Story
This is Molly, a 10 year old Lab/Shephard mix. Her Mom is currently on our hospice and her main concern, even over her own health is who will be taking care of Molly. They are very close. Molly is her registered emotional support dog, part of the family and best buddy. Molly is spayed and will be up to date on her vaccinations. She is a bit on the cubby side at 60 lbs. She has missed some walks because of her owners health issues and is used to getting an abundance of treats because she is such a good girl. She is very friendly and docile. She hasn't lived with other dogs, cats or children but the family believes she would be just fine around them. Molly is currently in South St. Louis County. Molly part of the Mercy Hospice Pet Peace of Mind program. We believe that pets are family and want to provide the peace of mind to our patient that their pets will be loved and taken care of after our patients passing.

Story
I've been sponsored by the Petfinder Kia Grant to help reduce adoption fees. Thanks to the wonderful Petfinder Foundation my adoption fee is only $25.00! My name is Kevin! I'm a 3 year old German Shepherd/Weimeriner mix (I have 10 other breeds too, check out the DNA results in my photos!). I came to the shelter as a stray and unfortunetly, have been at the shelter since and that was over a year ago...I'm really a good boy I just got a bad start in life. I'm going to be blunt- I don't like other dogs and wouldn't do good in a home with cats, but I can make up that extra want for another animal with my love. I have tons of it to give, so no need to have any other pets with me around :) I love belly rubs, going for car rides, and playing in the water. I really just need that special someone that is willing to give me the time and patience to love me and train me. I've had 7 weeks of obidence training under my belt and I'd love to continue my training as I am highly food motivated. I've learned a few things such as "sit" and "lay down" but I know once the right person comes along I will learn TONS more! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1626379##

Story
Hi there! I'm BiBo, a 1 year old Heeler mix with tons of love to share! I'm a sweet and happy girl that was found wandering, but luckily someone swooped in and offered to help me out! I'm living with a foster now and he says I am a good girl. I've got a great little personality and would love to be someone's furever friend. I do good with other dogs and love to play. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
My history is a mystery. I was found in a ditch curled up on a pair of jeans. I was pretty scared. I'm very slowly learning to trust. I'm a great size at about 18 lbs. If you have the patience for me come around and get my confidence, I could be the one you are looking for. I am a special case. I'm not going outside or walking on a leash yet, so when they say patience, they really mean a lot of patience and determination - that is what it will take to help me have a good life. To elaborate a bit more, I never wag my tail. I won't sit next to you on the sofa. I don't like it when you touch me. I mean - - - I'm a really special case.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. ##1890562##

I love to play with other dogs and I'll do anything for a treat. I can even "shake" on it! I am a little selective with new people, so Im ay need an extra meet and greet before going home. Once I know you're a friend, I will love you unconditionally and always. I'm not a fan of kitty cats- they scare me so no feline friends for me unfortunetly. I do great overnight in my kennel and am house-trained.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
I've been sponsored by the Petfinder Kia Grant to help reduce adoption fees. Thanks to the wonderful Petfinder Foundation my adoption fee is only $25.00! Hiya, I'm Finn! I am a 3 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix (best guess). I'm quite the chatterbox. I love to 'talk' to anyone who'll listen. It's my way of saying, 'Hey, let's be friends!' I've got enough energy to keep up with the most active of families, but I'm also a champion snuggler when it's time to wind down. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who loves playtime and cuddles as much as I do. If you need a brave, loyal, and hilarious sidekick, I'm your guy! I do good with other dogs as long as we are properly intoduced. However, I do need a home without cats as I like to chase them. I woul ddo best in a home iwth older children due to my active nature. Did I mention I'm working on training right now? Well I am and I can tell you that I am the best at 'sit' and 'down' that any dog could ever be! Adopt me and I promise you won't regret it. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment.
