Story
Buddy has been with us since the end of May, 2024. As time went on and no one adopted him, I went ahead and got him neutered and all of his shots. The adoption fee is to recoup a small portion of the money I spent on getting him up to standards. He is EXCELLENT with my 10 year old, if you want a dog to roll around on the floor and snuggle with you on the couch or bed, Buddy is your guy!!! He is such a sweet dog, but I already had 3 dogs before he came, so I am completely full, I just cannot keep him any longer! I also have a very serious medical condition, and the strain of a fourth dog is not helping me heal. He is very intelligent, and learns quickly. He can sit, shake, and lay down. I have crate trained him during his time here. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. He does do better with cats he knows, so slow introductions are advised. He is high energy but then crashes and sleeps for hours like a typical hound! He is very motivated by treats for training.

Story
Pixie was being given away. She is tiny! She is around 4 pounds. I felt very sorry for her because she was matted and very smelly. She looked like she needed help! She is a very sweet dog. The people said she belonged to their aunt who passed away. They said she was up to date on shots but could not produce any paperwork or even tell me the name of the vet. They said she was housebroken. SHE IS NOT HOUSEBROKEN BUT SEEMS VERY SMART. They said she is 4 years old but this is really unknown. I brought her home and bathed her several times. I treated her for ear mites and trimmed out the mats as best as I could as my groomer was booked for over a month. I left her in the crate over night and she eliminated in the crate. I am working on potty training but I do not have the time to put into helping her learn. She needs someone to love and dote on her!! Please take her into your life and give her a great home!

Story
Carousel's DOB is 08/12/2015 and she's a white and black Pit Bull Terrier. Carousel was adopted from the Haven as a puppy. She and that family had a wonderful bond. It is through no fault of her own that she is back at the sanctuary and looking for another home. She has been around children ages three and up and done well with them. She should not live with cats because she plays too rough around them, and she should meet any new dogs before going home with them. No chickens please! She is house trained and likes to sleep on couches. Her favorite toys are plastic bottles, stuffed animals, inflatable beach balls, and large sticks. The smaller the dog, the more Carousel likes it! Carousel does have allergies so will require specific care. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
Meet Ward! Ward is a gorgeous brindle Shepherd mix with an estimated DOB of 05/05/2016. He is a happy go lucky boy who is accustomed to leash walks, crate trained, likes other dogs (but we think he would do best in a home with older dogs or calm dogs. He doesn't seem to be a fan of smaller dogs). He doesn't like sharing food so would need to be fed separately. Ward knows commands, "sit", "up", and "shake". There is nothing this boy won't do for a treat. Although he isn't a pup anymore, this boy has quite the playful side, but he also enjoys being a couch potato. His ideal family will be gentle with him. He recently spent time in a foster home and does well with kids of all ages. He made himself right at home in her room in fact! He would be best in a home with no cats. All our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.
