Story
Hello I am Izzy Dizzy & I would love to be someone's everything! Being an English Bulldog makes me kinda special. Why you ask? Well my foster Momma calls me high maintenance. Something about all my wrinkles and folds. All I know is I love the extra attention. If you have experience with my breed then you're my kinda person and we could have great times together.  I'm called a stubborn diva at times. I'm approximately 4 years old and 40# of muscle. I'm very strong! I was a stray at our local shelter and never claimed. The nice vets fixed me right up. I had cherry eyes corrected along with Entropian surgey because my eye lashes were rolled in and irritating my eyes. Basically I had a eye lift lol. I was also fully vetted and treated for a skin and ear infection.  Momna says I'm ready for a family!   Izzy will need to meet any dog friends as she can be selective. Children over 10 would be best. Izzy lives with cats currently and has had no issues. We are looking for a home with breed experience. Izzy will most likely need allergy injections and close monitoring of her skin/folds on the daily. She is very good for her daily spa treatments and actually enjoys it. A fully fenced secure yard is required.  Izzy is crate trained and fully housebroken. No chickens or farm animals for this girl. Izzy is fully vetted for 1 yyear, spayed, microchipped, & on monhtly preventatives.  Her adoption fee is $200. Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com. **We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.** ##2176030##

Story
Meet Luca, a spunky 10-year-old Maltese mix who’s as curious as he is cuddly! Despite his age, Luca has the energy of a puppy, always ready for a new adventure—or a cozy snuggle session on the couch. He’s active and alert, keeping up with any activity you throw his way. Luca doesn’t shed much, making him a great companion for those who prefer a low-maintenance coat. Luca’s had a heart murmur since birth, but don’t let that worry you; he’s in great health and doesn’t require any medication at this time. He may in the future. This little guy was recently potty trained using a doggie door and has taken to it like a pro! He also seems to be pee pad trained. He’d be happiest with someone who’s home a lot to let him in and out when nature calls. Luca came from a breeder release and still acts like a young pup, eager to find a forever home where he can keep learning, exploring, and loving life. Luca is also is a little hard of hearing.  He currently lives with several dogs and does fine. Lastly, his leash skills are not great and he would do best with a fenced yard Luca can be applied for on our website. Www.trackingintheshadows.com All our dogs come with age appropriate vaccines, deworming, spayed/neutered, microchipped and on prevention  *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* Please live within an hour of Elkhart or Plymouth to apply ##2179108##

Story
Lucy is ready for her new home! She is an unclaimed stray so we don't know her history; or her breed really. I have her listed as Basenji (she has a curly tail!) & Dachshund mix but she could be anything from Chihuahua to Beagle to Black Mouth Cur. It would be fun to DNA test her!! Lucy is 18# & estimated at 7 months old. She is still learning things & is unsure often but is very energetic. Lucy seems to be housetrained but we are still working on crate training. She needs an experienced owner or someone willing to work with a fear free force free trainer. She would really benefit from some classes to help with her confidence.  Lucy has been dog friendly & is playful but she will need slow introductions to new dog friends.  She needs another playful dog in the home or an active owner that'll make sure she gets daily exercise & enrichment.  Lucy has some resource guarding with food.  That just means she needs to be fed separately or in a crate.  Lucy has not been cat tested yet but that can be arranged if needed. She should be ok with older children (13+). Lucy does well on a leash so she doesn't require a fenced in yard but will need to be leashed or on a tie out at all times. Lucy's adoption fee is $225. She is fully vetted for 1 year, spayed, microchipped, & on monthly preventatives. Applications for adoption are at www.trackingintheshadows.com. Please live within 1 hour of Elkhart, IN. *We do not accept electric/underground fences. Story
Chip is once again looking for his new home Chip has been adopted twice and returned so we are going to try it one more time. Each time Chip has been bounced from home to home he becomes ever more unsettled and its really not fair to him. He is confused and hasn’t had enough time to get into a routine. I will be very honest in the type of home Chip needs. Although it may take time to find just the right family, we as a rescue want his next placement to be his forever home.  He is a very special boy with some special requirements and needs. A potential adopter should have zero expectations for Chip as this will set him up for failure. Medical: Chip has had a full medical workup. Parrett Veterinary Clinic to rule out any medical. We did a full bloodwork panel and urinalysis along with x-rays. He has been cleared for adoption physically.  He has been neutered and vaccinated, on prevention and has a Bordatella.   Behaviorally: What I've observed in my home is that Chip wants to have things his way. He can also be a pretty fearful dog.  We believe that this goes back in time before Chip ever came into rescue and it will be important for Chip’s new family to enroll in confidence classes and help continue his confidence at home as well as open up his world to new things.  We are seeking a family who can be respectful of chip and his bubble. Even after an adjustment time of 3 weeks to 3 months he is still a quirky dog and doesn’t always appreciate love and affection.  He is happy to tell you he has had enough politely but will escalate if you don’t listen to him. His cues are very noticeable, and we can go into these in more details to set his new home up for success. Let's talk about what Chip needs to succeed in a new home and environment. He needs an Adult/teenage only home. If children come to visit, they must be respectful of him and his space. Chip is great with cats. Dogs need to be coexisters. We have seen Chip play with dogs in his previous home but he takes time to feel comfortable to be able to play with them. Chip is really a very easy going dog when he is left to just dog. Let him go at his pace. Lastly, If your still reading then you might be just the person Chip needs. Here is what you can expect the first few weeks. Chip will drag a leash 24/7. Chip is housebroken and crate trained but sometimes he doesn’t like to go out and so guiding him with a leash until he is in a routine is best. Fenced required. No electric/underground fencing allowed. Once comfortable Chip will turn sideways for you to pick him up. He will also jump on the couch to sit by you. This could take a couple months, but oh the reward when it happens. Basically, this is all on CHIPS TIME. He is not a needy dog so don't expect that from him. If you are interested please fill out an application at www.trackingintheshadows.com.  Please live within 1 hour of Cassopolis, MI.  All pets in the home must be up to date on vaccines spayed/neutered, and receive monthly heartworm prevention.  ##1986346##

Story
Kerri Hi there! I’m Kerri! I am a 10yr old chihuahua mix. I was found as a stray and have been living with my foster family for a little over a month. I was recently spayed, had a hernia fixed and had 14 teeth pulled that were causing me pain! Since then I have been feeling much better and I’m officially looking for my perfect furever home! (We do suspect Kerri had a seizure a few days ago but we are just monitoring for now) I would absolutely love a home that is willing to give me loads of love and attention. I am extremely affectionate once I’m feeling comfortable. I am a happy little girl that needs a little patience to allow me to adjust to my new surroundings and once I come out of my shell you will have a permanent lap dog that supplies unconditional love.  I am not a huge fan of a crate but I love my pen that my foster mom made that I stay in. I sometimes even go in there all on my own when I need a break from my foster fur siblings. I have 2 cat and 5 dog siblings of all shapes and sizes. Although I am not thrilled about sharing my love with them, I do tolerate it pretty well once I adjusted to living with them.  I need a family that is willing to help me with some baths that will help my skin as I am dealing with some allergies. I have improved tremendously since being with my foster parents but need continued care  to keep me feeling healthy, comfortable and happy. I am potty trained and sleep well at night. I even like to take naps throughout the day and enjoy sunbathing outside. I enjoy my meals and absolutely love treats, although I do need to stay at a healthy weight since I’m getting a bit older so my joints stay strong. I can’t wait to find someone that is willing to give me the life I deserve! If you are interested in providing me with my dream retirement home, I’d love to meet you! Please fill out an application at trackingintheshadows.com *We do not accept electric/underground fences. All dogs & cats in the home must be spayed/neutered & up to date on core vaccines & preventatives in order for your application to be approved.* ##2184016##

Story
Chase 1 Year old Yellow Lab. Fully vetted.  Hi, friends,  I’m Chase! I’m new here, so allow me to introduce myself! I’m around 1 year old, and I definitely still have that puppy energy. I love playing with other dogs; if your resident pup needs a friend, I’d love to meet them!  I haven’t met any kitties yet so my foster mom is unsure how I do with them. I have some smaller, human foster siblings that I love and am so gentle with them but was recently returned for some anxiety and growling towards the small kid. We are thinking that for my own success that I need a home with older kids who will not scare me and be too rambunctious.  I am house broken and do well in a crate. My training is going well so far, my foster mom says I walk nicely on a leash when I am in my own back yard but get a little scared when going out to public and will pancake.  I would really benefit from some confidence courses!   If you’re looking for another dog to add to your pack or just a companion for adventures, I’m your guy! Just tell the people you want to meet me, Chase! A secure fenced yard is required for Chase or he will need to be leash walked outside.  Www.trackingintheshadows.com ##2156343##
