Story
My Christmas wish is to have a forever home by Christmas so I can enjoy the holiday snuggled up with my favorite toys and new family. My name is Jake and I am ready to find my forever home. I am a very energetic young male that would love to show you my skills. I can sit, shake and lay on command. I love to play fetch with my ball. I even bring it back and will give it to you to throw again. I am a simple pup. A bowl of food and some water and I am set for the day. I love walks and exercise! I did live with someone before, but they decided they would no longer take care of me at no fault of my own and surrendered me to my current friends. I just went to the vet and received my rabbie’s shot and was neutered. The doc and the office staff said I was a sweet heart. They even let me put a flier up at their office to help find me a home! Please call my personal assistant Corey with the City of Pleasant Valley Missouri at 816-564-3070 to schedule a time to play fetch with me! If there are other furry friends in my potential home I would love to meet them when I meet you. I will even wear a silly outfit for all the family Christmas photos! P.S. I LOVE CAR RIDES!! See you soon!!!

Story
Would prefer them to be rehomed together, they have been with eachother their whole lives and are very attached. They are both amazing dogs who I would love to have for the rest of my life. Unfortunately at this stage of my life I am having to work 2 jobs just to get by and do not have enough time to give them the exercise and play the deserve. Lucy is an amazing and loving dog, who is a little afraid of strangers and other dogs but does warm up pretty quickly with enough love. She is very high energy so would do well with an owner who is able to meet her energy level Stella is just as high energy and incredibly loving, she is not as anxious and is pretty open to meeting new people and animals

Story
Bessie is the black lab in the photo. She is still hoping for a forever home for what remaining time she has left. Bessie is a LOVE BUG with humans. Just melts with attention. She's a food hound and can be mouthy when taking treats, but otherwise she's a gentle girl. Bessie is good with other dogs, but does need a slow intro period. She's just nervous and can bark/try to scare the other dog off at first. Once she knows they aren't out to attack her she's fine. Bessie is a sweetheart and is probably 12+ years old. She was heartworm positive and we did the slow treatment method. She also had a couple small lumps removed, they weren't cancerous. She can be stiff at times, but she's overweight and older so that's to be expected. Some arthritis medication as needed is a good idea. Bessie's adoption fee is waived. She just wants a home. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org

Story
Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals. Not good with cats,
Story
If you're looking for that bully breed smile and cuddling personality then Sadie is your girl! She's all love and wiggles with humans and doesn't know a stranger. She is good with most other dogs, but can be over reactive to high arousal situations. Meaning no dog parks for this girl. She loves to play with toys and will throw the toy and chase it down herself. She loves her people and wants to be with you. She doesn't like cats and she's nervous in new situations. Sadie came from a terrible hoarding situation. (https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/ray-county-sheriffs-office-breaks-up-puppy-mill-50-to-70-dogs-found-on-property) she is looking for a forever home willing to give her stability, rules, and help her be her best self. Sadie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.
