Story
Porter came to us as a stray, and it was clear from the start that life hadn’t always been kind to him. This little guy arrived shy, timid, and unsure of the world around him, carrying the quiet weight of a rough past. But over the month he’s spent with us, we’ve watched him begin to unfold in the most beautiful ways. Every morning, without fail, Porter greets breakfast with the sweetest burst of joy — the pitter patter of his tiny feet is enough to melt anyone’s heart. Though he’s still head-shy, he truly enjoys the gentle routine of his daily strolls with our volunteers, trotting along with a calm determination that suits his old-soul spirit. Porter is both blind and deaf, but he navigates his world with grace and surprising confidence. He gets along well with other calm dogs, big or small, and would likely adjust just fine to a more energetic companion as long as they respect his space. What he needs most is a peaceful, patient home where he can feel safe and loved. He may not be a typical lap dog, but he is a gentle presence who deserves comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest in this stage of his life. Porter has weathered so much — now he just needs someone to show him that the world can be gentle, too. If you have a calm home and a heart ready to love an old soul, Porter is waiting.

Story
✨ Meet Candy! ✨ This sweet girl came to us as a stray, and we think she may be a terrier mix — though her exact breed is a mystery. What we do know is that she’s about 5 years old and 100% pure sunshine. ☀️🐾 Candy can be a little shy at first, but give her a few seconds and she’ll warm right up with that happy-go-lucky personality. She LOVES her walks, enjoys every compliment about how beautiful she is (and she hears it a lot!), and is just a joy to be around. Because she arrived as a stray, we’re not fully sure how she does with cats or kids, but we’d guess she’d be okay with proper introductions. With other dogs, she doesn’t seem to have any major issues and has done well meeting them so far. If you’re looking for a gentle, cheerful companion who’s ready for her second chance, Candy might just be your girl! 💕🐶 Send us a message if you'd like to meet her!

Story
🐾 Meet Kemish — Our Shy-but-Sweet Shepherd Boy! 🐾 Kemish is a 7-month-old German Shepherd Dog with the gentlest soul. He’s still learning how big and brave the world can be, so he needs someone who can help him build confidence. 💛 With the people he’s gotten to know here at the shelter, Kemish is a total sweetheart — still a bit standoffish at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes a loving, snuggly companion who just wants to be close. We’re currently helping him with leash training, and he’s making progress every day! What Kemish needs most is a patient, calm, and confident person who can show him the world isn’t so scary. With the right partner, this boy will bloom into the incredible dog we know he can be. 🌼🐕 If you have the time, love, and patience to give, Kemish is ready to give his heart right back. ❤️ 👉 Send us a message or stop by the shelter to meet him! Let’s help this sweet boy find the home he deserves. 🏡🐾
