Story
Libby is a very sweet, mild mannered Shorkie that we rescued 4 years ago. She was mistreated before very malnourished and her coat was barely there. Looking at her now you would never know it. BUT as our toddler gets older Libby gets unhappier. The volume and activity just has her stressed out and hiding under furniture all day. Weve been concerned for about a year but it’s just gotten to the point where we feel awful. She has reverted to some old habits. Such as peeing on any rugs/towels/carpet. The stress is just too much for her and she needs a quiet comfortable home where she can relax again. She is the sweetest dog we’ve had. Very lovey. Would sit next to me and be petted for hours if she could. Not a barker either. My middle daughter loves her to pieces. We just want to make sure she goes to the right home, without young children.

Story
Marco is 2 years old and weighs between 25-30 pounds. He is UTD on vaccines. He has a generally sunny disposition. He wears clothes and likes them! He LOVES men. He likes to cuddle on the couch. He likes to sleep with people-but is ok in his crate overnight. He tolerates his bath with no issues. He does not do well at the groomers and must be muzzled to do his nails. He has all four dew claws. He came to live with me because he lost his people; an elderly couple and their elderly small dog. Marco doesn't do well on his own. I don't have the time to spend with him. He is young, and sweet, and needs a forever home.

Story
Carousel's DOB is 08/12/2015 and she's a white and black Pit Bull Terrier. Carousel was adopted from the Haven as a puppy. She and that family had a wonderful bond. It is through no fault of her own that she is back at the sanctuary and looking for another home. She has been around children ages three and up and done well with them. She should not live with cats because she plays too rough around them, and she should meet any new dogs before going home with them. No chickens please! She is house trained and likes to sleep on couches. Her favorite toys are plastic bottles, stuffed animals, inflatable beach balls, and large sticks. The smaller the dog, the more Carousel likes it! Carousel does have allergies so will require specific care. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
Meet Ward! Ward is a gorgeous brindle Shepherd mix with an estimated DOB of 05/05/2016. He is a happy go lucky boy who is accustomed to leash walks, crate trained, likes other dogs (but we think he would do best in a home with older dogs or calm dogs. He doesn't seem to be a fan of smaller dogs). He doesn't like sharing food so would need to be fed separately. Ward knows commands, "sit", "up", and "shake". There is nothing this boy won't do for a treat. Although he isn't a pup anymore, this boy has quite the playful side, but he also enjoys being a couch potato. His ideal family will be gentle with him. He recently spent time in a foster home and does well with kids of all ages. He made himself right at home in her room in fact! He would be best in a home with no cats. All our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
MacGyver's estimated DOB is 11/05/2015 and he's a brown and white Beagle Mix. MacGyver loves to go on walks and would make the perfect walking buddy. He is very intelligent and easy to train with treats. His perfect owner will be patient and firm with MacGyver. He has a bit of resource aggression - but can live happily with animals if the toys and food are kept separate. He is a massive cuddle bug and loves to be the center of attention. MacGyver must be an outside dog due to territorial issues. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
Gentle Ben's estimated DOB is 06/12/2015 and he's a white and brown Red Heeler. He was found tied to a boat with a steel cable - he had deep injuries on his neck as a result from this cable digging into his skin. Regardless of how badly he was treated in the past, Gentle Ben is a sweet and happy boy these days! Ben adores all the attention he can get from his humans! This gentle boy can be shy and hesitant to trust new people but once that bond is made he is right by your side. This gentle soul does well in a crate at night and when recently in a foster home needed a few reminders about house training but seemed to pick up quickly on it. Ben has been known to pester cats and small animals so would do best as the only animal in the home. Ben can jump a regular chain-link fences, so he will require a privacy fenced home or leash walks. We would love love love to see someone take a chance on this perfect boy. He has gotten so used to life at the shelter that he seems to have given up on the possibility of a forever home, and doesn't show his true self when he's out at adoption events or meeting new people. Those of us that he knows well can attest that he is truly the sweetest, goodest boy! All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.
