Story
We were given Wendell as a puppy. He was an amazing dog and I saw to it that we did all the proper training with him and he was a well behaved dog that was good with kids and other dogs. When he was about 7 months old he started having seizures. Our vet was overseeing these seizures and over time he has been put on two seizure meds and and an anxiety med. The seizures have changed him and what at one time did not bother him, now affects him a lot. We have two wild 5 yo little boys that live here and this seems to affect his seizures and his anxiety and his behaviors are no longer compatible with our fam. It is like he was never trained. He is just wild and 3x he has caused me to fall, the last time causing me damage to my back. He has never been aggressive and he has never attempted to bite, but because of his behaviors we have to keep him crated a great deal which is not fair to him. He needs a quieter home with lots of love and someone who can handle a dog with his special needs.

Story
Ace was on the euthanasia list due to kennel cough in the Wichita Animal Shelter until a foster offered to take him in until 1st week of June. Even thought the kennel cough cleared, he ended up being Heartworm positive, and needed a place to chill and recover. Well, he is now 100% and ready to go to his furever home! Ace is a bundle of love and energy and is always ready to party! He is kennel trained, knows sit, shake, and leave it. He is older kid and dog friendly. Love LOVES toys and needs direction when it is time to put them away. He is a little too interested in our kitties so we have not introduced them. Ace is super affectionate, loves to play and is a super good boy in general! He is also independent and is happy entertaining himself. Looking for the definition of unconditional love? Then Ace is your guy!

Story
Joplin loves other dogs but likes to play rough. He takes correction well and has been to doggy daycare. When it comes to kids, he can be kinda rough when excited so maybe not small children. He will steal food from kids if the opportunity presents itself. Joplin is potty trained and goes into his kennel easily. He is a people please and listens when you say "no. He knows commands sit, down, kennel, shake, and spin. Joplin has come pretty far with his indoor manners. He hasn't had an accident inside in months, hasn't chewed any shoes lately, not generally destructive indoors. I buy him large beef cheek rolls to chew on because smaller chews do not last very long lol. He is a very active dog and can be obsessive over things like the squirrels and birds in the backyard. I have a 6 foot privacy fence that he used to try to dig under but has not lately. He still digs holes in the yard if not watched though, he loves to dig! He really likes to hang out in the yard no matter the weather. Joplin is kind of hard to walk as he gets distracted by anything that moves and will cross in front of and behind you. Its better to walk him on a quieter path, not near traffic and loads of people. He is extremely friendly but does get spooked by unexpected things on walks, will bark and put up hackles. When he's excited, his manners go out the window. He will start jumping on people and sometimes will get your hand instead of the toy if playing. When we wind down for the night, Joplin loves to cuddle. He has no boundaries and wants to be in your lap or sleeping as close to you as possible. Definitely likes the company of other dogs around the house. He's a pretty big sweetie in general, not at all aggressive. I think he would appreciate a home with more activity than mine (more people to play with and also a dog that likes to play)

Story
Roxie, this little lady is always so happy it just makes you feel happy yourself. She loves chew toys, running in the yard and snuggling. She is crate trained and good around other dogs. I believe she would be happy in a home with or without dogs. She likes to sleep against your side and sometimes likes to be under the covers. She enjoys the small pool and just hanging out with her family. She rides great in the car but is not a fan of fireworks. She is just an all round sweetheart.

Dyno was surrendered by his owners in 2023. They said he is great with other animals and children. He lived with dogs and cats. They had him since he was a puppy but were no longer able to care for him. Fun facts about DYNO 1. He is one of the happiest boys you'll ever meet! He'll always greet you with a smile and his famous tippy taps. 2. He lives up to his nickname "Happy. He's got the most contagious smile and can turn any frown upside down! 3. Dyno LOVES his people with all of his heart. Once he loves you, he's attached for life! 4. Dyno loves his feline friends, but would do best as an only child or in a home with a more submissive dog. 5. He's a gold medalist in the couch potato Olympics, but he can still be silly and play like a young pup! 6. Dyno is kennel trained like a pro, but doesn't necessarily need it, as he takes pride in a clean and organized home 7. Baked potato season is his favorite. Our guy LOVES to sunbathe. 8. He's the best companion when you're feeling alone. He always knows the perfect way make you feel like you're the most important person in the room .

Story
Alexandra was euth listed as a kennel cough suspect at the Wichita Animal Shelter in May and was given a mere 5 hours to be out of the building. Her finders saw that she was in immediate danger and stepped up to foster her and save her life. Unfortunately a recent incident with another dog in the home has sent Alexandra to boarding where we were already over full. She is the biggest cuddle bug that wants to crawl onto your lap and never leave and will take belly scratches all day long. She knows sit, walks really well with little pull on a leash, is dog friendly and is kind of potty trained. She got into a scuffle with another dog in the home recently when the dogs were outside so it is unknown what caused the incident. She has shown some guarding tendencies so though she is dog friendly, precautions will be needed to set her up for success which we will help guide you with! We just need someone willing to step up and be willing to make the effort!
