Story
Opal truly is a gem! She would thrive in the perfect home—one with plenty of space to run and no other animals, babies, or young kids. This is due to her leash reactivity, strong personality, and resource-guarding tendencies. At 4 years young, Opal is incredibly smart, well-trained, and absolutely ball-obsessed! She loves learning new things and enjoys her daily walks or runs in the mornings and evenings. The rest of the day, she’s perfectly content lounging and relaxing. She adores her people and isn’t shy about showing affection—she’s got plenty of licks to give! Opal also loves her crate, where she feels safe and comfortable, and she has never been destructive when left home alone during the workday. She’s looking for a structured, loving home where she can be the center of attention and continue thriving. Could you be the perfect match for Opal?

Story
Benny is a sweet, loyal 6 year old hound mix. He is very smart and loves puzzles and using his nose! He would thrive in a rural environment where he can explore nature and bond with one or two experienced adults. Benny has some anxiety and behavior issues surrounding resource guarding and biting. He is afraid of things that beep, loud radiators, and thunder storms. Benny would do best in a home where he is the only pet and there are no young children present. He does give warning signs (subtle) when he is uncomfortable and needs space. His ideal human would be experienced and understand how he communicates. He is very quick to bond with his human and would make a great companion for the right person!

Story
We are offering the most regal and unusual Norwegian Elkhound female, named Svart (meaning dark in color) but we prefer to call her “Cleopatra”.  This gorgeous girl is the leader and Queen of them all.  Regal and fully confident, she is everything we know Cleopatra to have been back in her days of making history.  She is the epitome of a queen that is full of reigning power in her breeding pack.  This 5.5 year old girl is gorgeous and is 65 pounds.  Undeniably in charge , Cleopatra Svart insists on being the focus of your family’s life.  She can live in peace with other dogs but we don't think she would be good at dog parks with dogs rushing up to her face with no introduction. She is happy with all the humans she meets and she is part of a large pack of breeder dogs that her owner is asking Critter Cavalry Rescue to help place. She is downsizing and getting out of the breeding business.  Our Svart AKA Cleopatra, needs a place of her own inside a home with her dog bed throne to await her.  If you are interested in this regal queen, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com She is ready for YOU to walk her down the red carpet to her new home. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Gregarious Gail, as we call her, is just 21 months old and is a true beauty of a pure bred Norwegian Elkhound.  She possesses all the wonderful traits through and through. Gail is a special girl because as a puppy she had an infection that caused her to lose her tail and two toes on her back feet.  She is so cute with the shorter tail and it hasn't slowed her down a bit. In fact, Gail is a very active and athletic lady who can jump, run, spin and play.  Gail hasn't had much of a start in life and she deserves much more.   She is outgoing and very sweet and just a touch shy at first when she meets new people and new situations.  Critter Cavalry rescued her an overwhelmed Elkhound breeder and has promised this loving, loyal and friendly girl, to give her a family that will recognize her special bright spirit.  She gets along well with others and goodness just look at that beautiful face. She is going to make some person or family so very happy.  This rare breed is known for being extremely loyal, intelligent and sensitive.    If you are interested in owning a breed that is fast becoming rare in the U.S. then please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a fresh new start to her young life. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Hello rescue lovers, my name is Serene Sandy and I am an 11 month old Shepherd mix girl that is only 40lbs right now and probably not going to be over 45 pounds as an adult. I am a snuggly gal, that is calm and boy do I love kisses, I am super playful and I like to show off how fast I can run and jump, which is really high too.  My favorite game is “tug a toy “and during this pretty Fall, I sometimes try to catch leaves as they fall from the trees, but then I get distracted when I see an airplane or a bird, Yup, you got it I'm a silly, goofy gal too! I am crate trained, potty trained, and I am working on my leash skills. (I get so excited that I always want to run and play), I know some basic commands and I am up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. I get along well with other dogs, and people of all ages. I have not been around cats or other small animals. I am looking for my forever home. but I am a curious climber out of the fenced yard,  so a privacy fence would work well unless you have me on a leash when outside with you.   I am a curious, calm, goofy girl with a ton of curiosity that leads me to great adventures! If you are looking for a playful, loving, adventurous girl, look no further because I am the answer to your dog search! Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 4, 2024, 11:48 pm
