Story
Kearney, Nebraska - Nash is 3.5 years old, male, weighing ~160+, full Saint Bernard. He is so silly, sweet and has a special sweet spot for girls/women. Great with kids and is a decent guard dog (mostly just has an intimidating bark). He loves to be outside most of the time but is the biggest ham when he gets to cuddle inside with you. He likes to chase his own shadow which is the funniest thing to watch and do with him! He has always lived with an older brother (our 13 year old husky) and our cat. Does great with other dogs and animals. He does like to guard his food bowl if he doesn't eat it all in one sitting but is never aggressive about it just likes to stand like a statue in front of it. He is not neutered but is up to date on all vaccines! He likes to get messy but is so fun to give baths too as he loves being pampered. Nash needs a very loving home where his family can spend more time with him.. My husband and I both got new jobs where we both work 60+ hour weeks and have a toddler at home and a baby on the way. He does get very excited when he sees new dogs or people and can be hard to control since he weighs so much. Just needs more socializing so that he doesn't get so excited, since we have no time in our schedules, we have failed him in that way. He was our dream boy and we just want him to be as happy as he deserves and we have sadly not been prioritizing him that way.

Story
Living at Heartland for an extended period comes with lots of benefits. During my time here I have learned many obedience skills. Spending time in my crate in the office is a real treat for me. My house manners are good. I do like sleeping in big peoples beds. I make myself at home quickly. I’m very proud that I donated blood to help save a fellow dog friend in need. I’m a powerful lady but very responsive to consistent leadership. If you are experienced with large dogs and want a partner on those evening runs, I’m the perfect choice. I also have a very big bark. Obedience training is a snap. You will enjoy challenging my mind as well as my body, I promise. I weigh 88 pounds. I’m still a puppy at heart, happy go lucky but quite intimidating in appearance. I want to be the only pet in the home. I like being the Queen. Because of my strength of body and mind, I would not be a good choice for first time dog owners.***I am microchipped.

Story
My breed combination of Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Labrador make me a great athlete. I weigh about 46 pounds. I will need regular exercise and training, Chesapeakes are smart but strong willed. I respond well to positive training and know sit and down. I am working on my other basic skills with my staff. Consistency in my training will help me build confidence in the folks around me. I enjoy playing ball and happily toss it back to have it thrown again. If you are looking for an active friend to enjoy every part of your life, then stop in. I can`t wait to meet you. We will certainly have many adventures together.***I am micro chipped.

Meet Trudy! I am full of life and energy. Pointers are known for their wonderful use of their nose to find birds and prey. I love to use my nose so games of hiding food or scented objects would be great fun. I am learning some basic skills to start obedience training and already know how to sit. Having an experienced owner that understands my breed would best. Stop in soon to meet me. I am micro chipped just like all my HPC friends.

Story
Meet Mavrick! Shepherds are great watchers of their flock. It could be a family of their very own, a home or anything they decide is their responsibility to watch over. They are very smart. That makes them great fun to train. Working their mind and body is the key to bonding with this breed. I am crate trained. People are my passion. Chain link fences are no challenge for me. Building a deep personal relationship is much more likely to keep me home. Come and meet this charming fellow. You won’t be disappointed!*** All HPC adoptions include microchipping!
