Story
Otis was my mom’s dog. She passed away a year and a half ago. We took Otis into our home full time about 4 months ago. He is a special needs senior dog. He has arthritis and GI issues. My mom had always wanted a yorkie and our local humane society had a hoarding case of all yorkies. Most were unable to be adopted but my mom was able to adopt one of the few that were left. He has been through a lot even before making his way into my mom’s life. They were able to spend years together and he never left her side. After she passed he continued to live at her home with my siblings. Once they moved out we took him in. We already have cats and a dog in our home and I have been working to sort out my own personal health issues. Taking on another special needs senior animal is something we have found is unable to be done. We are looking for a loving home for Otis. The decision was not made lightly. He would do best in a single pet home with someone who he can be attached to.

Story
Jet, loving known as Jetter Jetter Jetski, came to PAWS after the person who had him and his brother broke their jaws. Bennie's was a clean break and healed quickly. He is enjoying life with a wonderful mom and dad who love him very much. Unfortunately, Jet's jaw was shattered beyond repair. After many vet visits and consultations, it seemed that the best plan of action was to wait until he was a year old (after all of his growing was complete) and then try to replace the jaw. We had a surgeon lined up and the appointment made but he suddenly decided he did not want to try the procedure. But the good news is that during all of the waiting time, Jet has flourished and grown, despite all of the odds against him. He is a 75 lb, full of life, ready to play, energetic, take on the world, boy! It is now the opinion of the vets that he can live a full and happy life just as he is, without jaw replacement. Yes, he has a disability that requires that he can only eat canned food but that has not stopped him from doing everything that every other dog does. He can tear up stuffed toys with the best of them! He will require a home with someone who can devote the time to making sure he eats only canned food and is never given any hard food or treats that might become lodged and choke him. He will be best in a home with no children. He likes other dogs but tends to play very rough and all out! If you are ready to welcome this very special, precious boy into your home, please go to https://www.pawspaws.org to complete the application. His adoption fee is $200.00.

Story
Sheena was found on the side of the road. Someone had most likely dumped and then someone hit her and left her. A passerby picked her up and took her to the vet. Luckily her injuries were pretty minor and she recovered quickly. She is an energetic, smart, funny young girl who loves to play. She has not done well with other dogs so far as she plays really rough and can be intimidating! If introduced slowly, she will most likely be fine with dogs around her size. I would not recommend a home with small children since she does tend to play so rough. She is thought to be have been born around December, 2020. She currently weighs about 40 lbs. She is a happy girl who will make you smile with her beautiful happy outlook! She listens well and just wants to please so badly. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested, please go to pawspaws.org and complete the application. Once approved, I will contact you to set up a meet and greet so you can come to meet this baby girl! Thanks for your interest!

Story
If you are interested, you MUST complete the application. We will only set up meet and greets with an approved application. Pixie is one of 10 small defenseless little dogs that was dumped in the middle of many many acres of nothing but soybean and corn fields. What a horrible fate for these dear sweet babies. Animal Control was called and they called PAWS to see if we could assist with trying to catch them and take them in. We have spent over two weeks (at the time of this post) and managed to catch 7 of them. We are still working to catch the last two that we can find and have not seen the 10th one since the first day. These babies have been through quite the ordeal and are now ready to go on to homes where they will be loved and doted on. They are all shy at first and definite flight risks so they will not be adopted to homes with children and will require that the adopter have a fenced yard. This beautiful girl, Pixie, is very shy and will take someone with lots of love and patience to win her over. She came around very quickly with me but gets very scared if anything in her environment changes or if she is taken to a new environment (such as the vet). She is a very loving little girl who wants to be loved so badly but just can't forget that humans have not been kind to her. She is still very afraid of fast movements. She will do well with other other dogs as long as they are her size or smaller and allow her to be the boss. She is about 11 lbs and we guestimate that she was born around 07/01/2018. Her adoption fee is $350.
