Story
Mya was a rescue dog and we've had her close to 5 years. Loves people, loves attention, loves cuddling and loves to lick. Loves dogs and cats but doesn't know how to approach them and would need to be socialized. Loves to run and fast - when outside would need to keep in a fenced yard or on a leash or cable. Crate, automatic waterer, food bowl, leashes, harness, food, treats, etc. goes with Mya. She's happy eating Purina Dog Chow, no special or expensive foods. No rehoming fee, just want to find a good home. Crate trained for sleeping or when owners are away. Loves kids but she's a 50# dog and can knock little ones over with enthusiasm. She needs folks who will give her attention. Up to date on shots. Very short hair, pretty brindle color. Likes to walk on leash but will pull some at first. Need to rehome due to wife's dementia.

Story
Ziggy is a 63lb terrier that is estimated to be around 6 years old. He is a very loveable guy and can be the best boy. He is one of our happiest pups despite his current situation. He would greet everyone that comes to the shelter if given the chance! He is not a good fit for cats and can be a bit dog selective so he will need a meet and greet for families that have pets already. If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
This gorgeous Rottweiler/Mastiff mix is Sharon. This girl showed up at the shelter with a broken leg and pregnant. She is healed and all her pups are adopted out to loving homes. It is finally her turn to shine and be adopted. She is 1.5 years old and very sweet. Sharon has a very strong prey drive so she is not a good fit with cats. She also shows aggression towards other dogs so this pup will be better in a home with no other pets. She would need to be on a leash outside or have a fenced in yard as she is curious and will run off. She is fantastic with humans and has been in a foster home. She has had house training and is doing great. Her adoption fee is $150.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
My name is Izzy and I am one gorgeous pup. I have a lot of energy and would love to have a fenced in yard to exercise in. I can jump a short fence so a 6 foot fence would be ideal. Long walks on a leash is also a great way for me to exercise if a fence is not an option. I am good with kids and all people but I can be a bit aggressive towards other pets so I would do best in a home with no other animals. I would not be a good fit for someone who wants a social pet with other dogs. I am crate trained and house trained and I do pretty well on a leash with a halter. I am active and goofy girl and deep down I just want to have fun. I am around 1.5 years old and 41 lbs.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
My name is Makoto and I am a good boy. I enjoy a good squeaker toy and treats could be a great pass time as well. I am 66 lbs and I am believed to be an Akita mix. I tested good with respectful dogs and I do not seem to mind having a cat around. I might chase them but with training I can do anything. I do not enjoy vet visits but what pet really does? I am a pretty calm dog, I do not tend to jump on people and I do pretty well on a leash. I have done well with people and would be a good fit with respectful kids. Am I the right dog for you? You will never know unless you fill out an application and come meet me!If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
Meet Sky! Sky is a Shar Pei mix and is a perfect size. He is 34lbs and one of our senior dogs. We are estimating him to be around 8 years old but his is still a playful guy. He likes to run and chase balls and feel alive! He would do well with other dogs but a meet and greet would be recommended as sometimes he is a bit of a grump when meeting some dogs.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.
