Story
Bliss is a 16 year old poodle mix. He lived with the same family all those years until he came to Grey Face. We were quite surprised how fast he adjusted to new surroundings and new people. Bliss is deaf and almost blind, however, there are things he will see. I think he sees better outside in bright light. He loves to walk and sniff the world around him. Bliss is a sweet boy, so healthy. He needs an understanding caring owner who will continue to give him love and good care. His foster home has two adults, two dogs and one outside cat. The two dogs were kept separate, except on walks. He and the cat were fine. Age: 16 years Breed: Poodle/mix Weight: 15 pounds Kid-friendly: Hasn't been around children in his foster home, sudden movements do startle him. Dogs: Bliss can be afraid of high-energy dogs. He would match best with a low-energy dog that will give him space. Cats: Yes Crate trained: He is fine with his crate and his enclosure. Those are his safe places. Potty trained: Yes and No. Bliss is potty trained but at age 16 he is best wearing a belly band. We take him out every couple of hours with our other senior but he can go longer. Health concerns: He is a bit stiff so continued joint supplements are recommended. Current medications & estimated costs: He is currently taking Trazodone. This is a recent addition, 25 mg seems to be good as he can be anxious, once settled he may not need Trazodone Adoption fee: $175 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.
