Story
Tanner is a 8.5-year-old schnauzer/beagle mix. He's a sturdy, adorable 24lbs. He is super smart, sweet, and loyal. He follows his foster mom everywhere and loves to snuggle up on the couch. He's potty and crate trained. Tanner is a "one person" kind of guy. Once he bonds with someone he is incredibly friendly, loving, and loyal but has had some behavioral issues when additional people are around. It is important that Tanner have an experienced owner who understands how to keep him separated from other people in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. Tanner is muzzle trained and that is a great option when needed. Tanner loves playing tug and fetch with squeaky plush toys, and spending time outside. He will greet you at the door with a toy every time you come home. He's is trustworthy when left outside of his kennel when his foster mom is gone. He doesn't chew on things and other than maybe some initial marking in a new home doesn't have accidents. He mostly just naps and waits for his human to come home. He will sleep in his kennel at night but much prefers to sleep with you. He will just curl up next to you for the whole night until you make him get out of bed in the morning. Tanner loves to hang out outside so a securely fenced in yard works best. He does bark some but settles down once he's more comfortable with the sights and sounds of his home. He can not be left on a tie out where other people or dogs may approach him. He would not do well in an apartment due to his barking. He loves to go for walks and walks nicely with a gentle leader harness. Tanner gets along fine with other smaller, polite, friendly dogs with slow introductions. He loves the smaller female dogs in the two foster homes he has been in. He generally gets along better with female dogs than other male dogs. He does not resource guard but if another dog steals something valuable (like a bully stick) from him it will cause a fight. Due to this he should not be around puppies or other dogs who are not well mannered. He does not do well with cats. At the end of the day, he's a very loving guy who would just like to hang out at home, play with his owner, and go for walks. He's looking for an understanding and loving home where he can be his best self. No cats, no kids. No tie outs. Adoption fee is $300 plus tax Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Are you the one? Please read my whole bio. Hey there, hoomans of the internet! My name is Pancho, and I would love more than anything to find my forever home. I'm looking for an experienced owner and a specific environment that fits my needs, but I just know that there is someone out there with a heart big enough to take a chance on me! My foster mom says that when I'm with the people I trust, in the safety of my home, I'm gentle, loving, goofy, well-behaved, a great listener, and the biggest snuggle bug. She's a little biased but she says I'm destined to be some lucky person's heart dog. Here's what my ideal home looks like: * Experienced Dog Owner Required: Someone who can read my body language, manage my interactions with other dogs and people, and who understands my quirks and can provide the structure I need. * No Other Dogs or Regular Playdates: I am picky around other dogs and need a family who respects my boundaries. I can get along with some submissive dogs and I love puppies, but I resource guard around other dogs, so I need owners who are attentive and responsible when I'm around other pups. * No Kids: I require a home without children or regular child visitors. * Cats on a Case-by-Case Basis: While I've lived with cats before, I really like to chase and play with kitties and don't always know when to leave them alone, so any knew cat siblings would need to be tested on a case by case basis as I may cause them stress. * Fenced Yard Required: I am reactive towards other dogs when I'm walking on the leash, and I have that classic husky prey drive. Because of this, it's not always possible for me to get all the exercise I need through walks. I need a home with a fenced yard so that I can run and play and have zoomies to help get my energy out. * No Apartments: due to my reactivity towards other dogs, and distrust of strangers, I am not suited for an apartment. I know that I come with a lot of requirements for my new home, but for the right person, I promise I will be worth it!! Here's a bit more about me: * I've Got Skills! I'm potty trained and know lots of commands, and not just the basic boring ones! I love to learn and mom has taught me to roll-over, spin, weave between her legs, "wait" for a treat that's in front of me, and more! I'm also crate-trained, but you don't need to crate me because I am a perfect gentleman and I can be trusted to free roam while my humans are away. Foster mom leaves me for 8-10 hours three days a week and I never get into trouble! * I'm Active: I love outdoor adventures like hikes, jogs, splashing in the water, and going for car rides. "Car" is my favorite word and I get so excited when I hear it! I'd be a great running partner, and I'm your perfect adventure buddy. I'm still working on my short-leash skills - it's really hard not to pull when the rabbits and squirrels in the neighborhood are taunting me! But I love when mom takes me out on my long line to go exploring and sniffvestigate to my heart's content. * I'm Playful and Goofy! I am the biggest goofball and I love, love, LOVE to play with my stuffies! My favorite toy is my rainbow that has lots of little unicorns living inside. I love to take them out and have mom throw them for me. I don't rip my toys or destroy them, I just love to squeak them, toss them around, and snuggle them when I'm sleepy. I have a silly personality that makes everyone laugh, and I will always make your day brighter with my hilarious antics! * I Have Guardian Instincts: I take my role as protector seriously, so I'm best suited for someone who values safety and wants a loyal companion. I would be a great companion for a woman who wants to go on solo walks, hikes and/or runs and feel safe while doing so. * I'm Muzzle-trained: My muzzle is a great tool that my foster mom uses to help keep me and any strange dogs or humans I interact with safe. I'm trained to go for long walks with my muzzle on, so mom can take me places where an off-leash dog might run up to me. Mom also uses my muzzle to introduce me to new people, as I get really nervous when strangers reach their hands towards me and sometimes I'm so afraid I'll snap at them. However, once I decide someone is my friend, the muzzle can come off! I warm up to most women right away, and while I'm more distrustful of men, with some extra time and patience I will come to love them too. I thought my foster grandpa was pretty suss when we first met, but now he's one of my favoritest hoomans ever! I am totally trustworthy around people, once I know they're not going to hurt me and decide they can join my snuggle club. To recap, I thrive with a slow introduction to new people and dogs. My ideal family will cherish my loving nature and help me maintain boundaries with strange dogs and humans and respect my need for a calm and structured environment. And of course provide me with lots of stuffies and a lap that is always open for cuddles! If you're an experienced dog owner who's ready for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion, let's meet! My foster mom says she would adopt me in a heartbeat, but then she wouldn't be able to help more dogs like me down the road. She wants you to know that taking a chance on a dog like me and putting the work in to make me feel at home is one of the most fulfilling things a pawrent can do, and if you take that chance it will change both our lives for the better! I've been waiting almost a year for someone to see my potential...are you the one I've been waiting for? Story
Meet Harper. Harper is a special adoption. Harper has been in our rescue for 2.5 years. Why so long? Harper came from a hoarding case years ago and just still hasn't enjoyed people touching her. Is she the happiest dog you will meet? Yes she still loves life, loves other dogs and loves to lounge on the couch. Harper is looking for a home who will accept her and her fear of being touched and be ok with that. She is house broken and will use a potty pad. She really doesn't even need to go outside if you don't want her to. You can't walk her as she doesn't want you to touch her so fenced yard is required. She gets sedation to go to the vet. But she is loved and deserves love. We will waive her adoption fee for adopters willing to give Harper Lee a life. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org If you have questions about Harper, email Lori@campcompanion.org Adoption fee is free.

Story
Meet Roscoe, a smart and curious dog who's eager to bond with his forever family. He loves spending time with his foster brothers-two cats-when they allow it, and enjoys playtime with his foster brother, a big dog. His absolute favorite activity is chasing after his beloved green soccer ball, and he could do it for hours! Roscoe is a loyal companion who loves to be close to his people. He'll follow you from room to room, whether it's upstairs to the office or downstairs for a coffee break, always happy to stay by your side and relax at your feet. Roscoe would thrive with someone experienced with timid dogs, as he can be a stand off and fearful due to his rough start in life. He has been returned before due to biting out of fear, but his bites aren't out of aggression-they stem from his guarded nature around strangers. It doesn't take long for him to get past this initial fear and bond deeply with new people, but he'll need a patient and dedicated adopter to help him feel secure while he works through his anxieties. Don't let this stop you from considering Roscoe! After just one week in his foster home, he settled in and blossomed into a completely different dog. Once he feels comfortable, it's incredibly rewarding to see his playful personality and gentle demeanor shine through. His gentle heart bonds best with females, though he's comfortable with males after some time to get to know them. While he's not a fan of kennels, we're working on it, and he'd love to be the kind of dog who snuggles in bed with you at night if you're looking for a cuddle partner. Since Roscoe can be a bit nervous around kids, he'd do best in a home without young children or with dog-savvy older kids. If you're looking for a loyal, playful friend who adores fetch and being around his people, Roscoe is your guy! He thrives in a home filled with love and attention, and he's fantastic with other dogs, making him the perfect addition to a multi-dog household. Ready to bring Roscoe into your heart and home? Apply today for a lifetime of love, companionship, and endless fetch games! Adoption fee is $300 plus tax; apply at www.campcompanion.org.

Story
* Note: Lixue is not for adoption and will be staying in her foster home for the rest of her days. Please read about her and help us support her and her foster while she navigates her heart condition and enjoys her days, however many she may have. * I love to think about the first moment I met Lixue. She had come in on transport and her little face looked so confused at what was going on. At 4 months old, she had been spent her life up until that point outside with a pine straw bed. Her face was literally the cutest face I had ever seen. I took her home and she sat quietly on our couch all day, completely unsure of this sudden upheaval of her life. How strange to sit on a couch inside of a home! We had agreed to foster her because she had a heart murmur, so therefore could not be sold by the breeder. Despite the heart murmur, the assumption was that it would be benign and she would be adopted quickly. I noticed how obvious the murmur was just by touching her chest. After a visit to the vet, the plans to have her spayed were put on hold until they could take a better look at her heart. She had an Echocardiogram done and then the images were sent off to a cardiologist. When the results came back, we were crushed. Lixue had severe sub-aortic stenosis which had already caused much damage to her heart. They told us she could not be spayed, she could not be adopted and she was at risk of sudden death. The vet told me she had weeks to months to live. We decided that we would continue to foster her for the time she had left, knowing our hearts would soon be broken. That was in Dec. 2022 Fast forward to today...she is nearly 2 years old and living her best life. She has grown accustomed to life inside a home and with a family that loves her. She has 2 other dog siblings whom she loves. She howls every morning until we feed her. She steals shoes and stuffed animals-really anything that's left within reach. Her favorite sleep position is on her back with her legs spread. She has also seen many other foster animals come and go and has been welcoming to them all. Lixue requires twice daily heart meds to lower her blood pressure and keep her heart less stressed as well as regular vet checkups. We hope she will continue to defy expectations. She is our forever foster girl. You can donate today to help Lixue live the best life she can with her foster family. When making a donation, put in notes section "Lixue. https://checkout.shelterluv.com/donate/CCMN
