Story
Slate was born on 6/25/2023 and is a Siberian Husky. He is current on immunizations, heartworm, and flea control. He will go into his crate well, especially for bed time. He needs to be crated when alone, or at night for bed time. I use positive training methods with him, and he is treat motivated. He is a little shy with new people until he gets to know you. He walks best with a harness, although he does wear a collar. The harness is less traumatic to build his confidence. It would be beneficial for him to have another canine friend. He has been easy to correct, and enjoys belly rubs. He has done well with my 8yr. old female siberian. I do not recommend a home with cats, small animals, or young children. I do prefer that any potential owner have knowledge/experience with the breed. He is not neutered yet, but that is on the agenda. Slate sleeps out of his crate now. He lays his head on me, or touches my face to wake me up to be let out.

Story
Maya is an adorable and sweet girl who is around one year old. She is always ready for love and attention. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and weighs around 47 pounds. Who can resist her short legs, and big, square head, especially when it’s matched with an even bigger personality. She is a playful and friendly pup who loves going on walks, especially if they include cuddle breaks. She is still learning manners and commands, but she is a smart girl and is willing to learn. She has shared an outside kennel with two different shelter dogs, and loves spending the day playing with a companion. She has been on a hike with some volunteers, and their two smaller dogs, and she did wonderfully. She handled the car ride, new dogs, and a lake full of geese amazingly well. She loved being outside and going on an adventure. She also had a playdate in a home, where she used the bathroom outside before and after coming in the house, but not while inside. She also played with the two dogs she has gone on a hike with in their home and did really well. Her young, puppy brain doesn’t understand how much bigger she is than the smaller dogs, so she needs more training, or to be in a home with dogs closer to her size. Maya is ready for her own family to play and cuddle with.

Story
Minnie ended up at the shelter under bad circumstances that had nothing to do with her. She is a sweet and friendly girl who is around 2 years old. She is up to a happy and healthy weight of 57 pounds after coming into the shelter underweight. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. She is very patient with being harnessed and is always so excited to go for a walk. She walks well on a leash and loves being outside. She has been introduced to three of our shelter dogs, and they all did great. She also noticed a cat outside, but was easily redirected to continue on her walk. She’s a happy girl who loves attention, and she’s ready to find a home where she’ll get the love and care she deserves.

Story
Freddie came into the shelter after being found dumped with his brother, Frankie, and his sister, Frances. He’s neutered, heartworm negative, around seven months old, weighs around 35 pounds, and is vaccinated with Distemper, Bordatella, and Rabies. Shortly after coming into the shelter his brother, Frankie, started showing signs of parvo. He was immediately separated and treated. A couple days after that, Freddie started acting more lethargic and not wanting to eat, so he was quickly treated as well. Since we knew to be looking for symptoms, he was treated even more quickly than Frankie, so he didn’t have to get fluids like his brother. He was medicated, and fed by hand, while snuggling up with the volunteers. He’s now made a full recovery, and is no longer contagious. He’s ready to play, and even throughout his quarantine, he would run up to his gate with a toy, hoping for a play session. He’s a friendly boy, who is ready to change his luck and grow up in his forever home.
