central N. J. at Rescue Ridge at rescueridge.com and text 732 546 8805 to meet him.
