Story
Meet Tank!Do you enjoy going for a long sniff in the spring sunshine? So does Tank! Tank is a German shepherd who is big enough to require his own zip code, but other than that, he is a loving boy who is pretty good on leash despite his name. When Tank bonds with his people, like many German shepherds, he can become stressed when they are not around. A family with someone who works from home or has short hours might be the ideal match for him. Tank is a dog for someone who likes to skip going through the fuss of puppyhood and adolescence, but is not ready to adopt a senior dog. He is a dog who knows the drill of living in a home and may just need a few tweeks to be right for your home. Something Tank has already discovered is that he prefers to live in a home with adults and older children and does not want to share his people with any other animals. If you would like to meet this huggable lug, please stop by KVHS with ALL FAMILY MEMBERS!Interested in meeting Tank? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet BRUTUS also known as BRUCE! Bruce may appear to be your loving sweet old man, but he is so much more. Not only will Bruce push your every button; he will also steal your entire heart. He is an 8 year old American bulldog mix. Life with Bruce is demanding and at times he is anything but an easy dog. However, if you have lots of love and patience Bruce will become the light of your life. Due to a medication Bruce is on he drinks a lot of water and has to go to the bathroom frequently. Whenever he wants something - he growls. I know, i know, that sounds crazy right? But he means no harm and no foul. It is simply how he communicates. It is much like caring for a crying baby - offer him water, food, a potty break etc and soon you will find the cause for his vocal communication. Bruce loves but rubs and scratches. He will walk over to you and push his bed up against you until you scratch him. He does well for his medicated shampoo baths but he does require a little payment of peanut butter on the wall. This dog is a car dog! He absolutely loves to ride! Bruce is a food hound. He will 110% steal food off of your counters if you do not put it away. All trash in the house needs to be covered and preferably in a pantry or behind a cabinet door as he will steal trash. Bruce gets along with most dogs however most dogs do not tolerate Bruce’s behaviors. Bruce likes to play in a very rough dominating way and unless the dog has a similar play style he usually finds himself in the doghouse with his canine friends. Bruce is 50-50 with cats. He seems to respect and befriend older cats but finds kittens and smaller cats tempting. Bruce will try to dominate your cats and other dogs especially hyperactive young male dogs. Bruce’s one MAJOR DISLIKE is shutting doors in his face. He is not one for physical boundaries and he is not accepting of humans putting body pressure on him. He will stand his ground however - if you grab a treat he will willingly follow you anywhere! Bruce’s ideal home would be a tolerant patient owner with experience in bully breeds. His owner would preferably work from home we’re not be gone longer than four hours during the day as he does require multiple potty breaks. He would prefer an owner who believes their dog should go where they go and an owner who will take him on frequent car rides. Bruce would also prefer to be the light of your life - therefore a house will little humans should cons

Story
Meet Rooney! This dude loves nothing more than fun, playing, and socializing with people and other dogs! He`s a smart as a whip and picks up on stuff very quickly! He enjoys training and loves to show off his little prance when he gets something right! Rooney has been working on his leash manners, learning to sit (Which he is now a master at!), learning auto-sit to help keep his handler engagement, and learning to keep his paws (And mouth) to himself! When meeting new people, he gets extremely excited and forgets his manners (He has baby brain, what can he say!?) Rooney wouldn`t mind meeting future dog siblings. He is although no cats due to chasing them in the previous home. As for kids, 12 YEARS and up would be best suited for this high energy guy, though. When he gets the zoomies, he may accidentally take a kid down, he has no body awareness he also likes to sit on them and at 68lbs that could hurt a little one! Rooney also is in need of a home where someone is always with him, he can go to work with them etc. He has separation anxiety and is destructive when unsupervised, but luckily Rooney loves to ride and go on adventures. Rooney is also on meds for life for a suspect torn CCL. He is required to stay on either dasuquin, carprofen or gabapentin. As well as having a healthy relationship with a veterinarian. Come on down with the whole family (Including future dog siblings) to meet Rooney!

Story
Meet Baby Girl! She`s silly, goofy, and loves to talk when playing! She`s full of spunk and loves everyone she has met. She`s truly a peoples` dog! She loves to go for walks, and does very well on leash! Sometimes she does like to follow her nose, but with a quick reminder of saying her name, she`ll fall back in step next to you! She loves her food, and is very treat motivated! She knows `sit` very well as long as she gets `paid` for it. She also knows how to walk on a leash and how to give `paw.` Lastly, Baby Girl is looking for a home with children over the age of 6 as she likes to cuddle on her terms only. We think she might enjoy a feline or canine friend or two.Interested in meeting her? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
Meet Ziva, This family girl is willing to receive attention from people of all ages! She loves a good couch cuddle session as much as she enjoys Fling Rings (frisbee type toy) Playology Chew Bones. If you like to go for walks or hike, she is game to do that too! Ziva says that she would rather be the only dog getting attention in her home, but she is willing to meet other dogs for a potential play sesh. Ziva is willing to share her home with kitties, provided they are cat savvy. If you are interested in meeting Ziva, please stop by with all human members of your household!

Story
Meet Neo, KVHS longest resident dog!He may enjoy being the only animal in his home, but don`t let that stop you from checking him out! Neo is extremely smart and picks up on new things very quickly. He knows his name, sit, down, does well on leash, learning the start of heel, the `Find it` game with treats, and is always down to try and learn new tricks! He`s very food motivated. Neo`s ideal home would be an active family and one who is dedicated to continuing his training, helping him with his separation anxiety, and going on a lot of walks/adventures.
