Story
Poppy is a rescue dog. She is on the smaller side, about 30lbs. She has all her vaccinations and is microchoipped. She is very sweet and will be an ideal dog for someone needing a cuddly animal. Poppy is very physically talented and can jump quite high. She requires a fenced yard. She is mostly housebroken but does not like to be left alone for too long and will let you know. Unfortunately she was not well matched for our current living situation (we don't have a fenced yard). Also, just FYI, I believe she may be sensitive to peanuts/peanut butter- even dog friendly. Poppy's adoption includes her kennel, food and accessories.

Story
COURTESY POST FOR A VERY SPECIAL BOY!  Papi is a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier that needs a forever home. He has a story that most won't believe and is incredibly sad. Papi has lived his entire life in a kennel. He has never experienced his own person, couch, bed, or backyard. He quite simply was failed. He was first failed by the people who promised to raise him and give him all the things that he deserved. Papi was then failed a second time by a local rescue in Lincoln Nebraska that took him in and promised him a home. They did not do what a rescue is supposed to do when they take responsibility of an animal in need. This rescue left Papi in a kennel run without any daily social interaction with other dogs and very little interaction with people. They did very little to get his information out to the public. They gave up on him. To say that we are amazed that Papi is as kind and gentle as he is...well that is an understatement. Papi was deemed a dangerous dog and that sealed his fate. He was not trained. He was not tested with other animals. He was labeled and due to that, he sat waiting. He still would be waiting had I not pulled him from this awful life. He would still be sitting there had Joe not taken a leap of faith in this unbelievable dog. Shockingly enough the location that boarded Papi had a trainer on site but the rescue did not care enough to do the work and have anyone work with Papi to see who he really was. It's sad and it makes me so angry. So much time wasted. Papi is now in Glenwood Iowa at S&B Kountry Kennel with Joe and living a life so much better than before but still is not what I wish for him....he needs the couch and the person. Papi is not a dangerous dog, he is quite the opposite. Papi is up to date on all his vaccines, he is neutered, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. Papi has no known illnesses and does not have issues with allergies like some terriers experience. He can be playful and he can be lazy, but what he really wants is to be loved and give hugs. Papi gives the very best hugs! He is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. He is muzzle-trained and leash-trained and is very very smart. We stand behind Papi. For this reason, the person who steps up to be his hero will never be alone in their journey with Papi because we will support them and Papi in any way we can. S&B is offering 4 free training sessions to his potential adopters if they are interested! Plus we love the big lug and would be devastated to not have some special part in his life! You can visit Papi in pictures and videos on S&B Kountry Kennel 's facebook page. I will also leave some videos in comments! Please be Papi's hero. He has waited way too long and half of his life is over...he NEEDS to have a forever home. I am begging... please share with friends, family, loved ones! Let's all come together and show this baby what the power of love and sharing can do. Let's find Papi a home! Story
Meet goofy Rex! He was born 7/24/24 and weighs about 39 lbs. He’s an adorable Shepherd/Lab mix full of playfulness and love. He’s a fun little pup that is outgoing and loves to explore, play with toys, chew bones and get attention from his people. Rex is hard at work with potty training but will need this reinforced in a new home. He is also learning how much fun the backyard is. He is crated trained, eager to learn, and a great snuggler. He loves other dogs and is good with kids. If you’re ready for puppy training and a forever BFF, please apply for Rex today at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org Baby Rex is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on preventives, and will be neutered by our vets when age appropriate.
