Story
They named me Echo.  Funny name for a deaf dog, right?  Being hearing impaired doesn't stop me from being a happy, outgoing girl.  I understand hand signals for sit, stay, down and come but could really benefit from someone who can teach me more ways to help them communicate with me.  I catch on pretty quick and always look to my person for guidance.   I absolutely love people and get the wiggles when it's time for a walk.  Despite my challenge, I'm a good girl who always keeps her kennel clean.  I'm fond of a good belly crawl in the grass and long walks.  I love people so much that I want to keep them for myself.  No furry brothers or sisters for me, please.  I will settle for nothing less than being the queen of my castle.June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
Ruby Red Reign! This beautiful and petite girl is about 1 years old and is a 40lbs pitbull mix. Reign has lived in a home her entire life which consisted of 3 female dogs and a cat. Reign came to our boarding facility so that our volunteers could meet her and she met one of our male dogs and she did amazing with him as well! She is high energy and would love a home that can keep her active. Maybe a doggy sibling to romp around with? Some human kiddos to play fetch with? Or even a lovely adult family that can spoil her! As you can see, Reign would do great in practically any home. She currently lives with multiple dogs. Reign is a young and happy dog looking for a family that can provide what she needs to be happy! This pretty pup loves people and doesn't even know the concept of a "stranger". Everyone is a friend in Reign's eyes! Reign does get a tad nervous in the car so a little bit of encouragement in this area would go along way. Lots of dogs associate cars with scary things and Reign just isn't used to the big, scary, moving metal things that we humans depend on. Reign is a young and impressionable soul so a little bit of practice and TLC, Reign could be your next road trip buddy! If road trips aren't you're thing...well even better! Whoever has the chance to adopt sweet little Reign will quite possibly the luckiest family ever!June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
BEAUTIFUL NOVA! Nova is literally 1.5 years old. Very sweet, loves all people. She is sensitive and reactive to dogs on walks but has been working on manners and does well with muzzle training. Nova does great in a kennel and loves car rides. She needs someone who will set her up for success and help her continue her current training. Nova has done well with puppies while being on leash but needs to be an only dog to be the most successful. Nova was adopted from MABBR as a puppy and returned 1 year later. Nova is on a mission to find her true forever home. She wants to be loved so badly and deserves nothing less! Come and meet Nova, you won’t regret it! We just know in our hearts that if a foster home or forever home would take this beautiful girl into their homes, she would learn fast and easy. Right now she is in a boarding facility so effectively training her is hard due to the stressful environment she is in. She wants to please her humans and she is very smart.June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
Penny was rescued from a hoarding situation in October of 2022.   She is the picture of pitty perfection and obviously very pretty. Not only does she come with a natural, beautiful Smokey eyes she has a heart of gold and sticks to her foster mom like a piece of Velcro. She is a show stopper wherever she travels at only 45 pounds. She is current on all shots plus some heartworm medication and flea and tick. She has come so far since being placed in her foster home on October 6th and now can easily walk on a leash and only presents a challenge when distracted by wildlife or the children down the street which she loves. In these instances she becomes bolder and wants to enjoy the sights and sounds until she is ready to move. At night after her last walk she knows it is time for bed and heads right up to her half of the king size bed. There is never an accident in the house. In the morning she patiently waits until mom says it is time to go outside for a nice walk. She then very calmly spends the day with mom working at home either on her own sofa, her own recliner, or looking at one of the many windows. Occasionally she makes an on-camera appearance for colleagues around the world. She has become accustomed to walks during the day which gives both her and mom a break. By the time evening comes around, which she has determined is at 5:00 PM, she is ready to go outside for some running, some playing, or a trip to the dog park. When temperatures drop below 45 degrees, she is pampered with her own custom coat which mom insists on her wearing. Although she is offered food throughout the day, she is hesitant to eat until she can sit down and eat with her people. Mom occasionally spoils her with rice, freshly cooked chicken and veggies or fresh fruit. One of her favorite things to do is to stand at the freezer and wait for someone to pull out an ice cube, toss it across the wood floor where it skips onto the carpet, and she goes galloping after it like a deer. On Sunday afternoon she enjoys two hours at the dog park. She does not like to be left in her kennel or left by herself at home and shows signs of separation and confinement anxiety which we are working through. She is fabulous with other dogs, but cats she likes to play with and they do not much care to play. She loves to go for car rides but becomes easily excited so she has a car seat belt for the back. So shy would anyone give up such a wonderful dog, because she needs a friend and loves her too much to deny her what she needs! Mom would like to stay in touch, make her a new coat as needed and even babysit her when needed.   June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
Handsome, bodacious, affectionate, fun-loving Raleigh! He’s about 2yo, 60+lbs and full of wiggles and good vibes.  Hard to believe this guy was slated for euthanasia but with the help of some great people, he made his way to us just in time. Raleigh enjoys his dog friends, but loves love loves himself some people. Eager to connect, curious and happy – all the good things we want in a dog is in this boy.   We’re not sure about cats but it’s a possibility. From his foster dad: Raleigh is housebroken and does well being left loose. He likes snoozing in the sunny spots during the day and will also choose to go in his crate with a comfy bed. He loves going for walks as long as it isn't raining, his looks garner a lot of attention and compliments. He wants to meet every person and dog he sees, but his initial excitement poses a challenge to minding his manners and can be off-putting for some dogs. He's basically a wiggle machine for the first minute or so with people. I think he would prefer having another dog to play with, though his play style is a bit rough and tumble. He's decent about taking cues from other dogs when playing, but he does need some human guidance at times. He does well with the friendly, young male husky that he shares a fence with, but he is pretty reactive to people he sees or hears outside near the house. For that reason, in addition to his stunning looks, he should never be left outside unattended.June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm

Story
Rory was saved from euthanasia by a good Samaritan. Rory stayed with another dog in this person’s garage for several months awaiting a rescue organization to take her. When MABBR was finally alerted to her situation, we worked hard to take her into our care. She traveled from central Oklahoma to Kansas City and is now officially an MABBR dog. Rory is madly in love humans, especially the kiddos!  Dogs are high on her list too.  Rory will jump a fence so a 6′ privacy fence will need to be in her future.June 25, 2024, 3:03 pm
