Story
Please meet Rupert! Rupert is a 2 year old male being fostered in CT.  He is crate trained and housebroken.  He is a young, active, healthy, strong boy that loves to play and get some exercise every day.   His favorite things are squeaky toys along with treats that his foster home is using for training.  He has very good house manners. He is learning some basic obedience such as sit, stay and leash walking.  He gets along with other med to large dogs and has been playing in the foster home with the resident dogs.  No small dogs or cats. He is a very strong boy physically and mentally.  He needs someone that has prior working dog experience and would be able to continue with his basic training and leash walking.  A secure fenced yard is needed so he car run around without always being on leash.  He is very sweet boy and we know he will continue to flourish with the right family.  Any children in the home must be over the age of 13 years.   All rescues in the care of  Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro chipped before being placed into their adoptive home. Completed application, vet reference and a home check required. Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue does NOT ship or fly rescues as it’s too stressful on them. Story
Three year old Manji is ready for his forever family. Manji likes belly rubs, chewing antlers, being kissed on the cheek, car rides and drinking out of the hose. He is crate trained. He has been working on his leash manners but does still pull. His foster family adores him and would love to adopt him but they have a male Dogue de Bordeaux and the two do not always get along. Manji does not do well with small dogs, he could be placed with a female dog simalar in size. Cats are unknown.  He may be placed in a home with children six and over. Manji was likely mistreated prior to coming into our care. Certain movments of adults casue him to cower and scamper away. When he first arrived he was afraid of the dark and he would bark and bark if left alone overnight. A member of his foster family slept on the floor next to him for weeks until he felt safe, now he rarley barks. Manji has gained a great deal of confindence living with a loving family.   While in our care Manji had a benign melanocytoma removed from his face and blepharoplasty surgery on both eyes to correct entropion (eye lids rolling in) and macroblepharon (to place the lids in normal position). He has completly recovered and needs no further care.   All rescues in the care of  Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and micro chipped before being placed into their adoptive home. Story
Foster Home Needed Washington State   This good looking, five year old boy is Astro. He is one of the four that were surrendered in Washington at the end of May. He is currently at the same foster home as his dad Apollo. We are looking for a new foster for Astro, he is jealous of his dad and starts showing it when dad gets attention. We were told that he and the other three are dog friendly, so the jealousy may be because of the new environment. He is leery of men but getting better with the foster dad. https://ddbrescue.org/volunteer-application/ August 9, 2024, 9:54 pm
