Story
Jack (DOB: 9/21) was brought to the shelter 9/22, as an owner surrender, at 1 year old. He was hit by a vehicle and suffered injuries requiring surgery which his owner could not afford. He has long since recovered from his physical injuries and wants nothing more than to find a special home suited to his needs. Jack knows the basic commands of sit and shake. He is eager to please and has decent focus, so if someone is willing to work with him, he could definitely make progress in this area. Jack is a powerful dog who tends to pull on his walks, so his leash manners are also a work in progress. Jack is wonderful with humans and really loves people. However, due to his strength and size, placement with smaller children would not be advised. Jack does not do well with other animals, so Jack would need to be the only animal in the home. In the shelter, Jack resides in a calm, controlled room with a TV and music, away from other dogs as a result of his reactivity to other dogs. He is walked alone and exercises in a play area without other dogs. His very special adopter would need previous experience with large breed dogs who can have tendencies to be extremely strong, energetic, resourceful, agile, and determined. The preferred adopter will need to reinforce consistent structure, develop his obedience skills, and socialize him in new environments and work on his reactivity to other dogs. The reason we adore this boy is that he will reel you in with his soft eyes and adorable jowly face. If you sit in his room for five minutes, he will snuggle up against you like he just can't get close enough. Bring him a treat, and watch his eyes get the size of half dollars while he slowly takes the treat as gentle as a lamb. He is extremely attached to his emotional support squeaky toy so more of those in his new home is a must. Jack is the kind of dog who will be intensely devoted to his family; a true velcro dog. Jack is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Jack has not been crate trained but only goes to the bathroom outside of his confined space. It's highly likely he could be house trained.

Story
Walter is looking for his forever home. His estimated DOB is 8/21. He weighs 50 lbs and came to the shelter as a stray in February of 2023. He decided quickly that shelter and kennel life was not for him. Walter was not a fan of being confined in his kennel and being left alone for long periods of time causing him a great deal of distress. So, Walter began refusing to return to his space after being let out. He began to express his very strong disapproval of being confined by becoming vocal and mouthy with the staff and volunteers. We quickly partnered with All Dog training to understand how to best support Walter. With their great work, Walter is a happy and healthy boy who, as it turns out, is as snuggly, as he is cute, when outside the shelter. While he continues to work on some minor issues, it is clear that he would make a great family pet as he adores people and is good with kids. Walter likes to play, but doesn't require much exercise. Walter would be happy as the only dog, but does exist with with a pack of dogs at All Dog Obedience. He does best with calm female dogs or calm male dogs who have been altered. Walter will play with companion dogs, but for the most part, he is generally happy to just co-exist with them. Walter doesn't really shed. With his adorable, howl barking thing, Walter is suspected to have some hound in him. He is housetrained however, on rare occasions, he will attempt to mark his territory if he is sharing a space with other dogs who engage in that same behavior. Walter is crate trained now. He kennels without a fuss though he does better with an open area designated as his space. During his lengthy stay at All Dog Obedience, he now knows lots of commands to include: come, sit, down, leave it, easy, quiet, catch, focus, be nice, get your toy, kennel, and outside. We think he is a very smart boy who has not met his people. We hope someone, somewhere, will read this story and find room in their hearts for this boy. Walter really is a wonderfully, quicky, yet amazing old soul. Preferably, we would love to see him go into a foster to adopt situation where he can settle in slowly and make sure he is a good fit with his family. Please share broadly for this boy to find his perfect family

Story
Rockzee was adopted as a pup and was returned when the family had life changes. She is in training to learn basic obedience skills and we are evaluating her for playgroups. She is sweet and eager to please. She has lots of energy as do most young dogs. But after running around the play yard, playing fetch and some training will burn off that energy.

Story
Very shy and sweet. June has come out of a lot of shyness with the help of our volunteers taking time to help her overcome her shyness. She has a very sweet personality and gets along well with other dogs in our playgroups. She can be a bit shy of new people but she warms up quickly. She would make a great and loyal companion. She has a calm demeanor and just wants to be by your side. She is in our shelter dog training classes and knows the basics. She plays well with the other dogs at the shelter in our playgroups.
