daily walk and plenty of interactive playtime. Her family must be able and willing to provide this for her every day. 2. A small, playful dog of equal energy would be great for Bella. She enjoys playing with another dog and thoroughly enjoys other canine companionship. 3. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but is not a deal breaker. Because Bella loves to run and explore, she would enjoy a secure area in which to do so under supervision. 4. A family who is home much of the day and will include her in their daily activities. Bella attaches easily to her people and just wants to be with them. 5. An adults only family; children over the age of ten who understand how to interact gently with a small dog will be considered. 6. A family who will understand, be patient, and continue helping Bella with her house training. She is doing well while in foster care, but it is not guaranteed that she will be housetrained when she is adopted. 7. Adoptive family should live within 45 miles of the Twin City area so Bella’s foster mom can schedule a home visit. 8. Adoptive family must commit to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion of Minnesota held in September each year. Bella will be available for adoption near the end of November due to necessary upcoming surgeries. But applications for adoption are being accepted now. She is scheduled to be spayed November 11th. She is currently in heat, so her spay had to be postponed for two months for medical safety. At the time of her spay she will also have her left cherry eye repaired. as a red, swollen mass on the lower eyelid near the nose resembling a cherry. The official name is a prolapse of the third eyelid gland. To meet Bella, please complete an adoption application at the website listed in the first paragraph. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon the first Saturday of every month at the Southtown PetCo in Bloomington, MN

Story
Bogo is half Bulldog and half American Bulldog. Bogo was a rescue from Dallas and he was found on the streets just skin and bones, but is doing great now. Bogo loves toys and is highly toy driven. He likes to chew but will stick to his toys, balls being his preferred toy. Bogo loves to play and at night he is a big cuddler. Bogo ignores other dogs and people, focusing on toys. Bogo is crate trained, e-collar trained, and has gone through extensive obedience training. He is very good with his recall, sit, down, stay, wait, free/ok. We adopted Bogo as our second dog, but unfortunately our older dog does not like him AND our older dog is reactive. Bogo feeds off that energy and it is not a good situation for him. Bogo has some impulse control at high energy levels and is still mouthy. He would do well in a calmer environment but where someone is still able to play with him. He is fine with kids, but because he is still mouthy, so an experience dog family would be best.

Story
Jinx is a 9 year old border collie looking for a home where he can stay busy and challanged. He is smart, intense and has a high drive He needs a home with experience and interest in training. He is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle as much as play! He is very loyal and wants to please his people. He is housebroken and crate trained. This boy loves to play fetch and can spend hours pushing balls around the yard! Jinx has lived with many dogs and has done well with most, but can be selective. He may do best as an only dog. He is not good with cats. Jinx is neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative, and microchipped. Jinx is not an easy dog, but he will be an amazing friend to the right family! Jinx is a courtesy post, please do not contact MUSHR but instead email his foster owner at megwagner@hotmail.com and include some information about your family. Jinx is fostered outside of the metro area, you must be willing to travel to meet him.

Story
A portion of Coco's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $275.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi, my name is Coco! From the Foster: A typical day with Coco, I am home with Coco all day, with the exception of appointments, errands, etc. After nearly 2 years in our home, Coco has settled in and become a delightful companion dog. She gets along well with, and seems to take cues from, my black lab with a calm temperament. I have modified living arrangements such that the cats are kept separate from her- she seems to have high prey drive and due to limited vision perhaps cant really tell them apart from a squirrel. I had hoped after this long hearing and smelling them, and occasionally seeing them through the gate, she would have become accustomed to them, but alas she is just not a kitty dog. I keep Coco's medication pretty consistent, aiming for 12 hours apart. Coco and Lucy (my resident dog) both sleep on my bed all night. They don't get up until I do, and are great about going right outside and then in to eat and Coco has her oral meds, eye meds, and insulin. She is a champ taking her meds, doesn't resist at all. Throughout the day, Coco and Lucy go between my office and bedroom, taking long naps (they are 9 after all). Coco loves to race outside into the fenced yard with Lucy and search for real or imagined critters. The only thing that deters her is rain! A strange sound or presence will get her raising the alarm, but she settles down quickly and back to her sniffing and taking long luxurious naps in the sun. She may alarm due to her limited vision, but no significant limitations. Coco loves to be where I am, and would rather tag along in the car than be left behind, but thanks to occasional medication and my very mellow black lab, she is feeling more secure and safe as time goes on. She does fine out of the crate in the house, does not chew on unacceptable items, and can wait several hours to go outside. She has never had an accident indoors. Coco loves a long walk, especially a leisurely sniffari. Due to a lot of training, she is not nearly as concerned about other dogs out on walks as she used to be. I try not to get too close for comfort for her, and help her feel safe and confident. SHH can set an adopter up with ongoing training, too. She is pretty stressed, though, if she cant get out of perceived threat area, so instead of dog parks or busy recreation areas, we stick with the familiar neighborhood and a quiet regional nature park. Evenings are super-relaxed. Right after eating their dinner, both pups settle in for reading, watching a movie, or going to bed early. Coco loves to lay on the couch next to a warm body. She isn't a lap dog, not a hugger, but does love to snuggle. Through the course of my veterinary care at The Bond Between it was found that I have diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and mature cataracts. Luckily, my foster and the doctors at The Bond Between and BluePearl took great care of me, and I am now ready to find my forever home! I had surgery for my cataracts, and I can see much better now. Future adopters should know that due to my multiple endocrine diseases, I will need to continue to work with a primary veterinarian, as well as an internal medicine specialist (I am currently under the care of Dr. Mazepa at BluePearl.) To manage my diabetes, my adopter will need to administer insulin everyday, as well as monitor my glucose levels with the guidance of a veterinarian. I am also on medication for my hypothyroidism. It is recommended that discuss with my future vet clinic about recommended follows ups and labwork (CBC, chemistry, UA, Fructosamine and T4).

A portion of Aldridge's adoption fee has been sponsored by his friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $400.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi, my name is Aldridge. I also go by Bubba, Aldi, and Alds! I am a big, goofy, energetic, funny guy and I would love to find a forever home, so let me tell you a little more about myself. I have been in my current foster home for a little over 8 months now! I love to go on walks, the longer the better, and a few a day would be nice too...I have a lot of energy. I can get pretty excited and with that comes a whole jumble of noises, I get so excited I just cannot hide it! Some dogs can be scared of my excitement, and I can be a little overbearing sometimes (I don't know what personal space is) so slow intros work best for me! I can also be a little picky, so not all dogs are for me but hey that's okay! I have some quirks as my foster mom would say, for example, I can be reactive towards skateboards, delivery trucks, and a few other things, but my foster mom and I are working on it and I have improved since I first got here! I am also not a fan of little kids...they just are not for me! I prefer big kiddos and adults as I can be as some would call a bull in a china shop! I love my stuffed squeaker toys, balls, and ropes. On walks my foster mom calls me the hunter because when I catch a squirrel or bunny scent, it's go time, laser focused and on the prowl! I sometimes even try to climb trees, it makes my foster mom laugh! If there is someone or something outside the window don't worry I will make you aware! I love to use my doggy voice! I know that I can be a lot, but I have come so far and I am really hoping there is someone out there for me! Thanks for reading a little bit about me! -Love Aldridge Check out my video: https://youtube.com/shorts/Tesf09LvU6A?feature=share History: From a shelter in Alabama

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $400.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi, I'm Greg! I came from one of our Tribal Partners! Greg is looking for a special person or family to adopt him. Greg loves playing and interacting with people, learning new training cues, and spending time outside. He's fully potty trained and is fine left out of his crate at night and while we're gone. Greg can get a little mouthy when he plays and sometimes forgets his size. For that reason, he'd be best in a home without young kids. Greg's biggest challenge is his reactivity while outside. This means he'll bark, jump, and get really stressed when he sees another dog, any small critter, or cats. We've been making progress but he'll likely always need more personal space. Shortly after arriving at Secondhand Hounds, Greg was diagnosed with Renal (Kidney) Dysplasia. This means his kidneys didn't fully develop, are working really hard to keep up, and will eventually fail. To make things easier on his kidneys and slow their deterioration, Greg now eats a prescription diet which he absolutely loves. He visits the vet several times a year to check his kidney function and has been doing fantastic! Watching Greg's fun and playful spirit, you'd never guess he had a medical condition. He LOVES tennis balls and squeaky toys and wants to bring happiness to the lives of everyone he meets. What will help Greg thrive in the future? Someone who knows about or is willing to learn about reactive dogs. An adopter who understands that Greg isn't the type of dog you can take to the neighborhood coffee shop or busy lake for a walk. He's not a big fan of car rides either, but loves being outside in a more private outdoor environment. Someone who is okay with the cost of his current and future medical needs. An adopter who will love him! He has lots of love to give and is such a good, sweet boy!
