Story
Due to a house fire we’re unable to keep this awesome guy. His name is Leo and he is 6 years old. Fun fact and you can see dots that make a L on his nose. He is such a great great asset to the family. He loves to sing especially happy birthday. He sits, shakes, he’ll even close your back door for a treat. He is energetic and need someone that’s going be able to give him the time and energy that he needs each day. He loves to play catch but also to sit on your lap and just get hugs. It’s not required, but If it all possible he has a brother Titus that I would like to not split them up and rehome together if I’m able

Story
Approx. DOB: 3/24/24                Approx. Weight: 45 Lb Adoption Fee: $250 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!   New Pictures Coming  Winnie is so gorgeous with her orangeish color fur. It's so thick and in great shape. Winnie is young and full of life. She loves to chase the other dogs in the group to play tag or just to see who the fastest runner is. We haven't witnessed any dominance or aggressiveness towards any of the other dogs. She can sometimes think she is a smaller dog but doesn't realize she is playing a bit too rough. It's on accident and it happens when she thinks patting them on the back is OK but she accidently rolls them over. The dogs haven't been hurt because it's a gentle roll over.  A quick correction and she listens so well.     She listens really well but being young you need to be firm in your voice. Winnie would be thrilled to go to obedience classes. We are still learning more about her everyday and from what we have learned so far she is going to make a terrific companion for some lucky family.      I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Approx. DOB: 3/12/21                Approx. Weight: 40 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Callie can climb chain link fences so a wood or wrought iron fence would work best or an active family that will take her on walks. She loves going for walks, jogs and runs! Hi, I'm Callie.I am roughly 3.5 years old and full of lots of energy. I love my humans, especially the little ones - they're my favorite people. I love other dogs but need to be in a home with other dogs my size because I sometimes forget how big I am compared to the little ones. I don't mind cats too much, but sometimes they scare me. I get a bath once a month and I need my nails trimmed every two weeks.I love to play outside, but it's best if a friend goes with me because I get the zoomie zooms and I can jump pretty high, sometimes over a fence or up a tree. I'm not quite sure about toys, but am slowly learning to play with them. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell if it's a dog toy or human toy, so I'll need help learning which ones are mine. I graduated from K-9 citizenship school and my trainer says I'm the best girl and I can sit, shake, laydown and sometimes stay, although we're still working on that. So sometimes I'll dart out the front door, so be sure to tell me to sit and stay before you open the door. I don't really mind the kennel for short periods of time if you give me something to chew on. I need help during the Fourth of July, the big booms really scare me, so please ask the doctor for medicine to help keep me calm.I love my kibble, but if you could make it wet in the morning - that's my favorite way to eat it. I eat about two cups of food a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. I don't usually eat more than that, but on days that I'm extra active, I might need more. Callie was just treated for heartworms so it is very important that she stay on heartworm prevention year round for the rest of her life. UPDATED BIODOB: 4/13/24                          Current Weight(as of 2/25): 45pds Adoption Fee: $200 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. LEGO is in a foster home and this is their update! Lego is crate trained and  housebroken!! Lego is super smart and has learned the 'sit', 'stay', ' come'  commands.  He is really well behaved in the home. He is still going thru the chewing stage so we have plenty of appropriate things he can chew on.  Lego loves people and is a people pleaser. Lego would love going to obedience classes to continue his learning.  Lego has turned into a well adjusted, gentle, sweet dog looking for his forever family.  Lego came to us from the Nevada  Animal  shelter as a puppy, he is now a year old.  He has beautiful eyes. Lego loves other dogs and he loves playing with all sizes but the little ones..... under 20pds can sometimes be overwhelmed with his playfulness. He would be a great playmate for a medium or large size dog.  Lego loves water! He has to put his paws in the water dish if not watched.  We have a kid size plastic pool that he loves to play in.  Lego will do great with most any family. Lego definitely sounds more like a hound when he barks! Lego requires a home with a fenced yard and kids 16 and older. Lego has been neutered, wormed, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is on monthly heartworm prevention (required year round) If you are interested in meeting/adopting Lego just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.
