Story
Asher is a beautiful boy. He is protective in personality and would do well with some one familiar with guard breeds. We are having a baby and cannot keep him. He is a deaf dog but understands sign language. He can run off leash and will return to your side. He would be a great police or search dog as his nose is impeccable. Please adopt Asher. He is a good dog just has a high prey drive and further training.

Story
Layla is about a 1 year old lab mix full of energy and love. She still has the typical puppy energy and behaviors, she is crate trained but can still bark a bit when left alone. She can be a pretty rough player with other dogs hasn’t quite learned manners even though we have tried to train her. so if you have another dog in your home they need to be okay with rough play or know how to correct other dogs. She can not be around cats as she chases mine and tries to bite at them I believe trying to play but its to much for the little cats as she could hurt them I’ve tried correcting this but she’s just to playful. Our work schedule have changed and we Are not able to give her the training or exercise she needs she needs a home that can give her attention time and patients with her. She would make a great dog for an active house who has the time to help her get all this puppy energy out she’s a great dog and a great cuddle buddy!

Story
Izzy is an amazing dog. Unfortunately, she is not good with the other dogs in my house and the alternative is devastating. I do not want to go that route. This is my last resort. I would need her to have a home with no dogs and preferably no young children. She has never harmed any actual person but I would prefer her to go to a house with teenagers or no kids. Like I said she's never hurt a person but she still makes me nervous with younger children just because they are so handsy and I don't ever want her to get spooked and hurt a person. She listens well. She is potty trained. She loves to go for walks. She has lots of energy. She will go on hikes with you all day long. She is such a loving dog and needs the right home

Story
*You must already have a friendly, confident dog to adopt Copper!* Copper is a 1-year-old Labrador with a heart full of love and a touch of shyness. This sweet, gentle boy is a certified cuddle enthusiast who bonds deeply with his people once he feels safe. While the world can be a little overwhelming for him, having a confident dog friend by his side makes all the difference. Copper must go to a home with a friendly, confident dog to help show him the ropes and give him the courage he needs. With a buddy by his side, Copper blossoms-he's more willing to meet new people and even enjoys playful adventures. On his own, he's quite timid and may hide until he feels secure. At home, Copper is house trained and loves to relax with his family, soaking up all the affection he can get. Once he's comfortable, his playful, energetic side shines-he's a big fan of hikes and other outdoor activities. He is house trained as long as he is kept on a routine. He is nervous of young kids and would likely do best in a home with teens and up. We do not know how he is with cats. If you have a welcoming dog and a patient, loving heart, Copper might just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to trust, love, and thrive with the right support! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! MARLEY

Pit Bull Terrier

Springfield, MA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Marley came to TJO quite itchy and nervous, but opened up quickly to staff and soon enjoyed all the butt scratches she could handle. Her favorite toy is tennis balls; she enjoys collecting them, fetching them, chewing on them, and sometimes tearing them open. Do you have room for a loveable tennis ball dragon?OTHER PETS: Marley was not interested in meeting hyper dogs, and gets grumpy with other dogs if they play too roughly (even if not with her); Marley would do best as an only dog although she enjoys socializing with low energy dogs outside of the home. [Should Be Only Pet] NO CATS, NO DOGS OWNER EXPERIENCE: Marley is going to need time, compassion, and understanding while she settles in - it may take longer than usual for her to begin to settle in and open up. Someone with experience would be able to support Marley with a minimal learning curve. [Some Experience] KIDS: Marley can be intense with her food and takes time to warm up to people; she needs to live with humans who will not mess with her food bowls and understand she may take time to become affectionate with them - Marley is nervous around strangers and will growl at them. [12+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Marley walks well on a leash and enjoys spending time outside, she enjoys fetch and other toy involved play with humans and does not get overly excited. Marley would do best with daily walks, some quality playtime, and plenty of mental enrichment. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: Marley arrived with some very itchy, scabby, skin. She had received vet care and is now back to 100%. A good relationship with a vet will ensure that Marley ages gracefully. [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Marley bond with her new owner as well as help her learn important skills. [Minimal] GROOMING: [Minimal]December 28, 2024, 5:31 pm
